    Which embarrasses you more?

I don't mind the compliments... they can be nice. What I mind are the food nazis. The "OH, should you be eating that" people. I have a very good friend that I work closely with and have business lunches with very frequently... she has never had a weight issue a day in her life. I would kill for her figure! Anyway, she acts like my personal food police and in front of others! She really does mean well, but man she pisses me off!!! UGH!

    Fred Phelps and Westboro Church

:faint:OK, unfortunately... I live in Topeka, KS. Actually, I live about 7 blocks from the twisted, F*&%ed up little Westboro Phelps "compound".... AND my husband is serving his second tour in Iraq right now. I have to pass by these sick fu&*ers everyday on my way to work... or in the evening when my children and I go out. THey hold up very disturbing image signs with stick figures in very graphic positions and they have very young children holding them up! Imagine explaining to your children why these bastards have signs thanking God for the war that took their Daddy away from them? UGH! These people are the lowest of the low.... they are a very big blight on Topeka... and no, Topeka DOES NOT support them. They are a pimple on our ass! I wish they knew what it was like to live in a country that had no right to free speech, or right to believe in whatever fu*$ed up version of religion that they are into. I wish they knew what it was like to have to fight for their country or worry about a loved one that is..... Mostly, I just wish they would move to another country if they think this one is so damn bad. I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN! AND I AM PROUD TO BE A SOLDIER'S WIFE! I also have to say that they shame the rest of us.... just another warped cult that gives the rest of us normal, sane people a bad name. (OH, AND they all look inbread too... LOL) Sorry for the tangent... all this just really makes me want to vomit.... I'll get off my soapbox now.

    3rd Fill - feeling weird

WOW... that is awful! I'm sorry you have such an ordeal with your fills! I have only had this happen this time.... and I don't have an issue with needles so I'm not sure what is going on. I will try to have more protein before next time though.
  7. Ok, I had my 3rd fill this afternoon. I did just great, went easier than usual actually. When I walked out to go set up my next appointment though, I started to feel really woozy and shaky. Very cold all of a sudden and weird. Anyone else ever have this happen? I was tempted to walk back to nurse's station and ask to see the doc again, but I was running late for work. I have to tell you though, I was a little worried I wouldn't make it to my car. I was fine after awhile and a couple drinks of water. Has anyone else had this happen?

    What would you do???

I also had very good restriction after surgery. I was banded June 4th and I have had 2 fills... and I'm down a little over 40 pounds. I feel healthier than I have in a very long time. The thing is, we aren't on a diet anymore. Diets are over... this is a new way of living. You don't need drugs to use as a crutch. Your body and your band is all you need to get healthy. At least for me anyway. Good luck! I hope things work out for you!
  9. :help:OK, this is weird.... Does anyone get pain in their back, between shoulder blades when over-eating or maybe eating very cold foods? I got banded June 4th of this year and I have had 2 fills. I am feeling good restriction, although my loss has slowed quited a bit. I notice that lately when I over eat I get severe pain between my shoulders.... it hurts to breathe. At first I didn't know what it was, but I think it is because I may have eaten a little too much. This hasn't happened before, so I wonder if any of you have this problem? What do you do besides just wait it out for it to pass? Please help!

    Pregnancy question

I just came across this thread and I noticed that no one ever replied. How are you doing? Did everything go ok for you and the baby? I hope all is well....

What happens if you drink with a meal?

If I drink while I'm eating, it tends to sit right on top of the food and come back up. Plus you will be full longer if you don't wash it through your stomach. I was worried too before surgery, and I hate to sound like everyone else that says "it's the best thing I've ever done".... but it really is. I have to say it was rough for a couple days after surgery, but I would relive it in a heartbeat. I feel better now than I have in years, and I have just lost 30 lbs. I was banded June 4th and it is just now July 23rd.... I started at 244, so that is alot of weight for me to lose in that amount of time... but best of all is how I feel. I do my best to drink a glass of water before I eat. For instance, when you go to a restaurant, you get your drinks first... I always drink as much as I possibly can before the food arrives. Also, when I work out I get really thirsty, so that helps! Hang in there!

I love the Atkins chocolate shakes. I drink these alot when I am in a hurry or in my liquids / mushies stages. They are good!!!

    1st fill today!

To be honest, I was terrified how my fill was going to go. I have to say it wasn't bad at all... actually it was the weirdest feeling. My Dr. numbed me and then had to poke around a little, then put in 1cc and we were all done. I am doing really well getting my liquids down and even had some fruit for lunch, I can't eat as much at each sitting though, so that is good! AND I'm down 25 lbs since my surgery! WOOHOO!!! :whoo: Has anyone else felt restricted after their first fill? Or even before 1st fill? I have... just wondering if this is the norm?

    Large band VS Small Band

What is the "smaller" band size you are talking about? I asked my doctor today what size mine is and he said it is a 10. I asked him why I didn't have a 4 and he said there isn't one. I'm confused. He said the smallest is a 9.75, unless it is a different kind of band?

    Whats the worst you've heard?

People can be such jerks! I just chock it up to complete ignorance. If they had any common sense at all, these comments would not be made. My favorite comeback is, yeah I may be fat, but I can LOSE weight... you will always be ugly!:whoo:
