Anyone noticing changes in food taste? (I'm post op 4 1/2 weeks)
kj44 replied to Mike in LA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same here. Loved eggs pre-op. now I can't get em down. They hurt my stomach and make me feel sick. Still taste good tho . And also now love spicy foods. -
Help! Gaining weight ... how do I diet with the sleeve?
kj44 replied to DallasMomofTwins's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Carbs are so the delish devil lol. -
So agree! I am only 45 down with many more to go before I reach goal but notice how my clothes r getting loose. I am so excited to get to shop for something I like and not have the dreadful feeling when everything I've tried on doesn't fit or looks horrible.

My dr has me taking biotin. Got it at wallyworld. Also get ur protein in. 80-100gr per day I use the premier protein choc and pour over ice. Drink slow take a little over hr and sip it. R U taking ur daily vitamins and vitamin b-12 and calcium citrate also xtra vitamin d? All work together.

I had roast turkey bout 6wks out and it didn't stay down long. Anyone else ever have what I've heard referred to as slime episode ? Very a unpleasant and I hope to not ever deal with it again. It's like u just keep vomiting clear slime.

Premier is my go to also. I pour it over ice to thin it out a little. Only have tried the choc. Just slowly work on it with small sips and it will eventually be gone lol. Still takes me over an hr to drink one. I am 4 months out. Early on I ate yogurt or peanut butter on a spoon to get in some protein too.

I am 5 1.5 but used to be 5 2 before all the weight gains my dr also rounds up. I was 270 pre-surgery on April 4th 2013. Today am 225. I am almost 4months out. Been a slow move down the scale this past month for sure. I try to stay positive and keep in mind that I packed this all on over the past 30 plus years so even tho I don't see bigger numbers dropping.....it's dropping I have not had any second thoughts about the choice to be sleeved! It's tough enough being short. Much less short AND round lol so I am looking gladly at just. Short. Best to all u other shorties.

After week one I was on to puréed and strained food for two else. Then soft foods. Now almost four months out still have to choose carefully or my pouch will let me know! Good luck to u and be patient. It's a process of learning what works for u.

Anyone else hate the protein shakes?
kj44 replied to reenalee's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I also had a shift in my taste for protein drinks post surgery. couldnt keep em down the smell was killer. i found the premeir choc shakes and if i add ice to it so it kinda thins down i can actually drink it. my dr told me that if theres more than 20 grm of protein in it(they have 30) to make it last over an hr since the body can only absorb 20grms in an hr.... during the puree stage i looked for soups with more protein then pureed them like split pea bean with bacon or chicken enchilada.... also couldnt stand the isopure or the protein shots or jello...and for some reason anything with the artificial sweeteners tastes really bitter to me now...and i was a bonified diet coke addict pre surgey.
