First congrats on you both for being healthy, loosing what you have lost so far is great so not worry the weight will come off just focus on getting in your protein walking and water. You will have many stalls which are normal and you must remember your body is adjusting you just had major surgery . Focus on one day at a time and making good choices good luck my friend . -
Lol I thought it was just me , my family always tease me about this all the time and think inam crazy , I am glad this is common.

At what age would you have Weight Loss Surgery (WLS) if you had a do-over?
Cupcake replied to JustWatchMe's topic in The Lounge
If I had to do it all over again i would have had my procedure at 26 when I started gaining weight after my second child and could not get it off. But i am happy that I was able to get it done now better late than never. -
Thats great congrats and thanks for sharing you have done awsume.
-
LOL I agree with the above statement grilled or bake your wings it is better for you and then you can always put a light sauce on them.
-
I agree with the above statement do not be so hard on yourself you did not gain weight overnight, you are retaining fluids, the weight will come off focus on one day at a time. You can do this you got this, and remember it can take 6 to 8 weeks for your body to heal.

Fantasize about the bad food....
Cupcake replied to lvan83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi it is normal to have the feelings that you are having. You have lost a friend with food, but you will find her again but make healthier choices, just because you had surgery does not mean you can not enjoy some of your favorite things again, trust me your taste buds will changes, what you once love you will no love later on. I had to set an alarm on my cell phone just to remind me to eat, although the smell of food may be enticing you will find out that you really do not want them and it may just be head hunger. When you get hungry try drinking some Water first to determined are you really hunger or just want food because it is a old habit, also focus on why you are wanting to eat is it because your hungry, bored, depress, stress? You will figure this out and we are all here to help one another. I am 9 months post opt and I focus on one day at a time and making healthy choices. Good luck. -
You are doing great and congrats on your choice on being healthy. You have to take each day one at a time and focus on making good choice, we already know what bad choices are and what they do to you, when you see how good you feel and the new doors that open up to you that you can engage in , you will be amaze. You can set small goals for yourself as well as rewards and achieve them , for example one goal may be crossing your legs. I have learned to reward myself for making good choices, such as since I go to the gym and work out 2 hours five days a week my reward to myself have been a new dress, new underwear even shopping at the consignment stores. My self esteem has improved greatly and the comments as well as how I am look upon in envy has been new but trust me I am adjusting. This surgery has also shown me people true colors and those people who were not good for me I drop. Good luck.

How about some NSVs!?!?
Cupcake replied to shyanne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can now wear a size 12/14 dress and make everyone in a room stand at attention in aww. Doors open for me, I am treated with envy and respect. And now I am the one of the most beautiful ladies in the room and positive center of attention. And I must say I strut my 3 inch heels like the best of them while the haters just look. -
Coworkers talking.. "she had something done"
Cupcake replied to jackie's journey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with the above statements you do not owe anyone anything its none of their business, I would simply tell them all my personal life is just mine personal and if they can not be happy for you wanting to be healthy and making healthier eating choices thats their problem, but if they make any additional comments that you will file harassment claim. Hold your head high and tell the haters off. -
confused and think I have been doing this wrong......
Cupcake replied to acbayliss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should not be drinking water at less 30 minutes before a meal or after is what my doctor says. Good look I hoe this helps. -
Was there ever a time after surgery when you felt like this is enough, I don't have any more energy for this struggle
Cupcake replied to Homecie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with the above statements you are to hard on yourself, you should focus on one day at a time and making good choices, you already know what overweight feels like it sounds to me that you are afraid of success. You are almost at your goal weight and have proven to yourself and everyone that being healthy is obtainable. Stalls are going to happen its normal I just turned 9 months post opt and I am down 100 pounds and I have had many stalls. I still have about 65 pounds I want to loose and I know that I will get there. You say that you are tired of making new meals why dont you prepare your shopping list for food as you like to eat, if you do not like cooking find alternative healthy food such as tuna its cheap and good for you, you can also buy precut chicken breast al you would have to do is put it in the microwave. This is a lifestyle change. I hope this helps you. Good luck. -
"Fat Acceptance" Did Me No Favors - Meandering thoughts about my psych eval
Cupcake replied to Sharon1964's topic in Rants & Raves
First I would like to say congrats on your choice on being healthy, I am sorry that you have experience such challenges in your life but it has made you stronger and the person that you are now which is a strong, smart, person. This new chapter in your life will show you how strong you have become. I also agree with your statement that fat acceptance is something new and that I personal believed that society has created instead to build self esteem. I also agree that we tell ourselves we are really not that big and compare ourselves to others until we really look at ourselves and address why we are abusing food, As you stated we all have abuse food rather it was boredom, not feeling love, not being accepted, or some bad event in our lives. This surgery has afforded us the opportunity to have a second chance in life and I wish you and everyone else a happy new start. -
How long does it take to know if you are approved?
Cupcake replied to roni99123's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Anyone else in a stall?
Cupcake replied to Stephanie Ged's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I agree with the above statements stalls will happen and continue to happened just focus on one day at a time, continue to follow your doctors orders, exercise, drink your Water as well as Protein and the weight will come off, even when the scale does not move you are loosing inches, its normal. Try not to weigh in everyday although I know it may be hard. I am 9 months post opt as of yesterday and I have had many stalls but I am down 100 pounds . I am not at my goal weight yet but I know I will be stay focus and congrats on your choice on being healthy. -
Jacilleggs you have done great congrats, your concern has come up in my support groups by a few that's post opt and those who are preopt .have you set your goal or was it preset by your doctor.? Most doctors goals are different then our own personal goals, it was debated at group that each person knows what they want to loose as well as look like and as long as their taking the vitamins eating healthy and test are coming back its ok. Honestly speaking it was also shared that most people would have love to be in this predictiment . Their problem is loosing weight ., and constant stalls. My problem are stalls but I know they are normal , but I am determined like yourself and I know I will reach my own personal goal by staying focus. Good luck and keep us informed of your progress.

Cupcake replied to Annek2014's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi hang in there just remember to follow your doctors rules and goals the weight will come off . In regars to telling coworkers I have not told anyone and I still get ask the questions constantly what are you doing to loose weight , even if you tell people they are not willing to take the necessary steps to be healthy. Focus on one day at a time and eating healthy. When your coworkers ask about your weight just tell them it's an ongoing process to being healthy and your staying the course good luck . By the way loosing weight slowly has beniits it allows you skin to stretch back in place . -

Day 4 Post Op Need Your Advice on the Nitty Gritty Please?
Cupcake replied to Christina44's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hi you might want to check with your doctor about the gritty thing after your Protein shake, are you mixing the protein with enough Water or milk? I heard the bulliet blender is excellent, myself I but the premix Protein shakes, at sams club, i drink premiere protein shakes because when I bought the mix no matter what I did it was gritty. In regards to the tongue why dont you purchase biotein spray or their toothpaste this should help you. Congrats on your choice to being healthy and welcome to the losers bench.
