Hi I do not regret having my surgery and I would do it all over again I am 3 weeks post opt and my health has greatly approved I was a diabetic type 2 and no longer on any diabetic medications and I was taking 6 shots a day of insulin, I am off high cholesterol medication and I am only taking a half pill my blood pressure medication and will be off that soon. The first couple of days were rough with the gas but after the gas came out I was feeling great with the exception of a back pain that lasted a week. I have lost almost 40 pounds at 3 weeks post opt and I am looking toward more weight lost. Good luck.

Hi I agree with the above statements check with your insurance company because they are suppose to use your starting BMI. Good look and congrats on your choice to be healthy. Keep u posted.

Hi I would began to watch what I eat the weight will come off even if you do not loose the total amount required what your doctor is looking for to see if you can make the necessary changes now so that you will be successful good luck.

HI i have to agree with the above suggestion it is very important that you follow your doctors orders because they know what is best for you. If you follow there orders and relax I am sure you will do great. Good Luck.

Hi I believe you can do this if you decide your health and happiness must come first before anyone . If you lost a friend then they were not truly a friend because friends want you to be happy and healthy. Don't let their disapproval stop you from being healthy and robbing you of years of happiness as well as healthy good luck my friend .

Everyone is different, some people don't follow the rules and revert back to bad habits , stay focus trust in your judgement good luck.

The pain is bearable and I had gasx strips and chewable and that help, the more you walk the gas comes out.

Hi I'm sorry that he is having so much pain try using a heating pad on the pain site that help me , I even slept with it and it help me more than pain meds, all my pain meds did was make me sleep for hours good luck and keep us posted .

Hi add a heating pad to the side you should feel and sleep better.

I took off 3 weeks and today was my first day back and it was great, I was not tired and had a good day.

Today was my first day back at work after taking 3 weeks off for my surgery it was an easy day, I ate my protein first and I was not tired at all, I sip on my water all day and it was a good day. I am glad that I was ready.

Hi I had the gastric bypass and I was taking off all my diabetic medication high blood pressure and high cholesterol before I left the hospital, I was injecting myself 5 times a day this surgery was a Godsend. Good luck to you all.

Wow you are ready congrats on your prep as well as your choice to be healthy did you get sugar free popsickles to help with your Water intake? What about sugar free cool whip to take with your actigal and sugar free Jello and pudding, your on the right track and I look forward to your post. Good luck and sending you a speedy recovery.
