  1. Thank you vegasneon! Amanda
  2. Isn't that what we both just said, too lose weight and learn to have small portions instead if large??? (That would be hunger reduction) No one said we were mad at people for giving advice, this was just our opinion on it! No worries Dee, some people clearly can't read and always think they need to bash! Hang in there! Amanda
  3. Me too, I'm not an exerciser, but I love to walk! When was your surgery, and your stats, if you don't mind me asking:) Mine are: Surgery 8/28/13 HW 259 SW 244 CW 235 GW 150ish 5'5" Amanda
  4. I've had one in a doctors office last year for severe heartburn, and then this one for this surgery, but they both went exactly the same:) Amanda
  5. I'm glad we think alike!! I'm the same way I don't want my life revolving around packing a lunch for myself at 33 yrs old just to go to a friends house! Amanda
  6. This is pretty much how I feel, I don't mind giving up soda or alcohol forever, but I'm not giving up my pizza!! I basically wanted to try to re-learn how to eat and not be a pig! Have 1 slice and be satisfied instead of thinking I need to eat a whole large by myself. If I want a few chips I'm going to eat them! I really just hope this is a lifestyle change in regards to making me realize that a small portion is just as good! Amanda

    Time off from work

I don't believe they can get rid of you over a medical procedure, get a doctors note! Amanda
  8. Didn't feel a thing! I went in to the hospital where they go over everything a dozen times, lol. They put an IV in, give you a small amount of anesthesia, and do the scope and its over! You probably aren't out for more than 15-30 minutes, tops!! Good luck! Amanda

    I WISH I'D KNOWN....

SheWins1 I agree so much with the heating pad, started as soon as I got home, and it helped tremendously, I forgot about that!! Amanda

    I WISH I'D KNOWN....

I found out I had sleep apnea 1 week prior to surgery, so yeah I was freaked out!! Remind them when you are going in that you have it!! That's what I did, probably didn't have to, but it eased my mind! I told them as we were going back "just keep me alive, I have babies at home". I was so worried I wouldn't wake up:( But I did and here I am:) Amanda

    I WISH I'D KNOWN....

No drain tube for me, the only thing extra I had was a Picc line, due to me having terrible veins...my doctor didn't want them trying to put in an IV a dozen times the morning of surgery....and that was easy stuff too! Don't get me wrong I was a nervous wreck about this surgery, I prayed and prayed about it, but after it was all over, it was really a piece of cake!! Amanda

    I WISH I'D KNOWN....

I did not try the gas x, I just walked, walked, and walked. Before they would let me up to walk, I was so uncomfortable, I just tossed and turned in the bed!! I was up every 2 hours though after they let me, and I would walk several laps around the med/surg floor..lol They told me that I've been the only patient to get up and be that motivated...I have a good motivation though...16year old and 9 month old!! Amanda

Yes I did!! Only half of a bottle though, I got the grape flavored. To me it's like war head candy x10. Not very pleasant:/

    I WISH I'D KNOWN....

Negatives No rest in the hospital at all! Gas pains were really rough!! The drink for the post-op leak test is terrible! I just want to have a bite of something! As much as I like Water, it's hard getting in that much! Crushed up pills for 1 week are the worst!! The bruised feeling is rough too! People talk about food way too much! Positives I can get out of the floor much easier with some belly gone! My belly and face are already way smaller! I've already went from 20+ jeans to 16!!!! Yay Before weight 259 Surgery weight 244 Current weight 235 Surgery date 8/28/13
  20. Good luck, it will be over before you know it!
  21. I'm 3 days out and have lost 7 pounds but I feel huge and bloated in the belly, is that normal??
  22. I'm 3 days post op and feeling pretty great!! But I constantly have a rumbling/gurgling in my belly. Like from my butt to my ribs, is this normal. It's not a hunger pang, or a BM coming either. Just gurgling!!
