Working Out Again..when?
Cupcake replied to Focused1103's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After I had my 2 week checkup I was approved to work out lightly at the gym -
I have not told anyone t my job because it is non of their business, in regards to what you tell people I would tell them the truth, hard work, watching watch you eat, exercise, and limiting your sugar intake.
-
I agree with the above comments it depends on where you carry your weight and your age as well as exercise plays a great role in this I exercise 5 days per week and i look great in clothes but still have saggy skin in my stomach area I am currently preparing to meet with my plastic surgeon to discuss options but I know I must be a year to a year in a half out. Good luck.

Cupcake replied to JerseyCityGal's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I agree I think I would wait until I have lost all of my weight before having the surgury you have the support of your doctor so I would trust in them and just wear a body shaper until you reach your goal , I am thinking about a mommie makeover now but I have been told I have to wait at least 1 yearbtom2 years I'm only 9 months post opt. Good luck -

Cupcake replied to flashkiki's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stay focus on one day at a time, and ensuring your getting in your protein water and exercise don't be do hard on yourself your body has to adjust to the major surgury you just had . -
My baractric life there would be no need for affairs if people were truly honest with one another and married people they are compatible with and get to know one another instead of just jumping into the bed with them . I believe the only universal right is tp truly find your soul mate , marry that person and honor your marriage vows and be honest with oneself .

Starting out at age 45? How common?
Cupcake replied to KS123's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
LOL it is very common I had my procedure at 43 and turned 44 , 3 days later I do not regret anything except I wish I had it early. I am loving life again and I am off all my medications this was a life saver and I am feeling beautiful everyday. Good luck on your surgery and congrats for making the choice to be healthy. -
Weight loss frustration
Cupcake replied to PrincessDeb's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Stay focus and I agree with the above statements you should be happy for every pound and ounce that you loose because without the surgery you would not have done that, you have lost a lot of weight in such a short period of time, you should be proud, plateaus are normal and you are going to have plenty just remember to stay focus and take one day at a time. the weight will come off, and congrats to all of you for making the choice to be healthy. -
I would emailed my surgeon 24 hour hot line or call them for suggestion or speak with the pharmacy directly to see what they recommend base on your surgery good luck.

I don't know what to do! Help please
Cupcake replied to AWD12368's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ad12368 the reason that they gained the weight back as with all WLS is because they did not follow their doctors orders, you can not eat whatever you want and not exercise, if you eat more than you are willing to burn off then you will have weight gain and thats with surgery or not. People consumed to many calories and refuse to exercise. As far as hanging skin goes you will have hanging or stretch skin rather you have the wls or not if you do not have the surgery you have hanging skin do to excessive amount of fat at least with the wls and you do what you are required to do and exercise you can minimize the amount of skin you have hanging through exercise. I have lost 100 pounds and I look great I work out 5 days a week for 2 hours . I watch what I eat and hold myself accountable for my actions. I eat to live not live to eat anymore. Most people overeat because of some issue they have going on rather it be stress eating, depression, comfort their is always a source to why people over eat. You must remember WLS is a tool only yo must do the hard work and be willing to make the necessary changes that is need to loose weight. Also regarding appearance and confidence , your confidence goes way up and you are finally seen as a person and with envy not the butt of everyone joke. I know that I was also tired of everyone telling me I had such a pretty face now I have the body that match and I have been happily married for 20 years. You will see changes as well as people will show their true colors friends who you thought were friends were not they became upset because you are getting healthy and changing. Do not let fear prevent you from being healthy no matter what choice you make. Good luck and keep me posted. -
I don't know what to do! Help please
Cupcake replied to AWD12368's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi you must work with your surgeon and do whats best for you my surgeon would not even consider the band and very few doctors would or insurance covers it because of complications , I would think about what is best for you and how much weight you want to loose and the success rate of all. I had no complications and very little pain. I would research everything and work with my surgeon to make the best decision, you should ask your surgeon as well as yourself why he choose the bypass over the band. Good luck. -
I like the books better but the movie was great, they did a nice reenactment of the book and made it tasteful. The reality is this is something that occurs more often then people want to admit, and if they were honest with themselves as well as their signifiant others then we would not have affairs and things would not be taboo. As stated above if you have two consenting adults , and they love one another what goes on in their bedroom is no one business, personal I do not see anything wrong with consenting adults who are both in agreement to experience their sexuality and sex life anyway they chose to as long as the are not hurting or taking advantage of anyone else, I say keep an open mind.

Sleeve or bypass?!
Cupcake replied to cosmogirl2535's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cosmorgirl2535 had the option of both and my surgeon and I finalize the decision to have RNY do to the fact that i have acid reflex as well as I wanted to loose 162 pounds. So far I am 9 months post opt and have lost 100 pounds , I am confident that I will reach my goal , I had no complications with my surgery and I felt so great that I could have went back to work after 5 days after surgery. You are tired but your body adjust, I also did not want to run the risk of having gerd or more acid reflex resulting in a conversion to RNY I wanted to have surgery only once and to take off only once. I made the best decision and I am so happy that I did and would do it again in a heartbeat. My only regret is that I did not do it sooner. Good luck. -
My story that I think is a success!
Cupcake replied to angelinnc32's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Angelinnc32 wow I understand now, I do agree with your statement that it seems unfair since you never set a direct goal and now you have one. I am sure you will reach that goal as your doctor is suggesting and then you can have your surgery. Keep us posted on your progress. I will not even be considered until after its has been 1 year , but now i am wondering if I should wait until i am 2 years post opt, if I have to get to 200 pounds I still have 32 more pounds to go and my personal goal is 170. -
My story that I think is a success!
Cupcake replied to angelinnc32's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Angelinnc32 congrats on your weight lost and your choice to being healthy you have done an amazing job , thank you for sharing your story because it is an inspiration , does your doctor state why you must be 200 pounds even? I am sure it is not a health issue , my doctor told me that I can not have any surgery to remove any skin until I am at least 1year post opt and he really perfers two years post opt unless you are having major complications. Because he states by then you would have lost all that you are going to loose , I am currently 9 months post opt and I am looking forward to loosing more weight. Good luck and keep us posted, by the way have you considered going to a different doctor for your surgery?
