I am 5 days out and so glad to hear from the others in the same boat. I am curious about the binder, what is that? I am walking around holding a pillow on my stomach. The gas pains/left shoulder/chest area are the worst thing. Anyone gotten through that pain yet and have any advice? Exactly how much are you walking around? I get up every hour and walk the house, but it isn't that much. Am I supposed to be doing more? I walked down the block and back tonight, but that was a first. The gas pains are so uncomfortable and I hate walking around holding my big stomach. Hope to hear from you all!

About the driving, I wasn't told specifically, but I feel like I could drive today, if I wanted to. This is 4 days out. I haven't been on the pain meds for a while, and I think that is important. My question is...when can you wear anything but loose pj's? I can't even think about a waistband or bra-ouch. Any suggestions?

For mushies I am having: cream of wheat, mashed potatoes, sugar free jello, applesauce. I just have 1/4 cup at a sitting. -
I was banded on Friday, and am on mushies as of yesterday. Mushies help a lot with the energy. Very small amounts, but I notice it really helps.

I am having trouble with the ticker. I thought I followed the advice, but it just shows the typing of the web site when I preview. Thanks for your help!

I just had my band placed on Friday, and I am doing fine. I am tired and a bit uncomfortable, but I think it is all normal. I am allowed to eat mushies and liquids and adding the mushies has increased my energy. I pretty much have been in loose pj's and would recommend getting tanks to wear in place of bras. I have been wearing two t-shirts because I didn't get any tanks and a bra is uncomfortable. Best of luck! -
I had surgery Friday with Dr. Spivak and today I am on "mushies" and liquids. I think they want to make sure you are eating enough, so you get your energy back.

I was at Dr. Spivak's last night as well, and I am going in tomorrow for the banding! I have the same questions you do, munchkincan. I will let you know how it goes! C.

Hello out there! I am getting banded tomorrow and am nervous about the ability to change habits after the surgery, the recovery time, etc. For those of you who were banded early in the month, how long until you wanted to be out with friends or out and about?
