Madam Reverie replied to RJ'S/beginning's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
And there ain't nothin' wrong with a bit of Debbie Harry. She is smokin'. I'm trying to channel my inner 'Cyndie Lauper' at the moment... Or is it more accurately, Cruella De'ville -
I Lost ******* in 2013
Madam Reverie replied to RJ'S/beginning's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Revs, think you'd suit them .... got them online and they are gorgeous. Was trying to recreate a Debbie Harry look from many years ago, lol x Oooh, do they do size 9's/43's? Sadly, one of the many features I inherited from the Irish side - massive boats masquerading as feet -
Cow thieves! There are cow thieves in our midst! I don't know what I am. Yes I do. Mad. 1/2 Irish, 1/4 Scott and 1/4 English. Yes, I think that's officially screwed!

You have such a pretty face........
Madam Reverie replied to MandaPanda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in this gang, too. Now I've lost 40-odd pounds, they can kiss my ever-decreasing-yes-I-know-I'm-big-but-beautiful/striking/pretty-faced(delete as appropriate)-backside. Grrr..... -
I have no stance on consumption. I'd just be interested to see how 'happy' the government will be when they add to the set of problems they currently have, caused by alcohol, with a whole new set of additional social, political, legal and wholly more problematic psycho-social medical issues as can be caused by pot smoking? Particularly in adolescents who seem to reap the worst 'benefits' of smoking cannabis during their 'developmental' years. Lest we get into the argument of 'one drug leads to an other' or how through legalisation and if consumed whole-sale, how it might damage the pharmaceutical industry by impacting upon their profits. Although, who is to say that those companies wouldn't end up producing the stuff themselves and it being part of the governments long-term plan? In my inexperienced opinion and if the 2nd, 3rd and 4th order effects were calculated? I can't see it being worth the money accrued through taxation of the market, because of the much greater expenditure which would be required elsewhere (fiscal, medical, enforcement activity, market protection, etc.) Although in saying that and conspiracy theories abound... Who's to say that some of those effects might not actually be part of the desired outcome which is why the legalisation - or at least decriminalisation - is spreading? Now, there's a thought!

Unexpected... I feel fatter now?
Madam Reverie replied to Seela's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I hear ya... When you're fat, you're filled out. Plump. Shiny. Healthy glow. Now, for me, its a bit like looking at a deflated balloon and I haven't even shed that much in comparison to some. I often ask myself; is filled out skin sexier than deflated skin? Irrespective of your size? Who knows... Maybe it's just all in our heads? Thank goodness for Spanx! -

4 week stall...UGH
Madam Reverie replied to onedaycloser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Up your Water, keep eating and ride it on out.... Nowt much that can be done, sadly. It'll drop in a week or so.. then you'll be groovy.. then you'll stall again. It kinda sucks like that -
The difference between them is miniscule. So, 38 may well be the perfect size! I'd say it sounds all good

Telling my family?
Madam Reverie replied to ImReadyforThis's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Only one person in my life knows; my fiance. That's it. Not family, not friends, not co-workers - no one. Oh, unless you count the others in my bariatric group?! (Although I don't think that's the same, as we're all in the same gang!) Frankly, I didn't need, nor want, the crap. My body, my stomach, my life. Huzzah! -
In the UK, the surgeon, through experience, chooses the boogie size they think is the most effective, based on the risks of going too small or too big. I don't think they selected it based on the patient in front of them. When I went in for my pre-op meeting, I was told 'Its a 34 boogie I will use and that's the only one we really tend to use here'. Pretty much end of discussion. I knew 34 was fairly small, so I accepted it and moved on. Are you hoping for a choice?

Happy New Year, Ree Protein bars can land a bit 'brick like'. Consequently, Id've thought you'dve needed to be a week to a couple of weeks into your solids to be able to try one out and see how you go.... Lots of chewing and small bites and you'll be pretty good...

What are your daily numbers?
Madam Reverie replied to xmarycontraryx's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Hey Mary! Happy New Year! I'm on 42g of Protein minimum. Was told not to be bothered about a 'maximum'. (Although, if I eat too much more, I get bunged up) 800-1200 calories a day. 1500 ml of Water minimum Trying to avoid bad fats, excessive carbs and sugar. Simples -
One week. Like two geriatrics trying to start a fire. Pathetic, but funny.

As of today, I am officially 'Overweight'. That's not 'Obese', or 'Morbidly Obese'... But 'Overweight'. Take THAT! Christmas and your calorie rich food which I have thus managed to avoid so far... (Large-scale Guinness consumption being thoroughly overlooked) (Before it all went horribly wrong and I fell over in my four inch heels due to an 'unforeseen' crack in the pavement - Classy 'till the last )

Gah, you beat me to it, Indigo! x Lots of love, peace and prosperity for all this 2014. Revs -x-
