Indigo rocks. That is a fact. The 'give-a-shitometer' in that turn, has been plagiarized off me. Please don't plagiarize my ideas, unless you cite the source. It's depressing. And, in print? illegal

Orange is NOT my new black! How my fashions have changed!
Madam Reverie replied to ziggypbang's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am all colours of the rainbow. Shopping is a pleasure - and expensive. In fact, I got into a pair of GAP US sized 10 trousers yesterday. (According to their label, that's a UK 14) I was elated. Just a shame that GAP are made for midgets and my 5ft 10 limbs made it look like the hem of the trousers had had an argument with my ankles.... -
Weight coming off too fast?

Oh! And you need vitamin D, too. That's very important. -
Weight coming off too fast?
Madam Reverie replied to angiem1973's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's about right. Its a mental thing to see on the scale, but it is fine. It will taper off from going so fast very soon. You'll hit the three week stall, which can last for ages and then it plods its way down from there on in. If you can't get Protein in, at least try and get as much Iron, Vitamin and B12 supplements in as possible. These are incredibly important. Oh, along with your Water, too. As for the protein, have you tried some protein water like Isopure clear? Tastes like donkeys arse, but it will keep your levels up. As for being dizzy? This eases up but you have to maintain your protein and water levels. I'm over 6 months out and if I don't watch it, I can get dizzy when I stand up to fast. Its a constant battle, the water and protein thing. Breathe easy, you're doing okay! -

lol you have my full permission. As long as you use the following citation: Kim Jong Un. Muahahaha! -

Eek, reading that back, I have to admit that was a rather good one (by that I mean scathing) - even for me at 11pm at night! Don't worry, if I disappear it won't be for too long. Cup of tea, painting my nails, conjugal relations... As for a coup d'etat... Now there's a thought! <starts plotting> -

LMFAO That, just made me chortle very very loudly! As for the drink - you deserve one (or three!). We all do! (now awaits the 'should you really be doing that? brigade) As for your claim to no-edamameness and zero proteinshakeyness. I am in awe of you. You take Prime Minister, I'll go for President. Couldn't do a worse job than the two current incumbents?! Together we can rule the world x <insert made evil genius laughter here> -

Oh lordy. I would reply privately to her. Something along the lines of.... 'With regards to my surgery, and I am sure its me to which you were referring, I felt I didn't want to tell the world about it just yet. The limited few that do know, have by in large respected that privacy. With all due respect, my surgery is a private matter, one of which I wanted to tell people in my own good time. I am disappointed that you feel because I've had surgery, that I am now no longer worthy of 'being looked up to'. In consideration of this point, I would like you to know that I had recently presented with a number of serious health problems of which long term and had I not taken action, would have developed into significantly debilitating issues. Subsequently and on the recommendation of my medical team, i took the very difficult decision to undergo a serious operation to increase my long term health prospects. I don't expect you to understand this predicament, as its easy to make assumptions about weight loss surgery. However and as my friend, I had hoped you would have extended the courtesy to talk to me about it first, before posting something which has fundamentally hurt me. Given the decision I had to make and the surgical procedure and diet I now have to endure, this has in no way been easy and your comment left me and my efforts, undermined. I am saddened by this. I hope this clarifies my position for you and if there's anything you'd like to discuss further, please feel free to contact me directly.' Or, if you don't really care, you could just reply with: BITE ME!!!!

Vomitting after eating
Madam Reverie replied to honeyg317's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Two weeks is a little early for pureed. If you are going to attempt it, you need to make it exceptionally plain. Low fat/salt/sugar. What have you been trying to eat? How much have you been trying to eat? I would keep it to full liquids for a while and until you're settled... -

My answer to her would have been 'Oh, did I? Well, if I did and you're in possession of photographic evidence of this, please do report me to the police. Hell, I'll go and report myself now. Thanks for the heads up!' -
32 pounds in the 10 weeks post surgery while my friend lost 50 in 8...
Madam Reverie replied to KittyChick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay, I'm going to throw it out there... You need to be looking at your BMI's - if you HAVE to do the comparison thing. I absolutely GUARANTEE that she will hit a plateau shortly when she hits certain BMI points. We ALL Have. It WILL equalise. Don't fret, my pretty. Although it seems like its all about the exercise and the calories - it really isn't - although it is a factor long term. Some of us are quicker at losing than others. I am a slow loser. I'm good with that. It will come off and you WILL shrink. You're not in a competition and you shouldn't judge your success by hers. Take this car analogy.. You're a Ferrari and she's a Volvo. You wouldn't put the same engine in both cars, would you? Same with how your body works, too -

RIGHT! Can I be arsed to address the person who has obviously skulked in (no doubt at the behest of someone else), in an attempt to tell me to get out of my own thread, (which I started incidentally ) , labouring the point that if I'm bored I should leave the site all together? Yes, I can! Huzzah! I said 'take a break'. Please tell me, someone, where that phrase denotes leaving the website on a permanent basis? Could it mean that I'm walking away from my laptop for a cup of tea perhaps? A walk in the park? An opportunity to paint my toe nails (which, incidentally, would be infinitely more entertaining than reading your unwarranted bile). Did I say I was going to do it? No, strangely, I did not! Do me a favour you mealy mouthed, inspirationally challenged tosspots. Go skulk in someone elses thread, or better still, go and create your own! That's right, create your own. But that's right, you cant can you? Because you're toe-curlingly, eye-wateringly dull! I never wanted to really go here, I thought (ever the optimist) that the mundanity of repetition on this website was solely limited to how many edamame Beans and Protein shakes people had managed consume. Sadly not. I can now extend the definition of utter tedium to the attempted supercilious, mealy-mouthed idiots who contribute little of value and originality, other than a bilious vomitorium of defensive low-level vitriol to those they are clearly jealous. As cuts both ways, there are a myriad of threads on the VSG forum. If you're having a whale of a time counting your beans; do, please, carry on. However and to prevent me from having to go here again, just quietly take your leave and get out of mine. Lets leave us happy and personality filled individuals to get on with it. 'Cause whether or not it had escaped your attention, we appear to be making this place a little bit more interesting, one post at a time. -

I am in love with this procedure. So simple, but so effective. I really hope it works for you. The logic of it is endless. (and sadly, no, the aspiration bit didn't throw me. It made me giggle in a 'haha, you farted' kind of way.) Probably because the logic of shoving it down your throat rather than up your bum makes little sense to me anatomically! Yes, I am that sad Ooh, exciting! One question though.. Why YOUR blender?! -

I am exactly the same. If I am not entertained, I eat. I am grazing like the proverbial cow. For example, right now, I'm eating sunflower seeds.. Hand-mouth-eat-chew-hand-mouth-eat-chew (ad infinitum ad nauseum) I have to acknowledge on some level there is an addictive creature in me. I am hoping, when circumstances permit (ie I move home), that I'll be able to transfer that addiction to exercise... As it stands and as of right now? I am not doing what I should be doing - and I know it. Hang in there, sista x -

That, quite frankly, is awesome. I want to know how they're going to do it. All the gory details please! I don't envy your recurrent illness though. You must have been wiped out with the bugs and the drugs. In August 2012 when I came back from somewhere fairly awful, I, too, got quite sick and was pumped full of everything. Trips to the Tropical disease centre, arms like a junkies. Took months to get my mojo back.. And a year later I decided to have this surgery! Not the brightest of ideas, but (touch wood), I'm all good (albeit my recent infection (unrelated)) took two courses of antibiotics to clear. You poor thing. You must've felt like a ragged dog. Hope you feel better soon. x Now and in the meantime, please do make my stomach turn with this groovy procedure you're going to have! -

For this, sadly, I have no idea. Any time that word has come up, there's been a dearth of people arguing over the semantics in meaning. All very time consuming and deeply unhelpful. I mean this sincerely - why not drop Alex a line. Its a valid point. Its a valid topic. Maybe somewhere, someone who is qualified in it, can provide some robust CBT exercises that we could all try to practice. I know I'd certainly give it a go
