How exciting Linda!!! Congratulations!

OwEEE Karri! That sounds like it hurts.... speaking of the port area hurting... when I wake up in the morning my port is very sore. I told the Dr and the nurse about it and they looked at me like i was strange? Then I said well i sleep on my stomach and they said "hmm well maybe that is why". Just an odd answer. Neither of them are banded and I think it makes a big difference when your NP or DR is banded themselves. oh well. Ok... so I think I have seen it mentioned here... but the salad dressing spritzer thing by Wish Bone. BEST THING EVER!!! LoL I got the Balsamic vinegerete one... it is so yummy. And just 1 cal per spritz! Okay that is all... Okay... my friend gave me this recipe. It sounds yummy its from weight watchers so it has the point value and stuff. I havent tried it yet so if anyone does, let me know how it is! Creamy Potato Soup with Roasted Garlic 1 garlic bulb, cloves separated (unpeeled) 2 cups of reduced sodium chicken broth 4 teaspoons olive oil 1 onion chopped 1 ¼ pounds of russet potatoes, peeled and cubed 1 bay leaf 2 cups of low fat buttermilk 1 (10 ounce) box frozen chopped green beans, thawed ½ cup lean ham chopped Freshly ground pepper to taste To roast the garlic, preheat the oven or toaster over to 350, line a small shallow baking pan with foil. In the pan combine the garlic, ¼ cup of the broth, and 2 teaspoons of the oil. Cover with foil and bake until the cloves are soft and have absorbed all the liquid, about 1 hour. When the cloves are cool enough to handle, squeeze their pulp out of their papery skins and reserve. To prepare the soup, in a large nonstick saucepan of dutch oven over medium heat, heat the remaining 2 teaspoons of oil. Sauté the onions until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the remaining 1 ¾ cups of broth, the potatoes, garlic pulp, and bay leaf; bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, covered, until the potatoes are soft 15 – 20 minutes. Discard the bay leaf, remover 1 cup of the cooked potatoes with a slotted spoon and set aside. Transfer remaining potato onion mixture to a blender or food processor: puree. Return to the saucepan and stir in the reserved potato chunks, buttermilk, green beans, and ham. Heat, serve and sprinkle with pepper. Per serving (1/4 of soup)(im sure we would eat less!): 272 cal, 6 grams of fat, 14 grams of protein, 43 grams of carbs. POINTS Value: 5

Yummy! I wish everyone would post more recipes!!! In bandland its VERY easy to get bored with eating someone over and over and over... LoL
-
Thank you Janet! It's always nice to hear someone has noticed because sometimes its hard to tell yourself. I went in for my 4th fill last week and I am FINALLY feeling restriction. I am so excited. (i have one of those dr's who will only let you come in to get a fill every 6 weeks) so its been a slow process. Sometimes I get really discouraged because I see everyone who has lost 60, 70 pounds and im not losing that fast. But it does feel good to hear someone can see a difference. LoL Hopefully now that i have some restriction the pounds will start falling off! haha! I still dont feel tight, but maybe in another 5 weeks! agh... my dr. is so conservative! LoL Have a good day everyone!
-
Another thing I was thinking about today is... i get SO TIRED of whatever I make because i feel like i have 20 servings of it! LoL
-
Phyl you look great!! Its always so amazing to see the pictures because its hard to tell when you look at yourself everyday in the mirror... but when u can compare to pictures its like WOW!!! Good Job!!
-
This is a great idea... one thing that i love to make is a tortilla Soup but an easy version... you can blend this also during the liqued puried stage 4 c chicken broth 1 can of cooked chicken meat 1 small jar of salsa (either mild or hot depending on what you like) 1 can of black Beans drained 1 can of corn drained Depending on your cals. some possible additions for topping it off would be fat free sourcream, fat free cheese, avocado, and some tortilla chips. Personalize it how you like it! Keep us updated on your book! I cant wait! I havent been able to find many special lapband books. Thanks!!!
-
Janet, how do u cook your fish? Just out of curiosity. LoL
-
Who watches Big Medicine? Yay! Its back on!
-
Its okay!!! Everything will be alright! You cant get discouraged now, look how close you are to goal! You know the band is, something you really have to baby it. One of the things I did during liquids was get the unjury plain flavor and add it to brooth, jello, pudding, etc. it helps a little! This is just one of the many hurdles in bandland, but you are doing an awesome job! Keep up the good work!

Julie!!! How are things going???? Did you have your LAST surgery!?!?! -
Hello everyone! Just checking in, things have been so so so busy for my at work. I am still feeling a little swollen after my last pb... I still havent done my baking (i think im trying to avoid it till the last moment haha)... right now im going to go wrap wrap wrap!
-
Okay... so here is my question for today. After getting stuck or having a pb'ing episode are you guys swollen for a couple days? I had a horrible uncooked brocolli vs. the Band experience, at work too!!!! Luckily it didnt last to long. It was my own fault for not chewing well enough. I had wonton soup last night and didnt even think anything about the earlier experience but today I have had so much trouble with anything! Just painfull feeling no actual pb'ing or anything. Sooo... im having some sugar free hot chocolate made with milk for some protein. This is a first for me, so I just wanted to make sure it was normal. LoL It's so good to see everyones pictures and to hear about all your NSV's! Congrats everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday cheer!
-
Phyll the pictures arent showing up for me? hmm... maybe its just my computer. Sooo... where is everyone today? Its sunday, that means we have 1 week to get ready for christmas. (not counting christmas eve) hope everyone is ready!!! I still have shopping to do, and cards to finish.... Time to get a start on it! bye!
