TMI... But I have to know
endless80 replied to eyoung's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had no gas pains at all. Some do though. Your incision pain is bad for the first couple weeks but it goes away. Nobody is doubled over in pain from it really. A pillow never worked for me but just holding my hand there did. -
Some things I know for sure. Other things nope!
endless80 replied to RJ'S/beginning's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm drinking a cup of caffeinated coffee right now. You guys don't? RJ... You're gorgeous, you're intelligent and a lovely person. These things we all know for sure. You will find your conclusion in this chaos right now. We are all getting through this together. *big warm hugs* -
Got naked, nobody died of shame...

Not TMI at all but awesome! Healthy sex is just that... healthy. Hope you had a good time and this starts the process in healing the bad body image a lot of us hold in our minds about ourselves. -
Food ideas to bring to work?
endless80 replied to luvzpitbullz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Trail mix as a snack. I like to cook and bring what I cooked to work through the week. Sunday I cooked a big thing of ground turkey, a spaghetti squash and 2 jars of good tomato sauce. I pack that up and have been eating on that for a few days now. I bring a greek yogurt as well and that's pretty much all I eat while I am at work all day. -
I have discovered on this journey that my weight loss makes other people feel uncomfortable. Don't let that discourage you. Lose all the weight you want to lose.

Yayyy i got approval... But now i have a major dilemma
endless80 replied to Lioness813's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think you should wait until you're just a little more prepared, at least mentally. Linda may have not had any issues but I have a friend who had complications and took a little longer to heal. I think you need at least 2 weeks. This is major abdominal surgery. I lost my grandmother to Alzheimers last year so I understand your struggle right now. But I also understand the sleeve struggle and you should go into this as mentally and physically (meaning help) as possible. -
How do you record your food intake?
endless80 replied to Bronco0605's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I never measure food. I can only get 3-4, maybe 5 bites in anyways. I ate half a taco yesterday and I was stuffed. I don't need to measure anything but slider foods. If I have chips, I put them in a small bowl. I do my best to never eat out of the bag because I'll eat and eat. Same with ice cream. I do not eat out of the pint. I measure a couple of spoonfuls and put it in a bowl. So I do not overeat these bad foods. But everything else, my sleeve does the work for me. -
Am I the only one that wants to eat this or that for the last time before surgery?
endless80 replied to MNMema's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Girl we are like sleeve twinsies. I miss soda and Olive Garden. I miss soda while AT the Olive Garden. But you're right, actually sitting down and eating that would probably be completely different in reality than what my mind is telling me. Could you imagine if we lived in the same town and how weird we would look going to the Olive Garden all excited and being able to only eat 4 bites and the server being like WTH? lol -
Am I the only one that wants to eat this or that for the last time before surgery?
endless80 replied to MNMema's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
3 days before surgery I went to my favorite restaurant and had my favorite meal there which was the roasted turkey with dressing, mashed potatoes, some veggie I never eat and cranberry sauce with a big bowl of matzo ball Soup as an appetizer. All of this smothered in gravy (except the soup). It was heavenly. But the next day I had to start my 2 day liquid diet pre surgery, and I did. But that was my last hurrah hurrah meal. -
280. I haven't been this small in over 14 years.

Girl, you need to be studied by a team of scientists! Your story inspires me to get off my ass (like I have been saying for over two months now) and get to a gym. Stay strong, friend. My thoughts and well wishes are coming your way today.

Terrified and having second thoughts - Surgery is in 48 hours : - (
endless80 replied to BabySheldon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It sounds to me that you may not be ready for this. I never threw up afterwards but I know a lot of people who have and if you do it's just the way you heal, however... mentally is REALLY REALLY tough for the first 2 months. I think you need to come to grips with that before you do this tomorrow because there no NO TURNING BACK after you have this done. So you better be sure and you better be prepared to experience a complete life change in the next couple of months. -
You don't need to stretch it out any! Trust me.You are still newly sleeved (not even 6 months yet) there is a reason they call this the honeymoon (best losing window) period. Like over night capacity will change.. not back to pre sleeve but compared to what you got used to eating it will feel like it. Your stomach is still not healed all they way it will relax on its own and you can eat a bit more. I can eat a taco... I wish I couldn't but I can.. And then I woke up today 2 pounds less than I was yesterday and it made it all worth it!! I LOVE my sleeve. lol
-
I would like to stretch mine out a little. The amount of food I can eat now is really really tiny. I went to Chipoltle today and I got some taco's. No rice, minimal Beans, meat and tomatoes. I got about halfway through the first one and I was done. I am still learning to accept that stopping point. It's tough.

Why we eat what we eat
endless80 replied to coopspa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It depends and you will not really know until you get sleeved. Some people can handle sugars, some cannot. It seems to be general rule of thumb that most nutritionists suggest sugar free to maximize weight loss, plus as overweight people a lot of us very well have a huge sugar addiction. I also read somewhere that over consumption of refined sugar can slow recovery time due to inflammation. -
For those healing right now..

I questioned my decision for a good month and a half after I got it done. You grow into your new life. Trust the process. What you're feeling is normal. -
How much weight did you lose during your first month post-op?
endless80 replied to gemgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a month off work. In that first month I lost about 35-40 pounds. You don't have a lot of weight to lose so I think you will probably lose a bit slower. Plus I am a guy and we seem to lose weight more quickly. -
what foods are you able to eat after surgery and ones you can never eat again
endless80 replied to traciej1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is very sound advice. I wouldn't say miserable for hours. Maybe it feels like hours but if I get too full I take a small sip of Water to loosen things up a bit and I STOP EATING (this is obvious but a lot of us have food addictions and wont). About 20-30 minutes later I'll resume. You'll get used to it taking you hours to finish a meal. -

endless80 replied to traciej1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat pizza sometimes but it's super thin crust and I might get 1-2 small pieces until I'm done. I have eaten beef but not steak, however I do not think I'd have a problem with it if I did eat it. And trust me when I tell you this.. bread will become increasingly unimportant to you because the second it touches your stomach it blows up and you cannot eat hardly any of it. At least not at first. -
8 Months and 9 Days GOAL!
endless80 replied to indecision's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Oh man you and I have the same numbers basically. 8 months and 9 days, that's amazing. Congrats. Today is probably a day you will remember always. I hope I am as successful as you are. -
Almost 80 pounds down so far.

Will I be sipping forever?
endless80 replied to LuminousLife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I miss chugging. This is why I stay away from juices because my instinct is to chug and it hurts. -
Oh yeah, I think we all struggle to an extent in the beginning. Some more than others. I said the first thing I wanted when I was able to actually eat was 3 bites of a grilled cheese sandwich dipped in tomato Soup because at the time sounded like the most delicious thing in the world to me. LOL as it turns out, after you're sleeved a sandwich anything becomes completely unimportant and totally not worth it. Stay strong. It really does get much much better.

Same here. I did clear liquids for 2- 3 days after and then full liquids for 2 weeks, pureed foods for a week, soft foods for 2 weeks, then slowly incorporated regular foods.
-
It goes away. At 3 weeks you should still for the most part be on liquids or pureed foods, right?
