  1. Hi I'm 6 months post opt and down 86 pounds I just came out of another stall but I'm healthy and focus, I'm off all diabetes medication, high blood pressure, as well as high chloysterial . I can now wear a size large shirt from a 3 x and large yogu pants . Work out 5 days a week and can't believe the confidence I have and so many compliments I received. Negative speaking people who I thought were my friends were not they are intimidated by my weight lost because I'm getting so much attention , but positive speaking I have met new like minded healthy people at my gym and I'm feeling great and staying positive. I still hate the stalls but that is to be expected I'm learning how to be me and love me , and focus on me being healthy .

    To be sleeved or bypass?

I agree with the above statements due to my diabetics and history of upset stomach I choose the bypass and I do not regret it, I only wanted to have one surgury without any revisions as well as it is the gold standard , I could not risk any additional surgery , as well as time off from work so I wanted to get it right on the first go around and with insurance ever so changing I was not going to risk a denial when my insurance covered a 100%. Good luck .

And I have had stalls it's just goes with the procedure, stay focus and do as your doctor says, you are to hard on yourself in-which you should be congratulating yourself .
  14. My doctor says no drinking water 30 minutes before any meal or 30 minutes after, but always check with your doctor.
  15. I agree with all the above statements stalls will happen and occur, stay focus on working on one day at a time, I am now 6 months post opt and i just attended a refocus group today that my bariatric group had, it was good discussing accountability, staying focus on protein/ exercise and to not weigh your self daily, they suggest you weigh yourself once per week if you must. We had the opportunity to meet people who were 10 years post opt up until 2 weeks. And that stalls are normal and your body is always adjusting to the new you. Congrats on your choice to being healthy and keep us posted on your progress. Your new you is so worth it.
  16. I agree with the above statement it depends on your insurance and your doctors program, must insurance company as well as doctor programs want to see your effort toward change to see if you are willing to make the necessary changes that you will have to do to become successful as well as they want to make sure your liver shrinks so that you wont have a fatty liver. Good luck my friend and keep us posted.
