Flavorless protein powder
BayshoreBuddy replied to Elliejmiller's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Hi EllieJ, last week my bariatric group was discussing the urge to chew when on a liquid diet. Someone mentioned their chunky-soup method as a way of getting something to chew while on a liquid diet. It sounded like an excellent idea and also got laughs. Have a fantastic weekend. -
Flavorless protein powder

This is good to know when flavored protein loses its appeal. Thanks for the heads up on flavorless protein. -
Thanking the lord for this amazing change!
BayshoreBuddy replied to thankfully's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Wow, congratulations! Indeed, the Lord does work in mysterious ways. -
I am pre-op and can tell you that you are not alone in having one last "dance" with your dietary favorites before bariatric surgery. Dieting is hard, liquid diets are harder, and post-op dieting is forever. Good luck with your dieting.

Who lost weight NO Carbs and who lost weight with out cutting out a ton of carbs?
BayshoreBuddy replied to joliem6201's topic in Food and Nutrition
It is nearly impossible to completely avoid carbohydrates. The problem is the bodies natural affinity for foods it can convert into simple sugars. My downfall was Pasta, w/cheese, w/gravy, in casseroles, even microwaved leftovers; that is how I got to where I am today, morbidly obese. Just be careful when it comes to enjoying a few carbs. -

Need Birthday Meal Ideas
BayshoreBuddy replied to Canary Diamond's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I suggest the secret is portion control and avoiding your trigger foods. -
With all due respect, this person was not and is not your friend. Depending on your respective jobs, you can maintain a professional workplace. Life is short, don't waste your time on Ms. Petty Me's problems

pre op trouble sleeping
BayshoreBuddy replied to Marissa Thiessen's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor bases the length of pre-op dieting on BMI. My BMI calls for one week; but, based on what I have read on this and other bariatric blogs, I have decided to do 2 weeks. My thinking is to tune up my metabolism to get a head start on losing weight. I have done the diet and health club routine and learned that I do not lose weight, I merely misplace it, only to "find" it when I fall off the diet wagon. This time, compliments of my sleeved stomach, I am committed to following my Doctor's advice. -
Emotionally eating a protein shake

Relax, don't let the practice's paralegal get you upset. Based on your lawyer's being aware of your financial circumstances, you may want to talk directly with her/him to set up a payment plan that works for both of you. Continue working your pre-op dieting, good luck on Wednesday, and keep your focus on achieving you goal. Good Luck! -
pre op trouble sleeping
BayshoreBuddy replied to Marissa Thiessen's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am gradually moving into my pre-op diet but I suspect that my erratic sleeping may be caused by my approaching 9/3 surgery date. I am not afraid, rather my mind seems to race when I am trying to cycle down and go to sleep. Let's face it, we will be making major changes in our lifestyles - no small issue. My go to is Melatonin - maybe this will help you too. -
September Sleevers...! Come on in and chat!
BayshoreBuddy replied to birdmadgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, all pre-op testing completed and scheduled for September 3rd. Cutting down on meals and converting to all liquid by August 15th. Attending monthly group meetings and reading bariatric blogs. Considering my weight and associated health problems, I consulted my doctors and received positive responses to my plans for bariatric surgery. My family is totally supportive, I am ready for my surgery, and I am committed to following my doctor's recommendations. Many thanks to other bloggers who are sharing their stories and solutions as we fight the good fight. -
This is good to hear, thanks for sharing.

Somehow knowing this is normal helps make the first few days easier to deal with, Thanks!
