Coffee after being sleeved
chapasmamita replied to soyfpine0405's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Coffee won't kill you!! Drink in moderation and you will be just fine. I was drinking 1/4 - 1/2 cup of coffee 2 weeks post op w surgeon approval. Just watch creamers etc that you add. -
I had NO pre op diet except nothing to eat or drink from midnight before surgery. So I say eat light, u don't want to mess w your weight loss so far. Keep your business to yourself if you don't want everyone to know because at the end of the day it is your choice. Enjoy yourself!

Wondering If anyone else has experienced this?? I am 3 weeks post op. I was sleeping on my stomach, woke up and tried to roll over and got a sharp burning pain just to the left of my belly button. Hurt so much that I held my breath. Then it passed. Now it's a little sore. This happen to anyone? I live in New York and I'm on vacation in Virginia right now. Don't know if I should be really concerned???

Chronic tight chest/pressure feeling w/ band

Oh and don't be discouraged if you start putting weight back on after they unfill your band. I gained back about 20 lbs when they unfilled mine in march. -
Chronic tight chest/pressure feeling w/ band
chapasmamita replied to mich's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was a revision on 7-17-13. The tightness In your chest may be anxiety? I never experienced any tightness feelings with my terrible band. I am so happy to have that crap out of my body!! You will LOVE your sleeve. Don't get me wrong the first few days were hell for me. I have Zero tolerance for pain so it was tough. I'm exactly 2 weeks post op and I feel great. Still some mild pain on my left side but its very minor. The sleeve doesn't feel like anything. No annoying ports that stink out. It's great!! -
I guess they really weren't true friends if they are hating on you now that you are shining!! Keep your head up. Out with the old and in with the new. Haters are gonna hate. F 'em!!

july 2013 sleevers
chapasmamita replied to sureaboutme2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm about 20 minutes south of Syracuse had my surgery done at Upstate Medical University Community campus -
I had the same exact thoughts that U are having. I went from lap band to sleeve on 7/17/13. I am 30 and a mom of 3. I was terrified leading up o surgery. I was making myself nuts. Thinking morbid thoughts like what my house would be like without me. CRAZINESS!! Then I just prayed about it and asked my husband if I was doing the right thing. I got reassurance from god and my husband. You just have to try to push the negative thoughts out of your mind and think positive thoughts about how slim and healthy u will be a year from now. You will be just fine!!

Thanks everybody!! It's not like I'm craving a drink. It would just be nice to have one. So many bbq's and parties this summer. Have to watch everyone eat and drink. Boo!! But I know it will be so worth it in the end! -

How Long R U On Liquids After Band Removal?
chapasmamita replied to reshiapooh96's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes lol I meant the band. I got sleeved 7-17 so I have sleeve on my mind. Yes the frigging lap band. The worst invention ever!!! -
Hello!!! I can totally relate to you!! I was banded march 2012, got sick all the time band slipped. I'm 30 and a mom of 3 boys. I had my band to sleeve surgery almost a week ago on 7/17. I too was absolutely terrified of the "what if's". I work in a hospital and I have seen people in the icu from complications from bariatric surgery so I think that's what scared the **** out of me. To the days leading up to my revision I was having visions of what life would be like for my kids if something did go wrong. I was really making myself crazy. I knew I absolutely had to get that useless band out of my body and I knew that I didn't want to go through surgery again so it was all or nothing. I said my prayers and felt comfort from that. Had my friends and family pray for me and I am fine! And you will be fine too! Although I'm quite miserable on liquids right now, I know that I made the right decision. I can't wait to run around the baseball field with my boys!! Good luck and you will do great!

July 17 band to sleeve
chapasmamita replied to chapasmamita's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am so glad my friend told me about this site!! Thanks for the feedback. It's great to know "I'm not alone". I am soooo glad to have that band out of me. I was miserable with it. Couldn't keep anything down until they realized it slipped. Then had all the Fluid removed from it until I could get in on the 17 for my sleeve. I'm sure my buyers remorse will fade as my weight starts to drop. I am really looking forward to the soft solids stage. I'm starving!!! As far as the bathroom goes, it's standard procedure to give a suppository on the 2nd day post op prior to discharge so I went once at the hospital and once when I got home yesterday. I am going to start a stool softener just because I'm soo scared to poop!!
