Diarrhea vs Dumping Syndrome
Madam Reverie replied to jjames7118's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you're drinking Protein drinks with little carbs and a bucket load of artificial sweetener? I'd put my money on it being that. I had the same deal. When you get onto the normal food stage - your movements will slow dramatically. And you will likely be praying for the day when you can return to the instant bowel movements of yore.. Protein seriously bungs you up... You'll be swapping one issue (the runs and gas) for another (constipation). I know which one I'd prefer! -
Took a couple of weeks for mine to be fully eradicated.. and yes, I had shoulder pain, too. You can take all the 'gas-x' /colic drops you like; walk around - I am of the humble opinion, it dissipates when it wants to... Sorry you're suffering. Hang on in there, try to keep mobile and it will go eventually...

Madam Reverie replied to Indigo1991's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Oh, c'mon, you know I was kidding! What's more disturbing is that I could have been far worse.... Trust me, if I have half as much success as everyone here, I'll be doing this on film..... Just with a little less clothing................... and perhaps some red vinyl thigh-high boots... -
kicked off of a fair ride....
Madam Reverie replied to kali480's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Done the ride thing, done the Water slide thing. It is absolutely mortifying... Yay us and our soon-to-be 'skinny' backsides -

Will do, chickadee! The meeting would have to be on the 23rd - if its going to happen at all. Don't know how people will respond to it, being that its so close to Christmas. I'll give L a buzz and ask. Now, time to amplify the warm and fuzzy with a glass of wine x -

This has made my heart all warm and fuzzy. I don't do warm and fuzzy. Indigo - I'm elated for you. Truly... Now, lady, are you going to be at the Murrayfield meeting at the end of this month? I think we should have wine! xx -
Oh honey. I'm so sorry to read this. Hope you're in fine fettle as soon as possible x

It depends. What research have you done so far? -
Feeling like a faliure...
Madam Reverie replied to LifeLiver's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh, honey. You've just gone through another major operation! That's big stuff! You don't want to be beating yourself up so soon! Your body is probably saying 'what in the world?!' 'I'm hanging onto my calories, thank you very much!' Sounds like the common three week stall. Just keep doing what you know to be right and all will be well. One thing I will say - is food 'passing through' okay? As long as it is and you 'feel okay'.. Hang on in there. If, by another 4 weeks, things haven't 'levelled out', go back to your quack and have a chat. Hang in there, honey. It's too soon to be down and you'll be rocking your sleeve in no time. It's probably just your body's way of saying 'I'm grumpy, I've been fannied about with again.. Leave me alone!' -
Hmm.. do you have any thyroid issues?

Question ... From an idle mind :)
Madam Reverie replied to Simpley_ke's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's so crazy !! I sure hope I like everything that I have in my frig once I get home It's a whole lot of trial and error on that front. My finace is now the official human dustbin. For the first 8 weeks, I'd be like 'Erm, nope, this isn't working for me'... and i'd immediately hand it over for him to finish off! He put on weight as a consequence. Muahahahaha! If you don't like things - don't worry about it. You'll find something else and move on. My advice? Go reasonably bland for a while. You'll tolerate it far better and won't waste so much food. -

Question ... From an idle mind :)
Madam Reverie replied to Simpley_ke's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh yes.. Some of my most favourite things began to taste awful... and if they didn't taste 'awful', they certainly tasted weird. I found there was also a correlation between fat content versus taste, versus sleeve compatibility.. Fatty goodness... not so good any more... -
6 months out...my thoughts & a pic

Amost 6 months out and only lost 70 lbs
Madam Reverie replied to countrythunder's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's just under a stone a month... That's exactly what you should be losing - according to my nutritionist. That's 5 stone in total... I'd be having a freekin' party if I got to that - and we have very similar stats. -
Today is finally my day!I Have to go in at 9:30am

Problem with Nosy Co-Worker! Need Advice!
Madam Reverie replied to livvsmum's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Next time she approaches you to ask another weight-related question and every time after that? I would let out an over-exaggerated.... <YAWN>...... Not productive or particularly mature; but then, I'm childish like that -
I have been sleeved for 12 weeks, I have had two periods lasting over 17 days each... so, 34-38 days out of 74. It blows. I, too, have PCOS. I should have shares in Tampax by now.. Loyalty scheme... Like a coffee reward card... 'Have two horrendously long periods - Get 4 boxes of protection FREE!' Urrrghhh.... Anyone else have that annoying Bodyform advert music going through their head right now?!!!
