When you gulp you allow more air into your stomach which for most people can be painful. Also, your stomach is much smaller so a few gulps could make u beyond full and it can come back up.

I called the doctors office today and they said it shouldn't be hurting this bad so they moved my appointment to first thing in the morning. We shall see.... Thank u everyone who replied to my post. I am glad some of this pain is normal.... :-)

Hey everyone... I am four weeks out today and I have so much muscle pain under and around the area where the doctor pulled my stomach out... I am thinking maybe it is a hernia but i dunno bc i never had one.... Anyone else experience this? What is the solution? It hurts to move to get down with my kids and play to lay in bed... Any advice? Going to bring it up to my post op appointment tomorrow but i feel alone on this and guess I need reassurance that i am not.

Ugh... At my first family outing since sleeved. It's so difficult with all the delicious smells of food in the air. Everyone thinks something is wrong because the girl that was always eating isn't eating. Really hard especially when some people don't know the surgery I had ... Stop asking me if I want this or that.... Of course I do but I am not able to right now.... Really tough... I am happy I have my husband here for support. Good luck to anyone who has to experience this. Be strong... And it's okay to cry but you know what... We did this for a better future... You should be proud of yourselves. I know I am (doesn't make it any less hard). :-)

Sleeved July 24th... I went into pureed food a week early. My reasoning is due to the fact I cannot keep my shakes down (or the powered mix or any type of protein jelly) so I switched so I can have my protein. I have been having chili and cottage cheese (pureed of course) and so far so good. I haven't weighed myself.... I don't own a scale and do not care to right now. I am what I am and don't want to dwell on it. I know someone posted having instant potatoes ... You may want to check with your doctor and nutritionist about that bc my doctor and nutritionist and many sites say you shouldn't have instant... Be careful. :-)

I was so scared i almost passed out before surgery... I needed extra oxygen and ice packs to bring my temp up bc i was so nervous. I came out and the doctor said i made her job look easy. Good luck you'll be great as long as u followed the pre-surgery instructions and diet.

I get gas pains in my left shoulder and under my left rib cage area. Uncomfortable but not extremely painful. -
I had my surgery July 24, 2013.... I still have a lot of gas pains and trouble drinking the shakes. Loved the shakes before surgery but now every time i smell it i heave...tried other shakes and same issue. Not getting nearly enough protein. My vitamins and calcium make me gag now too. Getting very frustrated.
