Everyone seems to be quiet lately.... must be busy busy busy with holidays and everything else that comes with this time of the year. What happend to Dinni? Well just wanted to stop by and say hello! Anyone have anygood progress pictures to show everyone for inspiration? Whenever I feel blah i go to the before and after section... makes me feel all better again! LoL

The vest looks more comfortable but the full body one would look great with some new small clothes! Btw... i have read your whole thread and thank you so much for sharing. Can't wait to see your pictures once you are all recovered!

Morning everyone! Today we start yet another week... Only 14 days until Christmas! (i actually LOVE Christmas, its my favorite time of the year) Today I think im going to do a little bit more shopping and some wrapping... So... How are everyones scars doing? Does anyone have any suggestions for good scar treatments? My dr. said mine are doing well, but i have fair skin and they seem to stand out SO MUCH when its cold. haha Ok off to work!!!

Ok so i have a question for everyone... After my 3rd fill I am finally starting to feel restriction! yay! Its actually very exciting. So my question is... I have noticed most of the time with the first bite... even if i make sure to chew A LOT it hurts when it goes down. I heard someone mention something like first bite syndrom or something... is this common? Let me know if you guys have this also. Thanks!!!!

That is very interesting.... I just got my band in July and she was already Sacramento Bariatrics... but I did not get a fee? Maybe its something even newer. My insurance covered most of the surgery i had to pay a percentage. Her conservativness with the fills does bother me. Everyone in the office has explained why they do it though and it does make sense. They want you to slowley re learn how to eat so you dont PB or throw up a lot. BUT i think a week or 2 would be enough... 6 is a long time! LoL But, everything else im really happy with. The surgery went really well, my inscisions were very small i had only a little gas pain in my shoulder on the 2nd or 3rd day after the surgery. OHHHH this was one other thing that turned me off to the NP in the office. I had my 1 week post op apt and wasnt taking my pain meds regularly anymore but only had about 1 more dose left. So I asked for a refill knowing i was going back to work and would probably be sore when i got home, and she gave me a really REALLY hard time about it. I'm sorry but I come from a medical family and a medical provider takes a vow to help and believe the patient no matter what. This is also why i think they should give fills more agressivley. Ok enough of my ranting. Dr. M is a very down to earth type of person she doesnt really sugarcoat things... If you have any more questions let me know!

Hey Indio I am in Sacramento to bad we arent closer! The fill went really really well my Dr. felt bad because i told her i had NO restriction what so ever so instead of giving me .50cc like she had said was her rule on the 3rd fill she gave me 1. cc!!! I was so happy. She said I would DEFF feel restriction now. I had soup for dinner so that isnt a very good judge but am hoping for the best! yay! im excited now!

Hello! I also have Dr. Machado and when you say program fee do you mean a fee at the orientation? Because the answer is no. I really like Dr. Machado. My only advice for someone looking into the band, dont expect to drop weight super fast in the begining. Dr. M's office is a tad on the conservative side with the fills. You HAVE to wait 6 weeks in between no matter what. First fill 1cc second fill 2cc then after that its .50cc then down to .25. Dr.M is more likely to give you more but not the nurse practitioner. Okay if you have ANY questions feel free to ask.

Well guys I finally figured out how to work this website on my blackberry (cellphone with internet) yay! Now I will post more often. I always feel like everyone is sleeping by the time I get on line at night. (I'm in California) okay I'm in the waiting room waiting to go in for my 3rd fill. Wish me luck!

My doctor is also very conservative. I asked if i could some in soon since i dont have any restriction yet and they said no, i have to wait 6 to 8 weeks. I think that we should be able to come in every 2 weeks until we have good restriction then it should be every 6 weeks or as needed. I am going in for my 3rd fill tomorrow so i am really REALLY hoping for some restriction!

Julie I enjoy reading your threads so much! Your pictures give me so much inspiration! I really agree with your theory of when you need a fill you should get one. I am dealing with my surgeon who will only alow us to get fills ever six weeks. The first fill was 1 cc the second 1cc then anything after that is .25!!! I feel like im not going to have good restriction for a year! I have tried talking to them and they just keep saying these are their rules. hmmm.. Well non the less you have really inspired me! Thanks for opening up and sharing your life on this board. Post new pictures, keep us inspired!!!!!
