I was going to post something about being very confused over that last post myself. LL - shall we agree to deconflict our opinions before posting?!

Sadly it won't let you circumvent the 'sign-up' page so you can have a look without 'committing' your details to it... -

Hair Loss Problems...Check this link out!

That's a link to a generic shopping website. Best be careful there else it can look like solicitation or advertising? Is there something specific on that website you wanted to highlight with regards to hair loss? -
i think my sleeve is making me hate my spouse
Madam Reverie replied to abarta83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Change is not a bad thing. If you want to go out - go out! But back to my original statement; if you want him to actively partake in it and share experiences - you're probably going to have to find something that he's going to be interested in doing. If i wanted to drag my man out shopping? He'd rather gouge his eyes out with a rusty spoon and resentfully loaf around until the 'misery' was over. Suggest we go walking through the woods and attend some hunting, shooting, fishing display? He'd be bouncing at the door ready to go! -

Those are telling statements above. I hear you. You think he made empty promises just to get a thinner you? That his 'commitment' was just an ulterior motive? Ultimately, this is all about your self-esteem - doubting his motives - mixed with a bit of resentment at the fact he doesn't have to exercise much and you're having to really work at the whole eating and exercising thing post surgery. It is tiring and it takes effort. Ultimately, you have to ask yourself this one question; Did you do the surgery for him, or for yourself? Its your body, its your health, its your life. It's your commitment. If you think he only wanted a 'thinner' woman, then you have to question how long he had been with you prior to the surgery? How was your relationship then? There's also the unfortunate thing with us women that we often put our partners into a situation with our questions and actions which leave them basically 'damned if they do and damned if they don't'. If you're questioning his motives - you need to ask him and soothe your troubled mind. I'm sure he'll be very surprised by you voicing it. If you're questioning his commitment to your surgery? Well, after all, it's your surgery and you're the one that has to show the most commitment to it. Apart from the exercise, he appears to have held-up on his side of the deal (albeit the easier aspects) I'd say a large part of this is a reflection on how you feel about yourself. You're married to someone who has shared your life - big or small. Best ask him if your insecurities are founded. I would hazard a guess they're probably not and you're just a bit weighed down by all that is asked of you in the melee of post surgery craziness. Hang in there, honey -
Anyone feel dizzy post op
Madam Reverie replied to starr1202's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would. Do a bit of food experimentation and see if things alter. Sometimes if you're overdoing the B12, it can cause shakes and things. I remember reading somewhere in an academic journal that raised blood pressure and fluttering heart beats can happen post-sleeve. Consequently, when I started getting the dizzy spells, I started altering my Vitamins and swapping out the foods a bit. It helped. Best of luck -
Anyone feel dizzy post op
Madam Reverie replied to starr1202's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
More Water and more food, I would suggest. Although I'm probably going to get flayed for this - but I get less dizzy spells if I have more Protein, more water and dare I say it - carbohydrates... As with all these things that can be down to the individual; if you're sincerely worried about it, go and have a chat with your doctor. Sorry you feel awful and hope it gets better soon. -
weight gain
Madam Reverie replied to hopeful2 be slim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We all bounce around a bit. I think its one of the 'joys' of being female. Don't sweat it. Stay off the scales as the previous poster suggested and wait a while. It'll soon start moving in the right direction. -
Okay, no one stated they were a doctor... Lets follow SoccerMom's advice, shall we?

There's nothing wrong with eating a banana. If you're craving it, enjoy it, it's all good. As long as you're eating it as part of a Protein and Vitamin rich diet and by eating it, you're not depriving yourself of the space for other vital nutrients. Try not to let the weird and the wonderful get to you on here!

Help me please! I'm losing my hair
Madam Reverie replied to jamill527's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow, that's a lot of weight to lose and so quickly.. Congratulations and commiserations in equal measure! There really is nothing we can do about and as you say, we should Celebrate what we have achieved. We are most certainly sexy with or without hair. I think I might invest in some wigs or something -
i think my sleeve is making me hate my spouse
Madam Reverie replied to abarta83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh, honey... You won't be the first to experience this and you certainly won't be the last. Firstly - you're the one who had surgery, so if you want to go and run marathons, then that's your choice - not his. He might've promised to do it with you, but really, he shouldn't be forced to - if he doesn't want to. Maybe do another activity together - ideally one he wants to partake in? As for your growing impatience with him across the board and drawing a correlation between that and your weight loss? Do you think you're worth more now - and he's worth less? Or you're worth more and he's stayed the same? You need to ask yourself the question as to whether YOU believe YOU settled for less, because you were previously bigger? Sadly, its all about your perception of the situation. If you love him, you'll bring him with you and discuss your feelings/frustrations. If you don't.. then its a whole different ball game of which you can only decide upon... I wish you the best of luck x -
Help me please! I'm losing my hair
Madam Reverie replied to jamill527's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yep, I'm in exactly the same boat. I have hair that comes down to my boobs. Its layered and very fine naturally. The lower tier and the sides of my head look so sparse, I'm giving consideration to having it cut off into a bob. Every time I take out the hairband which has secured it, my heart sinks. Wrapped up in the band is what seems like half my hair. My hair grows so slowly and it took me 3 years to grow it out from a bob the last time. Its quite depressing having to face that again. I really don't think that anything can be done to stop it. We just have to focus on trying to hit our goals and hoping for the best. I share your pain, sister -
And..... I rest my case.....

Or how about when children grow up to be adults who appear to have little social awareness and are uneccesarily harsh in the delivery of their opinion? If deploying playground level psycho-babble is the order of the day here, then maybe - and this is just a thought - that those with little social awareness and an apparent inability to tailor their communications to their audience, may, themselves, have required a 'softer, more understanding hand' when they were growing up? Who knows? It might have cultivated a more measured, inclusive and empathetic attitude? With a few more hugs and words of gentle encouragement, it could then have prevented the somewhat disproportionately aggressive high-handed judgement and advice intoned on others - no matter how well intentioned - and allow for the fostering of effective and warm relations with all participants? Not, as it appears, for it to have been delivered out of frustrated aggression which has ultimately undermined the core tenets and value of what has been said and affected the social marginalisation of the message bearer? Now there's a thought... Right. Time for my smoking jacket, warm fire, Freud compendium and slippers, methinks....

Willow, I'm in the UK and you can get Isopure clear from Monster supplements online. Its a clear fruit-flavoured drink with 32g of Protein in it. I bought 8 cases of the stuff, drank only half of it, up until I got onto week 4-6, when real food kicked in and I'm going to have to shift the remainder on ebay. So, my advice and if you can't handle milk-based anything - is to go for that. I found it invaluable for the first two weeks - even though it tastes like foot and arse! if you have any questions, just shout

Sugar Free Junk
Madam Reverie replied to gohelpyourself's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Whilst you're so recently out of surgery, I wouldn't worry about fats/sugars - anything really. Get what you can, down your throat, and aspire for it to be good stuff. Its all good -
So, that's pretty cool, I guess....
Madam Reverie replied to Madam Reverie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That's really very kind of you indeed. Thank you. Celebration? Nah, it's reward enough, to be honest. I might consider shaking a tail feather or running around my local high-street naked when and if I get to goal! Think the picture above, but with less coverage and a big 'Weeeeeeee' being loudly delivered whilst weaving through the bemused throng! -
As of today, I'm in 'onederland'.... That's right, people. I weigh under 200lbs. I think the last time that happened, I had just been born. Yippppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Oink oink before pre-op liquids?
Madam Reverie replied to nelle1230's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Before the sleeve, I LOVED lasagne. In fact, I could eat half a tray of it, a side salad with balsamic dressing, a good slab of garlic ciabatta, all washed down with glasses of red wine and followed up, after 1 hours digestion room, with a nice desert of something creamy, cold and incredibly calorific. Immediately after the sleeve (day 1 to week 4), I mourned lasagne. At week 4, I tried it and was fine. Albeit it was a VERY small amount. I am now 4 months and 19 days out. Tonight, I ate lasagne. I had the equivalent of 3 tablespoons full. No garlic ciabatta. Half a glass of red wine and a miniscule amount of a side salad. I am PERFECTLY content. food funerals aren't really necessary. 6 weeks post surgery, you can try whatever it is you're lusting for (as long as its not oodles of the crap stuff) and a little will make you feel satiated and lovely. That, I think, is the absolute blessing of this surgery. You can eat normal food - just very small amounts of it. It's all in your heads people -
1 day post op- dry heaving? Help!
Madam Reverie replied to wwled's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Take a deep breath, take it real easy... With everything. Take tiny sips of Water and relax. Try not to push yourself to move too much if you're feeling nauseous and weak. The more you tense, the worse it'll get. Baby steps at this time with everything and within a very short space of time, it'll ease. Wish you all the best.
