    Need a buddy/mentor...

I so meed a buddy/mentor right now. I had my surgery July 30, 2013 so 6 months now.. and I've lost 56 lbs, yay! I've been at the same weight for more then two weeks now. To be honest.. my diet has not been the best. I am afraid I've stretched my stomach because at night I can't seem to curve my appetite. I have IBS and drinking Protein drinks only causes flare ups which makes leaving the house very difficult. I've also been losing my hair, a lot which has me depressed. I am taking supplements & using hair loss shampoo/conditioner. HELP!!
  2. I had my surgery on 7/30/13. BEFORE surgery I did: 1. Mani/Pedi 2. Haircut 3. laundry 4. filled car with gas 5. paid some bills 6. some cleaning & straightening up the house 7. Rechecked my food shopping list and got anything I missed I had a really bad reaction to the pain meds & the anti-vomit meds which landed me an extra day in the hospital. I didn't bother setting up the TV due to me sleeping A LOT to rid my body of what was making me ill. What I brought to the hospital: 1. I wore home the outfit I wore to the hospital ( it was an over-sized shirt, very roomy capri & flip-flops so (I didn't have to bend over) 2. Toothbrush & travel size toothpaste 3. Phone & charger 4. ID & insurance card 5. Magazines - that I didnt even open! I agree everyone's stay is different. I wasn't allowed to get a shower due to the IV & drain in my side so all the extra soaps extra was pointless.
  3. I had the surgery on the 29th and went through some rough reactions to the pain/non-vomit meds they gave me in the hospital. I had a drain in my side and still sore from the incisions on my stomach. The whole purpose of the surgery is to get healthy, change your mind frame on eating and your habits. I don't understand why you would want to push the envelope after MAJOR surgery. It's not like they pulled a tooth! I read somewhere that your stomach starts to heal 6-8 weeks AFTER surgery AND within that time frame if any type of leaking or problems arise it will do so during that time. I don't understand why anyone would want to take that risk. Just my two cents...
  4. I am having my surgery in 2 days! This thread is sooo helpful!! Many thanks!!
