Halloween Weight loss Challenge
Bea Amaya replied to FeeIsMe2's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Now that we have a few weeks' worth of data, I created a tab in the measures spreadsheet with graphing capability. It's not much, but it can still be interesting. Open the spreadsheet and choose the "Graphs" tab at the bottom of the page. If you choose your name in the list on the right, your stats will show up in the chart. I'm including a screenshot of mine here for you to see what I mean: Anyway, just having more fun with Excel. Enjoy! Link to online spreadsheet: http://sdrv.ms/19Qmc3j -

What do you order at restaurants after weight loss surgery?
Bea Amaya replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The biggest reaction I get when I eat out is over the fact that I order, specifically, no drink. This simple request causes a great deal of confusion and even occasional concern (i.e. "Oh my! did your waitress neglect to get your drink?! Can't I get you something? Not even water?"). -
I am morbidly obese, but surprisingly healthy. I don't know how many times I heard my doctor say something like, "I wish I could encourage you to lose weight for your health, but all your measures just look normal!" Like jandseakin said, a big part of my decision was quality of life. Also, I work as the marketing manager in a mid-size, but growing, business. I need to be able to interact with people without my obesity being an unwelcome issue or influence. So I guess you could say part of my decision for this is career growth.

Just for the fun of it, I put a spreadsheet online for anyone who wants to play with the data collected in this topic: http://sdrv.ms/1bzBXk3. Here's a screenshot: -

FABULOUS! We have similar starting starting stats (I'm older and slightly shorter) but seeing this has definitely given me hope about reaching my own goals. AWESOME PROGRESS! CONGRATS!

Trying to gain some stats please help me out.
Bea Amaya replied to AutumnPunkin's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It's almost embarrassing to post this, but I keep incredibly detailed stats about my progress (I'm less than 10 weeks out) in a place where anyone can view them. Before anyone expresses concern over my "obsession" I just want to say it's more about me being obsessed about Excel than it is being obsessed about my weight. All I really do is enter my daily weight and occasionally note any "milestones" achieved. The spreadsheet does all the rest. Anyway, here's the link if you want to look at it: http://sdrv.ms/1aS4JYG -

Fred, you're doing so good I think you need to set a different Halloween goal! You originally set it at 245, for a loss of 10 lbs., but have already lost 12 lbs. Nice progress! Congrats! -

I'm in Texas. I keep an apartment in Houston, near where I work, but go home on the weekends to see my hubby (retired) down the coast. It's a strange lifestyle, all that being apart, but it's worked for us for years. Good luck with your progress...I'll be watching [chasing] you! -

Curious I checked out your profile to find we really are sleeve sisters. I'm a year older and an inch taller. Other than that, you and I have a lot in common. I don't even remember the 230s however, so I'm chasing you on that one. Still, I'll get there soon enough. Congrats on your awesome progress! -

Hmm...participation in this challenge has really fallen off. 43 people reported in week 1, 46 in week 2, and only 6 in week 3. Hopefully others will update their numbers this weekend. The group weight-loss stats are really impressive! -

How to make shakes taste better
Bea Amaya replied to rocknrollmama1980's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with TapSnap about PB2, if you like peanut butter that is. I bought mine at Walmart and add it to my shakes and often put it in my small ice cream maker to give it more of a frozen yogurt consistency. -
Bariatric friendly desserts?
Bea Amaya replied to desertgirl6801's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just finished off a concoction made only of vanilla protein shake with 2 scoops of PB2 and 15 minutes in the Cuisinart Ice Cream maker. Gosh it was yummy! -

Oh it was the idea of Feels2Me, not me. I just happen to like statistics, measurements, and tracking tools so have volunteered to do that part. It IS fun, however.
