Like I said in my bio I am married with two daughters, ages 14 and 12, and I have two dogs Oliver a pomapoo age 11 and Rocco my French bulldog age 3. In 2008 I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis and one year and five months later I left my job with the USPS where I was a rural letter carrier (mailman). I guess I could say I always battled with my weight but I never worried about it. The highest weight I had ever been was 285 in 2005. I had gone to Weight Watchers in 2005 and lost 50 lbs. I pretty much kept the weight off until I got sick. After I got sick I just started putting on the weight partly from the medications and partly from the depression I was going through. Food was my comfort. Last year I was at my highest weight ever in my life at 365 lbs. I had started going to Weight Watchers again but it wasn't helping and I also joined a gym both because of my weight but also for my RA because movement is great for my joints. I lost maybe 5 lbs and I was feeling desperate. I had heard of weight loss surgery but didn't know what it was about. My wife suggested we go and check out the bariatric office and I set up an appointment and met the doctor. I was so happy. I am excited to set off on this new adventure and hopefully it works great for me. Since I have been with the Bariatric Physicians I had lost 38 lbs. (Yes I gained back 15 lbs). They have a great program and great people to work with.
