Has anyone had trouble with their port flipping? I went monday to my surgeon to get a fill and he couldn't find the membrane to the port to do the fill. He said the port may have flipped and is taking me under floroscopy next week to see. I hope it hasn't but i guess i will find out in a week:unsure: Brooke:bored:

Really need help- gaining wt and getting depressed and discouraged...
medic26541 replied to Bandme08's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded on 12/5/07 and am still going through the same thing. I am finally starting to feel some restriction after 4 fills and 9cc in a 14cc band. But am depressed because i have onl lost 10lbs since surgery and have been yo yoing with that. I too have laxed on my diet and am eating stuff i shouldn't. I am trying to do better but it is hard, as you know. If you need to vent or share or just want to talk. I would be happy to converse with you as i know how you feel. feel free to e-mail me or pm me Brooke medic26541@yahoo.com -
I too have the 14cc band. I just got filled to the 9cc point and am starting to feel a little restriction finally!! I was banded on Dec 5th, 2007 and have only lost 55lbs total, including preop diet. and only 10 since surgery, give and take 10lbs I am frustrated as all get out and am hoping that i will start losing soon. I am starting the exercise routine a little harder in hopes that that will also help, but like most on here am a true food addict. I have started to gain control, thank goodness, and hopefully soon my weight will show that. Brooke medic26541@yahoo.com

Tina, What happened with your fill? My surgeon couldn't find my port membrane and thought my port may have flipped. I went under floroscopy today and everything was fine, the surgeon just thinks he may have had a bad day or that it was just seated deep. Hopefully everything is ok with your port
-
i go next thursday under floroscopy to get a fill and see what is going on. the surgeon said possibly having to retack it down, that makes me kinda nervous, thanks for replying and i hope that mine goes as easy as yours did Brooke

Hey Laura, I have had a great experience with Dr Eckles and his staff. Good luck to you also!!

I have had one fill, I had it about 6wks out from my surgery which was on 12-5-07. I can't really feel a difference, so i guess i need to go get another one. I haven't lost that much weight because i can eat whatever and however much i want and don't really feel any restrictions. I guess that is a big key to go and get a fill, huh. Anyways, If you are losing weight and don't have any trouble with portions or getting hungry then i wouldn't get a fill either. If you start getting hungry and can eat more and aren't losing weight then it is probably time to get a fill I was afraid to get my first fill, it was a little painful due to my port being deep. But all in all it wasn't too bad Brooke banded 12-5-07:thumbup: SW 355, CW 305, GW 165

hey all, :whoo: I am 27 years old and have been married to a great man for 2yrs. I have a soon to be 7 year old step son that keeps us very busy. We live in Middle Tn, not too far from Nashville. I am a Paramedic and work on the ambulances and in the ER so i want to get healthy for me and to make life easier at work so i can help others better also. My Parents and Grandparents and actually whole maternal side of the family along with my husband are a great support. I come a family of decent sized people. I am the largest and hopefully soon will not be. I started my Journey at 355# and now just 6 days before surgery am down to 320#. I am excited to have my surgery on Dec 5th and am ready to go today. The insurance acceptance road was long, but did get approved only after a week and a half. I look forward to getting to know all of you and in getting the continued support that helps quite a bit. Brooke:clap2:

A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?
medic26541 replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey All! I am a week from being banded and have already lost 40lbs, i am proud of myself, of course i am on liquids and all that prep for surgery. I started at 355 pounds and now am at 320, started at 52 BMI and am now at 47 BMI. So still have a bit to go, but am getting there slow but sure. I commend everyone for there work and for losing all the weight. I know it is hard. Keep up the good work Brooke -
:clap2: I finally got my date, Dec 5th! I am excited and as it nears, nervous. I am afraid that going all liquids is going to drive me crazy next week. I am supposed to start my all liquid on Thanksgiving day but the nursing staff at my MD's office said the day after would be fine, just moderation on Thanksgiving. Any suggestions on how to get through it?
