Top LB surgeons in sydney? who are they
Chickie replied to Aussiebum's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The reason my surgeon send his patients to a dietitian is to prepare them for what is expected of them post op, more than to educated them on what they need to be eating (although some people might need the education too, I don't know) You might also be required to see a psychologist before your surgery date as well. Just a heads up on that one. I hope someone is able to help you out with your question soon. -
Top LB surgeons in sydney? who are they
Chickie replied to Aussiebum's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Aussiebum (love the name!) Ask 5 different people (with different surgeons) and you are going to get 5 different answers to that question. Best bet is to get referrals to as many different surgeons as you can, make appointments to meet them all for a chat, and then decide who is best for you. Being that I am in Brisbane, I am of no help at all as to who you might see, or who is good at all. Catch you around. -
Snort. (and apparently "snort" was too short to post on it's own)

It's the self doubt that will eat you alive (no pun intended) Have faith in yourself. You can do this.

Sounds like a date!

When I grow up I want to marry Andy :sneaky: Now THAT is hawt!!

I know. Sadly I will never be that sexy.

I'd love to be that good. At this stage I knit an awesome (Tom Baker era) Dr Who length scarf. They are good, but nothing exciting. And a huge congrats on the new Grand Baby! How exciting for everyone (I love babies. They smell so good, glad I only had one though. They grow up and become petulant pre-teens way too quickly!) Good stuff. I will send the kid out to buy some (so I don't have to leave the couch, given walking to and from the car, and into the shop could be considered exercise!) Yeah, but no, but yeah, but no, but SHUT UP!

You can only do what you are doing. Pick yourself up after the fact, dust yourself off, and try better next time.

Ahh. Dody. I remember her (not well, but I do remember) Why do people do that? Attention? Boredom? Anger? Al of the above? -
Congrats Dosh!

Woah! Glad everything turned out ok in the end. And congrats on the 15kg!

What is your sweet spot??
Chickie replied to bretalj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
0cc in a 4cc band is my current sweet spot. Why? I am not losing, not gaining, and am able to eat a wide variety of good healthy food. -

It could have something to do with the fact that you are like, 70 different people. You have more fans than I do! I am in awe! -
I knit and read more than I exercise. Does this mean that knitting and reading are my true addictions? Where do I go for help for knitting and reading addictions?

Who's hungry? Although I could go for a couple of carrot sticks dipped in some hummus right now :sneaky: -
The trying to cut me down I can live with. I understand it's their own insecurities that drive that line of attack. And I actually feel sorry for women who at 13, and 20 something years older than me who should know better than to name call. I feel sorry that they are not at peace with who they are. It's when they say things like "I am sure she would think I am fat" Based on what exactly? The fact that I am the size I am? Where the hell did that comment even come from? Why would I think anything of the sort. That I don't understand. And I did have to laugh at the addiction transfer comment. I love the arm chair psychiatry. I wonder what they would think of athletes who train for hours and hours a day if my 30 to 60 minutes a day is excessive. Humans come in all shapes, sizes and colors. And it makes the world a beautiful place to live in.

Bugger that, I have enough haters here! But feel free to use my word if you so desire. From what I have read so far, that thread is interesting reading. -

I am amazed that people think like that. How could a healthy diet not be desirable? Maybe my thinking is warped. After all, being a healthy weight is not unattractive to me, I exercise daily and I like eating a balanced diet. -

I snorted when I read that. Honest. Holy crap! I think I need to hang out at OH more often. -

For calling me unattractive and "too thin" (ugly and skinny, only "nicer") Quotes; Apparently she can read minds (although not very well apparently' date=' because she is wrong - I don't actually care what she will look like at goal weight) In reference to me saying that it's not really nice to call people unattractive based on their weight alone; (although I will say I am glad I am not to her taste' date=' after all, old women are not to my taste either) And apparently because I exercise for the recommended 30 to 60 minutes a day I have an "addiction transfer"; So all in all, you two come off like you are sucking on some major sour grapes. Either that, or you are just true assholes. Welcome to the hall of shame ladies, I hope you enjoy your stay. -

I know you didn't ask for my 2 cents (and with the current currency conversion it's less than that anyway) Maintaining is a hell of a lot like losing. It's not a great deal different for me. I eat more, because of my unfill, but that's about it. I still eat the same foods, and I still exercise the same amount as always. I know that's probably not all that helpful. But I guess, if we are careful not to make our whole lives about losing weight, getting to goal is not a "mountain top" type experience. It great, don't get me wrong, but it's not everything, if you get what I am aiming at (and knowing my luck, no one will get it :sneaky:)

I think (This is only what I think... My Dr Phill degree is yet to arrive in the mail) That people simply attack what they don't understand. It's easier to assume than to research. And when one finds things that they don't like? Ignore them. Phhft. Facts? How accurate are they anyway? :sneaky: I have to say, I broke out in a childish giggle when I read that quote. Who the hell sniffs the air in a TOILET and asks "What smells SO good?" -
