    My Favorite Mexican Food

Reading this did a doozy on my taste buds. As I am 9 days in on liquid diet. I am sure I wont be able to make this for a long time but I am looking so forward to it. Thanks for sharing.
  2. I could not have said it better Oakleygirl.
  3. I am traveling thousands of miles away from home. I have not had my VSG yet. I will have my surgery on August 6. I know many women like me who travel to Mexico. I don't know your situation and why you are choosing to go to Texas however I believe once I am home and if any complications arise, which I pray it there won't be, I can go to any nearby hospital for care.

4 days post op, doing well!

Thank you for the update. You are very positive and that is the key. Keep giving us those post!
  5. Is anyone from Canada? I will sleeve Aug 6, 2013 with Dr. Lopez in Tijuana, Mexico. In January 2013 I weighed in at 272 pounds. My height is 5' 6. As of Monday July 29th I weighed in at 256 pounds. My goal weight is 172. I am so nervous and excited all rolled up in 1. No one in my world besides my daughter, boyfriend and very good friend knows I am having the surgery. I do not want negative feedback so I choose no feedback at all. That was a very hard decision to make because I live in Canada, I am having my surgery in Mexico and majority of my family is in the States. I could have had the surgery here in Canada for free but at 46 years old I did not want to be on a waiting list for 2 plus years. I pray to God I am making the right decision with this surgery. I have read so may positive outcomes so I feel the Vertical Sleeve is far more the safest with the best outcome. Thanks for hearing my story. Cheers!

2 months post op with pics

Girl you look absolutely amazing. Keep it up. You said the rough patch is over. Please tell me about your rough patch so I can have a heads up what may happen to me.
  9. Thanks all for you help. I am not sure why the pharmacist made a big deal on what kind of laxative I needed. Well only 1 week to go. i am nervous and excited as well. Can anyone tell me how did they feel after the surgery? Was anyone nauseated? Janese, the coordinator, says some patients go shopping in about 2 days post-op. I sure hope I am one of them that can do that. My pain tolerance is zero to none. Again thanks all for your feedback.
  10. Hi Newbie. I may just run into you at the hotel. My pre-op is going good so far. I find myself just a little tired with a headache. Not sure if it is the lack of food or no coffee. I miss coffee the most. I look forward to my evening meals. I find myself running home to cook. My daughter decided to do this with me we cook together and it is great for our mother/daughter relationship. What is the name of the protein shakes you found with 30 grams of protein?. Let's keep in touch. I hope to see you in TJ!
  11. Update: Janese has called and she is answering all my questions. But I would still be elated if anyone could give me their personal advice.
  12. I am coming from SK Canada I have a 8 hour lay over in Calgary
  13. I am schedule for my sleeve on August 6, 2013 with Dr. Lopez. Janese is my coordinator and whenever I try to call I have to leave a message which is okay because to me that means she giving someone her undivided attention. However, she does not call back she responds with an email. I am very unhappy with that. I have so many questions. For example, because my flight is 14 hours long how I am supposed to take a laxative. I arrive at 10 pm that night the day before my surgery. Also, what kind of laxative? I went to a pharmacist and they thought I had lost my mind telling them I needed a laxative for pre-op and could not tell them what kind. I would like to know what to bring, what to expect? Do I need to bring my won food?? Someone please help. So many questions and so little answers in less than 2 weeks away.
