Yes. He's awesome! Made me feel so at ease cuz he was so thorough his staff was ok. Some better than others do I know what u mean. Lol. I only wish I lived closer do I could attend all the wonderful meetings there. I haven't found anything near me so I've been winging it alone.

I am almost five months out and have been finding myself hungry too. I feel like I can eat more at one time than just weeks ago and worry I am eating too much. I track everything on my lose it app and stay between 600-900cal a day. Usually about 700 avg. 70-90gr protein. Scale is still moving(slowly.) but down. I am running out of ideas of what to eat and my family is wanting more in the way of fuller meals... I did better when I wasn't so focused on the food and what to make for all. All the time anyway. Sigh..... Guess I need to get a dose of determination again.

Ok so I got out of the shower yesterday and grabbed my favorite towel... It's orange and bigger than my other towels... Well for the first time I could actually wrap it around me and not have parts(mostly belly) peeping out of it! I was very thrilled and tho its not technically " clothes" I'm counting it!! Lol.

Surgery date was 4/4/13.

You can get thru this.... I didn't think I would make it thru all the liquid and restricted phases either. Definitely the toughest thing I've ever done.... But I made it thru! I'm almost five months post op and down 52 lbs! It's kinds like giving birth..... While in the process u think there's no fricken way.... But when it's over all u remember is how wonderful it is! Wishing u a speedy delivery. :-).

I started at 270 and I am only 5'2" Sleeved on 4/4/13. Currently at 220. It's a slow but steady loss and I do not regret for one min the decision to do the procedure Best thing I've ever done for myself. I have a long way till goal but am confident I will get there. I hope u keep us posted on ur journey and wish u all the best. -
Sumo squats? I will look those up too. Lol. And yes my legs r pretty weak. From carting around all this weight for so many years no doubt. I think I'm a heel striker to compensate for the knees. I will make a point if pretending to walk on my toes when on the treadmill. Thank you!

I was sleeved on April 4th 2013. Sw 270 weight today 220.4. I am 5'2" so I'm down almost 50# in 4 1/2 months. I have a hard time exercising due to my stupid knees. Which I hope will get better as I drop more weight. I know 50 lbs is really a lot of weight I just feel a little jipped that you can't really tell I see people I haven't seen for a while and it's not noticeable that I'm smaller. I can tell that my clothes r a bit looser but I'm still in mostly the same clothes. * sigh*. Anyway. I plan to keep doin what I'm doin and increasing the exercise little by little. It's good to know that not EVERYONE drops 100# the first four months. Was encouraged by all these posts. Wishing you all the best! Also. My cholesterol is actually HIGHER at my three month blood work up... Then higher still three weeks later.... I barely eat red meat only minimal dairy and usually low fat at that .. Don't use butters. Olive oil occasionally. Even had been eating oatmeal daily for a week prior to last blood work..... Anyone else experience this?? I was pretty bummed

Ok. I've been reading this thread on the c25k and i was wondering of anyone had trouble with there knees before starting? I am 4 1/2 months post sleeve starting wt 270. Current wt 220 down almost 50 lbs. I still have trouble with my knees. They really hurt and I worry I will fall. My daughter gave me an older treadmill so I can hold on while I walk. So far I can only get thru about 15 min. At under 2 mph. I know... Pitiful... I have not much strength in my legs and knees I noticed this when I try to step up onto anything. Usually need help. Don't really know what my question is.... I think I'm so afraid I won't be able to do it that it paralyzes me from trying. I have the same issue with the Zumba I just got.

Any success stories for the 50's group?
kj44 replied to MindfulWeightLoss's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I turned 50 this past December 25th. Was sleeved on April 4th. Surgery weight was 270. As of this. Week I am at 222. I still have a lot more to go but I am trying to be patient. I know my loss hasn't been as dramatic as others but its the most I've been able to ever lose. I get my 80-100gr of protein in. Most days. And am trying to work the exercise up. I am having hair loss also in spite of getting my protein in and taking the daily Vitamin ,the b12 ,the calcium, the vitamin d and the biotin. Sigh. Hoping it slows down soon. Getting sleeved is the very best decision I have ever made. Even with the bumps in theroad I would not choose a different one. -
Getting frustrated with the scale!
kj44 replied to bettyb71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gmanbat I appreciated ur post as I too have been finding myself impatient. My surgery was on 4/4/13 starting weight was 270 currently 222. So almost 50 lbs down still not seeing a huge transformation like I've seen on here tho and I find I guestion myself I needed to be reminded that my body has its own timeline. I do a minimal amt of strength training and walking on treadmill. Gradually increasing as I can. (Stupid knees) I need to remember that I've never been able to lose more than 20 lbs previously Soooo I am doing ok. -
Not in Dallas but had my surgery there anyone in the Granbury area??

4months out and sipping does get better. I too can't stand the taste of the water enhancers post op. the sugar subs taste bitter. I also only drink water(figi or evian preferably ) with as much ice as can fit in my thermo cup and just sip sip. Refill lol.

Yeah. Losing soda was a hard one for me too. I was a true diet cokeohaulic. I weaned myself off so that a month pre op i was soda free. Total 5 months now. Still miss it (sigh) but I've pushed thru too much to revert back to old vices. I'm steadily losing(not as quick as I'd like. But as quickly as I need to) and I feel better already so I am anxiously looking forward to how I will feel minus another hundred pounds.
