    Back pain

Yes, I too have been having pain in the middle of my back. I am almost one week post op. I hope you are right about the Co2 because I would like to go off the pain meds.

    Traveling For Surgery

Why are people going to Mexico for this surgery? Is it because they don't have insurance?

    protein shakes

I am four days post-op and have found that I enjoy Pure Protein, Frosty Chocolate (it can be purchased at Trader Joe's or at Wal-Mart). Best of luck to you!

    Scale is my enemy

But isn't it so much nicer to be addicted to the scale rather than afraid of it (like we were before, LOL!)
  5. Thanks TES. Constipation is another problem. I have not had a bowel movement since before my surgery. I was sleeved on Thursday (four days ago). Wondering if i should take a laxative?

    July 2013 Sleevers

Dear July Sleevers, Are Protein shakes part of the 64 ounces? Or do we not include them in the total goal of 64 ounces? I was sleeved on Thursday (July 25) and am now four days out (wow, can't believe it, so surreal). Thanks in advance for your insight!
  7. Oh, thank you DeniseM! Your post put me at ease! And TJL, yes, I noticed that too. Guess I just worry way too much!
  8. Thanks so much KatlnFL. Been through so much and want to make sure that I am doing everything right.
  9. Dear Forum Friends, I am four days post-op (had my surgery on Thursday). I am freaking out right now because I just noticed (from reading the nutrition label) that the Protein shakes I've been forcing myself to drink contain three grams of dietary Fiber. Specifically, the brand is Pure Protein, Frosty chocolate (purchased at Wal-Mart). I'm supposed to be on a liquid diet for two weeks. Isn't fiber a solid, and thus hard on my new stomach? Have I injured myself? I went online and looked up other shakes that are popular and found many of them contain fiber. For example: Premier Protein Shake: 2 grams of dietary fiber Unjury Chocolate Splendor: 1 gram of dietary fiber Pure Protein vanilla Creme Shakes: 2 grams of dietary fiber Pure Protein Frosty Chocolate: 3 grams dietary fiber Nature's Best® Isopure Zero Carb - Stawberries and Cream: 2 grams of dietary fiber Can anyone shed some light on this? I am very worried!!!
  10. Yes! I'm three days post-op and have been remarking since the day after my surgery that my sense of smell has become more intense! I notice things I never noticed before! It makes me think it has to be related!

  12. I had gastric sleeve surgery July 25 (Thursday). I came home from the hospital yesterday after a two-day stay, and today I had my first protein shake -- Pure Protein, vanilla, which I think is too sweet. Got it at Wal-Mart. Can anyone share their preferences for these shakes? I couldn't even finish the first one, it was THAT bad. How am I going to get 60 grams of protein in each day? It seems like it's going to be a struggle. Tips welcome!
  13. I had my surgery Thursday and I left with a drain. I think I heard that my doctor sends all of his sleeve patients home on a drain. It's not been a big deal. I just have to empty it a couple of times a day and measure it. I'm supposed to get it out next week! Good luck with your recovery!
  14. Hi everyone, I'm 28 and had my surgery Thursday at St. Agnes in Baltimore. Home now, on a drain, trying to drink and get enough Protein. I'm wondering, does anybody else have back pain after surgery? I don't know if it was just that awful bed at the hospital or if this is related to the surgery? Glad I found this forum! It's great!
