  1. This, is a non argument. The guy made a choice (we all did). The guy lost a bunch of weight (we all have). So, he's a politician. He still has bowel movements (like the rest of us. Sometimes). I shall now go back to sleep, save I feel the need to groan loudly, slip down in my chair in a state of dribbling unconsciousness to remain comatose until someone wakes me up with, well, the heady aroma of a slice of pizza or summink.
  2. Than watching all your long-cultivated hair, detach itself from your head, pool on your shoulders in a sprawling mass... and then swirl its way through the hot Water, down towards the plug hole. Thoroughly blocking the damn thing. Urgh... And we're not talking small amounts, either. Okay, you can stop this now, oh body of mine. I've had enough already...

That'll be a no. This hair shall stay tied up until it grows back. Failing that - its all coming off...

Today.. I cut my hair off. A good 4-5 inches. I hate it. But... it does look healthier.. Urgggh... no hairstyle-hair.....

It is that. I, too have fine hair. I'm thinking a good hatchet job or a wig!

Don't you believe it. I was give or take, exactly the same weight as you on surgery day. My weightloss has been slower, I've done everything I could do and it's still falling out. I think it's just in the hands of the gods and how your body reacts to the surgery itself. It sucks!

    Ok guys....I need help

I still get hungry every 2.5 hours, so dont worry, you,'re not alone. I was told to snack on nuts and dried fruit. I do this and also stuff some deli ham or roasted chicken down my neck. Milk is good too, for seeing you through. We're clearly part of the hungry brigade :0)
  8. The love you have for your child shines through. Beautifully written. My thoughts are with you. x

    Vacation and alcohol

Take it very easy on the food. . And take the alcohol totally in moderation. .. 6 week s is early. Try half a glass of wine or half a shot of spirit absolutely drowned in non fizzy mixer. As long as its not fizzy or acidic you should be able to enjoy :0)

    x-posted - So disappointed - WWYD?

I just paid the equivalent amount of $1700 for pursuing a job (travel/hotels etc) I knew I had little chance of getting. I still rolled the dice though. Your friend has the same insurance.. Worked out for them. This is the entire deductable for one year - it's $408 more. In the greater scheme of things, its not a deal-breaker. Its just frustrating and more than a bit inconvenient. No guts - no glory - that's what I say.

I've got a three month supply of minoxil sitting in my cupboard.. But I read that your hair falls out when you start to use it, the regrowth is like baby hair and the moment you stop using it, all the regrowth falls out... I have also been swallowing Biotin since 2 months before the surgery.... Bah humbug! Someone posted on a threat that they were prescribed cortisone injections to the scalp from their doctor... Might see if I can tap up the bankrupt NHS to see if they'd consider prescribing it...

    The Easy Way Out

50 people on a 'weightlifters' website decided to have a 'vote' followed by a 'serious' 'discussion' (all, what, 8 of them?) about WLS..... LMFAOHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ... 'nuff said.

Well, it appears that bang on the four month mark it started.. and we're now at the 5 month mark and its going apace! The pre-surgery photo? Yes, that was a grown out bob. The bob when it was done was shaved up the back. Bloody Vidal Sassoon! Maybe I'll go for the trim first.. Lose three-four inches and see where I am with it... Being an all or nothing girl, its either long hair.. or its short hair.. But seeing as I'm thinning at the sides and front.. I reckon I'll be knackered on all fronts!

I have layered hair. Down to my boobs. I'm thinking shoulder length bob. Blunt cut. Can't keep these layers when they're starting to look so sparse and straggly... Hurrumpf.. Back to the 90's I go...

I've been taking it... So much for that! Lets just hope that it makes my hair grow back more quickly... and before I'm totally bald...
  17. Madam Reverie

    Dont laugh.... Ok maybe

Laugh? At your photo, I would certainly share in your happiness.. Miley Cyrus? That would be more like crying for you, darling

No, its not nice.. Not nice at all. I want to get angry with it..

Well, this girl is now seriously considering cutting her hair off into a bob.. But I'm not sure what works best? Long hair that's sparse or short hair that's sparse? Either way - it sucks monkeys butt....
  20. Hmm.. can you take that hurt and turn it into a bit of anger? If so, (which is what I do), I clean. Yep, it's pathetic, but I clean when I'm angry. I scrub the ever-living-f*** out of the cupboards, the bath, the floor; you name it, I clean it. I am like a woman possessed. At the end of my crazy cleaning session, I am tired, I have had the time to mull over what ever has bothered me, I have new perspectives and, as an added bonus - a very clean house! After that, I am usually so tired, I sit down in my comfortable and beautifully clean house. Have a cup of tea and a biscuit. Then its the film and a little nap. Might not solve your problems, but its an excellent distraction/displacement activity which has the added bonus of leaving you with a lovely clean house. Chin up chicken
  21. Not weird. Happened to me, too. I think it was the anesthetic... I upped my liquid considerably.. I soon knew I needed to go!
  22. Okay, I'm going to keep it short and sweet.. Your Nutritionist, is bonkers.

Pre op weight loss- All Boobs

I lost if off my shoulders.. Then it migrated to my boobs.. then my face (for a bit).. then my legs.. then back up to my shoulders/chest.. then finally.. I lost some off my stomach/hips.. and then the roundabout started again! Either way, my boobs have gone bye-byes. Like Indigo.. But a bit more satsuma than orange in a sock... Who ever thought I'd need bleedin' padding up there?! Sorry hon. It will even out eventually
  24. What a very tough call. I am not a parent, so I wouldn't even dream of adding anything on the pros and cons side of this. Nor have I been to Mexico - which is truly the information you're after. What I will say though, as an adult that was fat all the way through my adolescence ... What progressive parents you are for avidly exploring all the options. I commend you for being so open-minded. I spoke about weight loss surgery to my mother when I was 14 ish.. She laughed me out of the room with a sneer of derision. How totally different my life would have been if I had not had to endure the years of heartache that my weight had caused. The smashed self-esteem, the mocking, the insecurity, the skewed perception of relationships, my inferiority complex. It goes on and on... and it impacted upon EVERYTHING which then in turn, hugely influenced my adulthood. I hope you get all the information you can and for it to be quality information - without judgement or derision. My thoughts are with you and your daughter and wish you all the best of luck -in whatever you decide.
