  1. Hi all, I had the sleeve done in Sept 2013. I've been having severe GERD/reflux since, with barium swallows showing instantaneous backflow up my esophagus. I'm tired of the constant heartburn, so I'm having the bypass procedure done next month. Anyone else go through this? How did the bypass procedure compare to the sleeve - pain wise, recovery time, post-op diet, etc? Also curious about additional weight loss... SW was 234, GW was 155. I reached 147, but CW is now 180 (sleeve has stretched and I admittedly haven't adhered to diet very well).
  2. Sleeve 09/13... Switching to Bypass 05/17

  3. I'm 7 weeks post op and 31lbs down. Stalled for the last two weeks :/

    September sleevers

Finally lost 30lbs!!! It was my first goal Starting weight 234.4 Surgery date 9/18 Current weight 204.0 5 pounds away from Onederland!!
  6. I can completely relate. This past weekend I had a cheesy bacon potato skin Friday, a chicken finger Saturday and part of a gyro Sunday. Stomach tolerated it all fine but I felt gross because of all the grease, and disappointed in myself for going back to foods I used to eat. Monday was reset day for me and since I haven't had anything but lean meats and Greek yogurt. On one hand it's really nice that my food options are increasing but on the other hand it's making it so much harder to avoid temptations.

I'm with ya... Stalled the last 4 days also. So frustrating and disheartening
  8. I'm 3 weeks post op, and enjoying not being hungry all the time like I used to be. Just curious how long it took for your hunger nerve to grow back and actually feel real hunger again?
  9. Yep, he told me he was cutting the nerve but that it would grow back/regenerate within a few months and that is typically when my hunger pangs would start to return

    Post-Op Driving

I was in the hospital 4 days due to nausea complications, was off pain meds the 2nd day in the hospital. Drove myself home with no problems (I did have a small pillow between me and the seat belt).
  11. Sleeved 9/18, so 3 1/2 weeks out. I'm eating scrambled eggs, smoothies, Greek yogurt, Soups, chicken (which I either chew to death or purée), chicken salad, cream of wheat, oatmeal, SF pudding and SF Popsicles. Last night I had a few bites of filet minion and it went down fine. I've been walking 30-45min a day, but no other exercise. Oh and I'm down 25lbs (starting weight 234.4, current weight 209.2).
  12. Thanks everyone! Just looking for a rough time frame This helps a lot

    Scars after surgery?

I'm 3 weeks post-op. I have 5 scars, the biggest (where they removed the stomach) is 1 inch long. The rest are half an inch or smaller.
  15. I feel your pain!! I'm down 24lbs and still wearing all the same clothes. I took my measurements though and unfortunately most of my weight has come from my boobs and face haha So no new pants for me for a while

    Congratulations on reaching Onederland!!
  18. Congrats!! That is awesome I'm also 3 weeks post op, down 24lbs. Lets keep it up!
  19. I was in for three nights I had bad nausea and was unable to keep down even a tablespoon of water. I was sleeved Weds, and unfortunately I vomited (all day Thurs) and Friday morning so they kept me until Saturday to make sure I could keep liquids down.
  20. Just wanted to share... I was sleeved on the 19th and was cleared yesterday to move onto puréed foods. I bought a rotisserie chicken and shredded and blended the chicken, and then added very little light mayo, garlic & onion powder, and salt n pepper, and it tastes like chicken salad... Super quick, easy, something different and gets in some protein. Thought I'd share for those getting tired of the same old.
