lol Well, if it was American X Factor, I'd probably be crying, having to suffer through Demi Lovato contributing absolutely NOTHING of value to well, anything. As it stands, it was UK X Factor and I was crying because this one guy sang so utterly beautifully (which is the bit that made me cry).. and then the short Irish midget Louie Walsh, decided to send him home - probably because he wasn't thin and like Justin Bieber (which then made me angry - because I absolutely loathe Justin, I need to be kicked repeatedly in the head, Bieber). Clearly I am more comfortable with the latter emotion than the former!

GERD - Indigestion, Reflux, Lumps in Throat/Chest. Exposition of Symptoms and Treatment.
Madam Reverie replied to Madam Reverie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been reading some serious literature on this subject today. Not alot of it very positive. Apparently, after 1 year, some symptoms abate. Apparently, after 3 years, they can be eliminated. However, one article quoted 43% - yes, that's 43% - of people would all suffer GERD symptoms post VSG forever. The reason this happens? The way the incision and stapling is done. The angle of the food pouch, basically weakens the LES. Treatment options? PPI (which sometimes don't work and can mask erosion and can lead to malignancy). Botox injected into the valve itself (and only lasts three months). Electrical shock treatment (I kid you not) and an operation, which has very limited success. I have to say, if I'd known I'd have to deal with this, it could well have been a deal breaker... Anyone got any home-remedies or eating habit modifications they've made which have improved their symptoms? -
Does obama care cover surgery?
Madam Reverie replied to donaboss's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
If it's anything like the UK's National Health Service - they will cover it, but you have to have some pretty major figures and co-morbidities for them to refer you. Then, of course, it's the HUGE waiting list game... -
Oh, I'm a pathetic, sodden-faced, snot-filled, gastric reflux infested mess at least once a day... I feel it well up. I am ashamed to say it, but the X Factor made me cry yesterday. If you knew what I did for a living, you would find that hysterically funny... In hindsight, I know I do...

GERD - Indigestion, Reflux, Lumps in Throat/Chest. Exposition of Symptoms and Treatment.
Madam Reverie replied to Madam Reverie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dear All, Having been sleeved a whole 17 days, I have noticed a very nasty side effect to this surgery - Reflux. I have been given the PPI, avoid fatty/surgery foods, limit caffeine and chew like the proverbial cow chewing the cud. None of this seems to help things. If I'm gonna get taken out with it, I'm being taken out. On academic research, I have learnt that VSG increases the likelihood of GERD due to, in short and without doing the 'science bit', the Lower Esophageal Sphincter being weakened. Subsequently, all your gastric juices - PPI or not - jump above that valve and languish in your esophagus causing general discomfort, pain and misery. Consequently, what I'd like to ask all you good people, is a) have you had this (before or after surgery) b ) how did your surgeons/doctors deal with it c) have your symptoms improved with the surgery, weight loss, or just got worse over time? Any opinions, particularly from the long-term sufferers, are very much appreciated. x -
'Discussing the topic', would surely have been the exploration as to why the OP had got into 'trouble' for going out against her partners wishes. Not, as engineered, an intricate analysis of the normative values associated with self-pleasure and a licentious declaration as to your own activities and preferences...

Really? Mate, there are many things I could say to your last post. What I will say is T-M-I. If you're getting your crackers off by talking about it so much - you're clearly not getting it. Maybe you should hunt down a more subject appropriate website?

An English Sleever's Journey
Madam Reverie replied to marywithoutsound's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Ask them for morphine. It'll ease the sickness and allow you to relax a bit... Glad it went well though and you're up, awake and fighting the temporary misery. Give it three days and this will be a vague blur. Well done, honey xx -

Just putting it out there, so 'dirty' little secrets may see the light of day!

I had a slice of toast last night, admittedly, with a cup of tea. It took me two goes, but it went down and I felt fine. Small bites i think are key.. -

Hmm.. How about imbedding the photos onto a powerpoint slide. Save the slide as a jpeg and then post? -
When did you start to work out after surgery.
Madam Reverie replied to Roxiaa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you're feeling that full of energy - that's awesome. But, be careful. I feel like that some days, go crazy on the walking front and then feel like I've done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson the next day... I realise I have to take it slowly slowly... I was also advised at 4 weeks, i can start upping the cardio - as long as my diet is good.
