Stomach virus...HELP!
Madam Reverie replied to ReDbEaN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Get the gatorade in as much as you can.. Dehydration is dry mouth (first sign), headache, dizzy, weak, faint, rapid pulse, rapid breathing its no joke. Getting fluids in is your only mission.... little and often. Wishing you a speedy recovery x -
Band 2 seeve today. FAILURE
Madam Reverie replied to livelyterry's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
What an awful thing to happen. Least it's out now and you can do a bit of leisurely healing. On the plus side, you'll be able to have a little nibble of all the stuff you haven't been able to eat whilst banded! Which, from what I hear, is pretty much everything! Wishing you a speedy recovery x -
Aww, sausages making people sick?! This is no good people, no good.. I love them so!!!!
-
Did you have it in the hot dog roll, or just the hot dog on its own?

I need advice please from the vets
Madam Reverie replied to Tiki's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
To be honest and I'm not meaning to sound like a prude here, but I've never really been a fan of any of those things... I haven't got a sweet tooth and the MSG on chips makes me shakey (both my sister and I are a bit sensitive to flavour enhancers. Gives us freaky dreams!). I don't suppose burgers and fried are slider foods, are they? 'cause you have to chew them? I know they're not great choices, but I guess you would be hard-pressed to ram them down in such quantity that they would equate to eating a bag of chips with salsa/dips? I guess I'm trying to work out what it is that'll be my nemesis.. I suspect the empty calories I'll consume will more than likely and way further on down the line, come from the dreaded booze! -
chicken sausages.. It'll be like returning to the middle east! Hey, a sausage is a sausage and I'd be grateful for any variety as I love them so much! i wasn't really thinking the hotdog variety as I've never really gone for them. Definitely the bratwurst variety though.. They are delicious! Do you find anything with a high fat content now throws your tummy off?

I need advice please from the vets
Madam Reverie replied to Tiki's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a question relating to that. I hear about 'slider' foods, but what do they really constitute? Ice cream, chips, chocolate and such? -
Hey, all responses are VERY welcome and much appreciated, thank you. The more ideas I have about successful presentation of the eggs, the more likely I'll find one that sits okay. Poached.. mmm... on toast with loads of butter... D'oh! No bread! Waaaaaaaah! :'( Ooh, actually, whilst here, I'll cheekily ask another question. Have any of you lot attempted sausages? If so, how did that work out for you all? x

Just putting it out there, so 'dirty' little secrets may see the light of day!
Madam Reverie replied to Madam Reverie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I call Haribo candy 'Haribo crack'... One hit (particularly of the sour cola bottles) and I'm craving another hit in under 10 minutes. Although, since surgery, Haribo 'crack' is most definitely off the menu! -
That's very good to know. Thank you for all your answers, folks. I think I'll give them a go, but before I do, I'll make sure I take an antacid/PPI. I'm craving them, so my body must be needing whatever they have to offer! x

lump sensation in my throat
Madam Reverie replied to ElyQuint's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey folks, I have the same problem. My man advised me to take two painkillers, which I did and it eased it as it no doubt reduced the swelling of the valve. This is a tough one, people. I know I'm only 12 days out, but I couldn't imagine living with this on a constant basis when trying to start on normal food. Its a horrid sensation -
I'm 12 days out and I find it particularly difficult... Something I definitely have to work on!

I was on 1700mg of Metformin a day. After being told I wouldn't be taking it after the surgery, I stopped it a month before the surgery. Can't say I miss taking those tablets one iota, but I know the PCOS will impede my weight loss until things even out. I have thin hair on my head already, so the hairloss thing is scaring me silly... As for the fertility.. I can wait another couple of years before I consider making bouncing bubbas.. But I hope it improves my probability of conceiving. You're all wonderful ladies and the PCOS makes us special - given how much crap we've had to put up with - over and above the weight we've been carrying. I wish you all the luck in the world x

My big fat bucket list
Madam Reverie replied to KristieAtkinson's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My bucket list is more emotional than a 'to do' list. I want to buy obscenely expensive clothing. I want to be thinner than my sister for the first time in my life. (and revel in the shock on her face when she finally sees me) I want to bump into my ex fiance and his midget, size minus 4 wife and feel ab-so-lute-ly bloody fabulous! I would like, for once, for someone not to say 'you're a big girl'. I would love to try on a wedding dress and feel like the most beautiful girl in the world - not a frump who fights back tears, feeling like a failure. I would like to feel positive about my forthcoming nuptials and being in front of people and their cameras. I want to be physically 'normal' and happy. That is all.... -
Tummy tuck today!
Madam Reverie replied to Butterthebean's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
lol awesome. Least you haven't lost your sense of humour through all this! Wishing you a speedy recovery, my dear. Looking forward to seeing the washboard! x -
in hospital now, 12 hours out
Madam Reverie replied to kvdme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like you're handling this like a trooper! Well done you! Keep at it, take plenty of rest and water and you'll be careering down the halls in no time. Oh, enjoy the booties btw. I loved them. Saw them as a constant leg massager! Sadly, by day two they'd whipped them off because I was already walking around and bossing everyone about Boo! -
That's great then! Your parents sound cool. Be spoilt by the men for a bit. Even if they're not your total 'cup of tea'. After all, you could consider it an opportunity to go and buy some lovely outfits, get your hair and make up done, be taken for a nice meal and feel like a princess with no strings attached! Crikey, almost makes me wish i were single again! Can you ask your parents if they'd wish to adopt me?! x

Smoking, Pre-Opp
Madam Reverie replied to Big Ocean's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I smoked right up until and after surgery. it should never be condoned, as we well know.. But it is hard. I think the deal breaker is how big you are at this very moment. Certain weight categories and co-morbidities have greater risks and if you smoke too, your anesthetist will not be happy and that will make their job much harder and your risk much greater. You have to be honest with yourself... Sorry, love x -
Tired of women leaving me for the "cute skinny guy"
Madam Reverie replied to Justinh125's topic in Rants & Raves
Maybe they saw their own aspirations of being thinner in the skinny guys' eyes? On some subconscious level, thinking that if they go with the skinny guy, they, too, by virtue of association will become thinner. Or maybe, worse still, they hated their weight and themselves that much, they saw 'skinny' as a 'higher prize'. Either way, none of this is about you, my love. It is ALL about them. Keep rocking on and your princess will come - fat or thin x -
I have many many Indian friends. Most, are strong, highly intelligent, career minded single women in their late 30's, 40's and early 50's. Although it is customary for some families to 'desire' a wedding. Some, when presented with the cold hard truth, often back off. Primarily because they'd rather their daughter be happy, than force them into something that is just not right for them. If you're not ready - tell your parents. Barter for another couple of years and tell them why you need that. 29 these days is not 'late in the game'. In fact, it's positively early. All my crew started getting married in their early-mid thirties. Primarily because they had careers and traveled the world first. I'm sure your parents would prefer you to feel 'rounded' and 'ready' than pressurized and resentful. After all, if you feel the latter, it will show all over your face and make most men run for the hills. If you're not adverse to meeting men they think might be 'suitable', then go for it. Social occasions are no hardship and you never know, you might enjoy it - or worse still... You might meet someone who makes you think 'Corrrr.. He's lovely!!' Hoping you find a middle ground and the best of luck x

Vanity vs empowerment
Madam Reverie replied to skinnygirl2b's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I don't mean to be rude, but your post sounded like a bit of an advert for plastic surgery. You're not soliciting for customers, are you?! -
Freezing!
Madam Reverie replied to krystalherrington's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its the lack of carbs. Like Silkchik, I can feel it when I've not had carbs. Consequently, I'm trying to incorporate a little bit of carbs every day. My man was kind enough to buy me an electric blanket, which I sit on whilst watching tv. I am in the North of the UK, however and it is balls-arse cold here right now! In bed, I don't need it, as he's a not so little radiator! -
LOW BMI Pre-OP? I have questions...
Madam Reverie replied to Teachamy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is true.. I used to love Ambrosia Devon Custard. Tried it the other day and it made me feel dirty inside. Conversely, I rarely eat fish and for the last week, I have been craving Prawns. Today, with full doctor approval, I ate prawns and they went down slowly and beautifully. I'm putting my money on the things I'm craving, being the things I need...
