When Life Gets In The Way Of The Sleeve
endless80 replied to No game's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You and I are very similar in our approach to this new life. So far it's worked out for me but I know in the future the belt will need to be tightened a bit when it comes to food and balance. I am prepared for that. I am also the same about Water. The majority of my water is consumed during the week at my desk. I kind of rely on it because on the weekend I don't consume nearly as much. Like Laura said above, I'll go days where water hasn't crossed my lips until the afternoon. Unless it's coffee. -
Are You Happy That You Had The Sleeve Procedure?
endless80 replied to love to be at goal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes. I do enjoy my sleeve. Now. At first I didn't. -
I didn't have any change in my sleeping habits or patterns, I do notice I wake up a bit more refreshed these days as my mild sleep apnea is gone. And that might be it for you. The way you eat now, you losing weight, more energy etc... You might not need as much sleep.

I slept in the guest bedroom for a good 3 weeks after surgery. Alone.

OMG I would be fat forever if I worked at Starbucks with just the Salty Caramel Frappachinos alone. Nevermind the CAKEPOPS. How do you do it? lol

Just regroup. Pick a date to start and give it your all. This battle with all of us is lifelong and we all slip up. Forgive yourself and get in the kitchen a cook some amazing, healthy meals. Also, bread is not off limits but you should probably find some balance with it. If you find that you cannot, then maybe you should consider ditching bread for a while all together.

My Surgeon Doesn't Require A Pre-Op Diet?
endless80 replied to sleever427's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me slider foods are everything that we all love. LOL! Cookies, chips, ice cream, candy, pop corn, frappachinos. My new stomach is so weird, it loves the bad stuff and in a lot of instances can handle the bad stuff better than the good stuff. Ironic. -

Sooo... Tmi But Has Anyone Ever Had An Infected Belly Button?
endless80 replied to endless80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you. I have some hibiclens left over from my shower the morning before surgury. I'll start using that and the rest of the stuff you mentioned. Thankful I have all that stuff now. How long does it take to clear up on average? mine took about 2 weeks and then I had a appointment with my surgeon and she also gave me bactriban, and a antibiotic to make sure it did not come back. As long as the discharge does not smell you will be ok taking care of it yourself. If it starts to smell you will need a script, and also it is true make sure you dry your belly first and then get a afresh towel. Good luck. No it doesn't smell hardly at all like a normal infection does. I've been cleaning it out with peroxide for the last few days a few times a day. The redness has gone down and the bleeding and discharge have just about stopped. I didn't have any issues yesterday so hopefully today will be better. -

It seems to be clearing up a bit now but I am going to start doing this. Just in case. -
Sooo... Tmi But Has Anyone Ever Had An Infected Belly Button?
endless80 replied to endless80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did that but both my surgeon and my PCP wouldn't call me in an antibiotic unless I came into see them. This really bugged me because I explained to them both that taking the time off work to come see them is next to impossible right now in December. It bothered me because they just let me go without offering any alternative or option. But my surgeons office sure didn't hesitate to remind me that I still owed them $112 after THOUSANDS have been paid out to them by myself and insurance. And all I needed was antibiotics. Very annoying. -

I had pretty bad reflux before the sleeve and even worse refux after. I take Prilosec and a pro-biotic daily to control that.

Thoughts On Drinking Through A Straw?

Weird my doctor or nutritionist never told me I couldn't use a straw. I've been using them just fine the whole time. -

Woke Up With A Very Tender Belly Button Today. Weird. Hernea Maybe?
endless80 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It wasn't there when I went to sleep but when I woke up today the area around my belly button was tender and sore. I hear that hernias are common when you lose a lot of weight pretty quickly and also when you're heavy, which I still am. But what does a hernia feel like? It's sore and tender there now in the whole belly button area. Idea's? Moans? Groans? *oops, I misspelled hernia in the title. -
Woke Up With A Very Tender Belly Button Today. Weird. Hernea Maybe?
endless80 replied to endless80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah I figured out what it was. My damn belly button is infected. Apparently this is common because I've lost so much weight so quickly the belly button has gotten a little "deeper" cause the skin hasn't caught up with it yet. I wash it but haven't been drying it as well as I should be and I woke up this morning with a belly button full of blood. WEIRD. I cleaned it out real well and called the doctors office. I can't get in there for at least a week because of their weird hours but on Saturday, if this doesn't get any better I will go to a Minute Clinic and get some antibiotics. Such a random, strange side effect of losing weight quickly. -
My Surgeon Doesn't Require A Pre-Op Diet?
endless80 replied to sleever427's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some people feel hunger post op and some don't. I did. But hunger now feels a lot different than it did before. And also it is REALLY easy to make go away with just a tiny bite or two of food. -

Wild! I hear the "egg" beneath your skin is normal and just scar tissue. I'm not sure if it goes away. -

Gained Weight 2 Weeks Out?
endless80 replied to Bronco0605's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah that's just fluids. I gained 20 pounds from all of the fluids they pumped into me. But I lost that pretty quickly. The scale makes people crazy. I've stopped weighing myself daily.
