I sure hope not as much as they are getting paid for the surgery , I'm still awaiting my date I was just approved by my insurance .

I just found out today I was approved by my insurance company 100 % on the first try. Now all I have to do is wait to get a surgery date.

Thank you both, now I just have to wait to be contacted by the clinic to get my date. I was informed that I have to meet with the surgeon again and fill out admission paperwork .

Hi no I didn't have to make this choice my insurance required a 6 month weight management and it has now been 8 months and i was just approved 100 percent today and I am awaiting a surgery date. I have learned valuable information during this time, I have learned my triggers as well as how to eat properly as well as loose weight . Unless you can afford to pay the 20 percent out of pocket I would do the 6 months waiting period because you can learn alot about eating healthy. I would encourage you to start a journal because it has help me see that I was over eating to deal with stress and emotional issues. Good luck and congrats on being healthy.

I was told as long as I was drinking my protein shakes in and water I was good, but it is always best to ask your doctor good luck.

Crissymcclendon thats great news I have to wait until 3/24/14 to be contacted so that i can get my date, the lady who does that i son vacation until next Wednesday , so the department informed me today I should be contacted no later thank the 24. I am so excited it has been 8 months but I have learned better eating habits and have found ton of support from members here on this website. Have you begun sample protein shakes yet?

Hi and congrats I just got word today that I am 100 percent approved by BCBN today and now all I have to do is wait on a surgery date. I got approved on my first try yippee.

I agree I have jut completes my medical clearance and my insurance informed me it is a 48 hour turn around once they get the information from the doctors for approval but I would stay on it because it is important to you not them. Good luck.

Hi I would do as the above suggested and drink plenty of Water as well as see if you can drink crystal light before preping for this procedure i used to drink a 2 liter of diet pop a day and hated crystal ligh, I have now learned to not drink pop because it streches your pouch and drink crystal light, i gave up pop 7 months ago and honestly I do not miss it , I think that you will get to feel the same too soon. I would have the surgery and wear depends as suggested, the reason that i am saying this is because insurance company changes all the time and if you wait you may have to redo some test or see the nut again because they may be afraid that you are having second thoughts. You need to relax and get adjusted because this will be your new life and getting back into the swing of things are very vital . I wish you the best.

Hello everyone congrats on your choice to be healthy , I had to do the 6 month weight management and it has now been 8 months and i am still in the process i just met with the surgeon at Henry Ford Hospital in MI and have to meet with him one more time before surgery s schedule. Just remember everyone to use this time while waiting to change your eating habits their are great people here who are always willing to help you stay on track , listening to your concerns, venting, provide encouragement.
