Soooo... Whad I miss?!
Madam Reverie replied to Madam Reverie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks, Sassy, sincerely. I hope you have a lovely time on holiday. I was very glad I went All-in. Gave me the option to pick and choose whatever I wanted and not worry about it. That included all the booze! Muahaha -

Fanks, Mc Utterly Butterly! Sorry 'bout your burnt bonce. It really does suck, doesn't it? Combing my hair was eye-watering. Literally. Gave the man something to obsess over though - other than my butt! x -

Aww Kindle, I missed you, too! Sorry about your ring, love. It sucks, doesn't it... And HUZZAH! 50 cals put on the back-burner for now, huh?! I'm sure it won't be long before we'll be needing them -

Ex-Friend Keeps Writing Negatively About Me on Different Blogs and Web Sites
Madam Reverie replied to Sharon C.'s topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Stop reading the crap that this 'woman' spouts. I don't even know her and she can put me in a coma. Stop your 'friends' from referring you to her latest diatribes, too. It is doing no one any favours. Tune it out. Move on. -

Thinking of changing therapists
Madam Reverie replied to Georgia Pritchett's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Personally speaking? I wouldn't go to a gynecologist and ask them to give me a structural survey on my house. Likewise, I wouldn't go to a therapist who didn't specialise, or at least have some significant experience in my area of concern. If your therapist has already hinted that she might not be best placed - perhaps ask her to recommend someone. Maybe the two therapists can work together? -
Has anyone NOT lost any hair? Please reassure me.
Madam Reverie replied to shelly75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Eat red meat as soon as you can. Real Protein. Whatever they tell you to take as an Iron supplement? Quadruple it. I lost a fair amount of hair. The moment I took that advice, it abated - tremendously. Biotin? Just made my belly and thighs hairy -
We are approaching our 3.5 millionth post!
Madam Reverie replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
A book?! A BOOK?! I'm sure it's a fabulous book, Alex, but please... May we have a 5 star, all-inclusive, all expenses paid trip to Cancun please?! You could throw in a free surgical procedure as well, if you'd like? I'm easy. <Oh the hilarity, if this post was the 'one'! Muahahaha> -
Off to the hospital again... :(
Madam Reverie replied to RJ'S/beginning's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You, my love, have the patience of a saint. If i were you, by this stage, I'd be walking into that hospital shouting 'sort this m******** f******** s*** out. Sort it out properly, or I'm about to get medieval on someones arse.... I am so sorry this is happening to you again, RJ. All I can say is that I hope they get it done right this time and there will be no more - for you and your family. Big hugs x -
Totally. I was very confused about this, too. I went from a 42DD/E to a 36/38 F..... Who knew this would happen. It was our friend on here Indigo, who told me that the more we lose our cup size goes up. I can't get my head around an F.. Let alone a G if my back size drops any more!

Not big enough for WLS?
Madam Reverie replied to I will what I want's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm 5ft 10, started at 250. BMI 35 point something, I think? Can't remember. It's on my ticker. That wasn't my highest weight. I think I was 265+ at one point. I, too, carried my weight 'well'. Their reaction is probably a knee-jerk, because they might potentially see surgery as too 'drastic'. Consequently, people often go for the 'Nooo, you're fine.. ' kinda thing to sway you into a more 'acceptable' solution. Although its an 'acceptable' solution for their comfort zones, its not necessarily for us. I did it. I'm now wearing UK size 12's - US size 10's. Although the first couple of months are a bind, the stalling is annoying, I wouldn't change it. The freedom it gives you is quite humbling. I don't recognise myself in the mirror. But what I do see from time to time in the mirror and on my clothing labels, makes me gaze in wonderment. I can run now, too. How cool is that?! Wishing you the best of luck -
Help! For all you lovely people who are familiar with Florida!
Madam Reverie posted a topic in The Lounge
Dear All, I'm looking for some advice regarding Panama City, Pensacola, Eastpoint, Apalachicola, Fort Walton, Destin and around those parts?! Do you live there? Could you tell me the 'good' and 'bad' areas? Or any general viewpoints on these areas at all? The best things to see and do? Any help would be very much appreciated. To forewarn you all - I may be paying you a visit soon! ARRRGGHHH, RUN FOR THE HILLS, THE BRIT IS COMING!!!! -

Madam Reverie replied to Madam Reverie's topic in The Lounge
I think beaches and relaxation sounds just fine right now!! Having spent 10 years commuting into the centre of London every day, I can go a few years without having to see it again! I think the west coast is where we'll be heading. The man has already vetoed the east coast for many reasons... Largely - they're not on the gulf! Well, his side of the gulf! Do you have any specific opinions on Panama City? Seems like we can get a rental out that way.. and I was wondering how it would compare to the other locations... -x- -

Madam Reverie replied to Madam Reverie's topic in The Lounge
That's great Rena, thank you. I have been looking at Gulf Shores. Looks amazing. If not a bit retina-burning with all the white sand, blue sea and no trees! I know it sounds odd, but if I were staying for any length of time, I'd need some trees around me! Call me British and weird! -

Madam Reverie replied to Madam Reverie's topic in The Lounge
Madame Rev,OMG I so wish I lived there so I could meet you and entertain you but I am in Jacksonville (don't come here LOL, ugly brown beaches IMO) - my daughter lives in Pensacola so I am there often! She is 10 minutes from Orange Beach, AL, and is 1 hour from Destin/Ft. Walton Beach. These 3 places are the most beautiful in Florida IMHO. Miami/Ft. Laud is congested and ....don't go there. The only thing to do in the areas you mention is relax and soak up sun. Sit at places like Sunset Grille in Orange Beach on the Intracoastal and yep, watch the sunset. Eat delicious seafood. Destin is high dollar big hotels/condos beautiful, white sands, so many tourists. Orange Beach/Pensacola not so high dollar, lots of condos and hotels, more laid back and casual. Blue Angels are based in Pensacola, and spectacular to see.Hire a local fisherman to take you charter fishing. Take plenty of sunscreen Brit because those white sand beaches reflect that sun. I just spent 2 weeks in Pensacola, kayaking with my daughter on Tarkin Bay, eating wonderful Wahoo (the best saltwater fish ever!), and loving life. I would love to hear where you choose!! Aww, Linda, thanks so much! As my man is a Floridian, originally from Pensacola, he has a lot to say about it! He's also a fisherman/redneck (think 'Duck Dynasty') So as far as getting a charter sorted out - his response was 'you don't need a guide, ya got me!' He also agreed with EVERYTHING you wrote about the other areas! Particularly Miami........ I thought as I have the opportunity to do a bit of traveling, I would take that opportunity to see a bit of his homeland. He's very familiar with Pensacola, but not so much in the other areas. As I'm potentially looking to stay for a few months, I wondered if people were familiar with those other areas mentioned, insomuch as how it is to live there, so we could better gauge where to plonk ourselves for a little while. Don't fancy trying to get an apartment online, succeeding and then turning up to find we're in the middle of some sort of warzone! You never know, given the way the weather is in the UK, I might relocate altogether! We could be neighbours! We could eat seafood together. How cool would that be?!! -
HELP PLEASE
Madam Reverie replied to irisheyesrsmylng 1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't understand what the problem is, honey? Can you give us a bit more information? If you don't want to eat at the private house, do as Linda says? Bring your own food - Protein shakes and maybe some deli meat? Tell us a bit more and maybe we can help you better? x -

Thank you, Rena, that's very useful. May I ask whereabouts you lived and whether there were any good residential areas and any bad residential areas? How did you feel about living in Pensacola? -
MALE HUMOR OF THE DAY
Madam Reverie replied to 2muchfun's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hehe, that made me chuckle. -
Sounds like a classic stall. Try varying your calorie intake - perhaps upping it a bit for a couple of days and then dropping it down again. You don't want to go into starvation mode, as that will be a whole world of pain. Don't panic, it will come off. And, by the sounds of it, you could be building muscle which as you know, weighs more than fat.. Just give it a bit of time and all will be well

Recently Lost a Best Friend Because of My Decision to Get Bariatric Surgery
Madam Reverie replied to Sharon C.'s topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Ya know something. I'm gonna say it as I see it. I read that diatribe and actually burst out laughing. And I've had a migraine today, so laughing hurts! I don't want in any way to belittle or demean the devastation you must be feeling. Losing friends who you have been close to is never easy.. But really... That chick is so self absorbed, she'd give Pampers a run for their money! 'That's enough about me... more about meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee' Walk your path. Alone if you have to (well, you won't be alone, because you have all us nutters on here to keep you annoyed/happy/laughing/pepped-up/ delete as appropriate) It's going to be tough, but you WILL rise like a Phoenix. She, will be left in the corner on her own, fighting her demons, still trying to convince herself that her way is the right way... Much love, darlin' x -
