    Thanksgiving ~ One week post-op

Turkey Breast, 1 can of green beans and cream of mushroom (for green bean casserole), 2 potatoes to make mashed, jar of gravy, most grocery stores sell slices of cake and/or pumpkin pie. Throw it together and call it a day. Easy Peazy
  2. As far as food goes, liquids, water, dilluted apple juice, muscle milk protein shakes are decent, water, water, water, sugar free popscicles, crystal light, thin soups strained of any chunks and of course, more water.
  3. Water water water Protien is important but hydration is more important. Especially at this stage.
  4. I don't know. Probably go for a long hike and have a good cry. I've been big my whole life, I have no idea what to expect when I am not an overweight person.

I stole this from another thread I saw today from Laura-ven.

Awesome! Congrats. I would rethink the timing of the surgery if you celebrate Christmas though. lol

    Pizza soup?

yup! I would cook tomato soup and put scoops of ricotta cheese in it that would just melt in my mouth when I ate it. Just eat slow and enjoy.

    Crackers?

I would wait till at least week 5-6ish before I ate crackers. Also, keep in mind they are slider food.
  9. Whoa bud, slow down a little bit. Maybe take this weekend to reevaluate why you got the sleeve and where you want to go with it. I am sure there is still plenty of inspiration for you if you just allow yourself to tap into it. Start slow and try to figure out a whole new food identity that you can align yourself with. This journey is not over for you and I don't think you messed up your sleeve at all. Failure defines success, so respect the process. Tomorrow is another day. You're just not on the same page right now with your sleeve and it happens to the best of us.

    Thanksgiving.. What to eat.?

By Thanksgiving I will be 10 weeks out and I'll have a little bit of turkey, some green bean casserole and a tiny dollop of mashed taters.
  11. One day 301, next 303, next 302, next 301. It's been like this for almost 2 weeks now!!! So frustrated. How do we break these? I am eating no more or less than I normally have and I'm working out. I just wanna get under 300 for God sake. lol Why couldnt I stall at 295?

    Pills?

I didnt take my first pill till 6 weeks out but I've read some responses on here where folks were taking them very early post op and there are other people who will tell you that their doctor told them not to take pills or capsules until months out. You will very rarely get a consistent answer here.
  13. I heard whey Protein Powder causes bad gas. Something to do with the bacteria in your gut. It could be a lactose intolerance or check the Protein source, or both.

    Looking for advice - PLEASE!

I had bad reflux before the surgery but nothing showed up on my Upper GI. I had HORRIBLE reflux after the surgery. I take Prilosec and a really good probiotic daily. Reflux gone. Not an issue.
  15. Oh P.S. this may be TMI but after about 3-4 days you will have the most productive, amazing BM's ever. I know that is an issue for some of us.
  16. I am 7 weeks as well. Try these two things... they made a WORLD of difference for me when it came to being able to eat comfortably. I am actually a little annoyed my surgeon didn't recommend anything like this. Prilosec daily and this probiotic is cheap and literally the best I've ever used. Combine the two in the morning before you eat and it will help. Probiotic: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005P0NYFI/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 P.S. I am not getting paid if you click that link. lol Though I should, I recommend to everyone.
  17. This might be TMI for some of the ladies but now I am starting to totally understand why all the guys in the Mens Room talk so much about their weiners. 7 weeks out and 60 pounds down, all I can say is WOWSERS!

  18. I think if I drink one more protein shake I'm going to puke.

  19. Caffine is not recommended at first but when you start to heal up you can have whatever kind of caffine you like. I drink a cup of Americano esspresso (sugar free) every morning on my way to work.

do not go to St marks Utah!

Call your insurance company and report a suspicion of fraud and explain the numbers on your statement compared to the numbers discussed with you. They will lead you in the right direction. If the insurance company suspects fraud they will red flag that hospital. Not sure what happens after that though.

    No ice cream?

I waited until after week 6 to venture into a little bit of ice cream. And when I say "little bit" I mean about 3-4 small spoonfuls to curb a craving. You just had surgery last week. Just because it's a liquid doesn't mean its okay to consume at such an early stage. Lets hope that you didn't do any further internal damage.
  22. I feel the same way. The other day they had pizza at work and I had no desire for it at all.
  23. OMG I'm "stuck" at 302. Next day 303. Next day 302. I've been this way for a week and it's getting on my nerves!

    Salad

I have friends who have been eating salad since 6 weeks. I am at 7 now and haven't tried it yet but I am venturing out this week to try some. I miss veggies.
