Hi, Please HELP. I was banded one week ago today. My dr. allows you to start soft foods after 48 hours. This afternoon I drank a large galss of tomato juice. I don't hurt just feel really full and now I wonder if there is a limit to how much you should drink. The Dr. and Nurses and all the staff say Drink, Drink, Drink. Is it possible to drink too much????:faint:
  5. Hi Becca, Thanks for sending us the clip. I don't know it looks kinda scary to me. I hope it's a long time before I need a fill. I am so sore now the thought of it makes me want to run and hide. Enjoyed Monday nite can't wait for next the second Monday in September.

    Pain following surgery

Hi Shannon..I know just what you are feeling. Like maybe you have a brick in the pit of your stomach just under your diaphram. That's just the band and it will get better I promise. So will the shoulder pain. I had my surgery on Aug 1 (one week tomorrow) and the brick gets a little smaller each day. My shoulder pain started the evening of the second day and today was the first day that I didn't have any pain in my shoulder at all. Everyone says walking helps the shoulder. For me it way lying down. That seemed to me the only thing that stopped the pain. Hang in there it will get better.

    Pain following surgery

Good for you kacee. So, how do you feel about the lap band now and what you are having to do to adjust to it?
  8. Congratulations BandZski. It will be here before you know it.
  9. You are a fast worker LawBandster. Great pictures. So who's the scardy cat with the napkin over her face?
  10. Hello West Side Band ladies and one handsome gentlemen. I think we are officially a group. Seven banders and soon to be banders met this evening and we had a great time. It was so wonderful to have questions answered honestly from people who had been there. And the soon to be banded west siders had lots of questions to ask those of us who have our bands. It was very informative. We have decided to meet the first Monday of each month. Next month with the first Monday being Labor day we are going to meet on the second Monday. Its a fun group and we hope more of you will join us next month. It was such fun. And the best part.....we all ATE!!!. Well except for one very lovely very disciplined young beauty. What an inspiration to us all. Miss kad you know who you are. Come join us for fun, talk, and food. munchkincan:bounce:

  14. We are all saying a prayer for you. Try not to worry. Good luck to you Nancy
  15. Yes PLC we are open to ALL August banders. Past and Present. Please come. We are hoping to be in the back room. If the group is too small we may have to just get a table. Ask for Elaine or Nancy. We are saying between 6:30 and 7:00. Hope to see you there Nancy
  16. Hi jalati25, I sent you a PM but is said it did not go through so I will send it this way to be sure you receive it. I talked to Mike the manager at Los Tios today and I have booked the room for Monday August 6th at 6:30. If this is a problem let me know as soon as possible so I can cancel it. I told him our situation with food right now but added I was sure most everyone would order tea or something to drink. He said as long as we took care of the waiter there would be no chargefor the room. I told him as we progressed we would eat more and hopefully there would be more of us attending. Monday is a good slow night for the back room and so far nothing is booked except us for that night. I told him there would be around 10 of us. Again, let me know if you think this won't work so I can cancel and re schedule for a better time. Once we settle on a perminate date and time we should be set. Nancy
  17. Don't worry 2bthinagn you will wake up. They don't put you down as deep as for other surgeries. Congratulations on your BandDay. I know how excited you are. I had my surgery on Aug 1 and it went very well. I was in surgery at 9 and home by 12:30. I haven't had any problems except for a little soreness and a few gas pains. I know what you mean about telling people. I thought long and hard about that and decided not to tell any one except my best firend (who is having the surgery Monday and doesn't want any one to know) and my hubby. I did not ever tell my two grown daughters. This is my business and no one elses. Good luck to you and let us know how you are doing. Nancy
  18. Don't be nervous. I was also. But went in at 7 and was home by 12:30. Every thing went so smoothly. I have taken longer lunches than that. You will do fine. Let us know how you doing as soon as you feel up to it. GOOD LUCK AND BEST WISHES Nancy
  19. WOW, 9 people Banded and it's only the 3rd. Amazing. Hope every one is doing well. Nancy Band BirthDAY 8-1-07:whoo:
  20. Ses, How are you feeling? I am ok except for a pain in my tummy right under my breast bone. It hurts pretty bad. I hope its just gas. Other than that I feel fine. Maybe I am not walking enough. I will try to do better tomorrow. Nancy
  21. Hi Becca. Except for a pretty bad pain I have in my tummy (gas I hope) I feel fine. A little sore like I have done 300 or so sit ups but no other problems. The traffic is not too bad if you stay off the freeway. I-10 is a Mad House no matter what time of day you get on. I do everything in my power to stay off it. I take every little side road I know and usually get to where I am going on time or early. If I get on the Freeway I never seem to make it on time. Some one always runs over some one else. I will call them tomorrow and find out the status on the room. Monday may be to soon to book it but we might be able to for our next meet. Do we have a leader yet? Nancy
  22. Hi August Bandsters, I had my surgery Wednesday and so far so good. A little pain but nothing I can't handle. I don't know if this is a good idea or not but the Los Tios Mexican restaurant on Kirkwood and Memorial has a party or meeting room at the back of the restaurant. It is free. I conducted all my board meetings there this past year and it worked out great. It might be too tempting for most of us at this stage of our journey, but they do have Soup and other soft things if anyone wanted to eat. You have to reserve the room and unless it's a large party there may be other groups to contend with but it is an idea. I can't think of anyplace that would be completely quiet and we would not be disturbed. Houston is such a busy town and people are on the go day and night. Anyone else have any ideas?
  23. My surgery was yesterday and all went well. I did have a problem going to the bathroom. They wouldn't let me leave until I did. I sat on the pot and ran water on my hand (same thing I did when I was potty training my girls) but nothing worked. Soooooo, they had to catherize me. I think that was the worst part of the whole day. I arrived at 7 and I was home by 12. I am feeling great. A little sore and I think I have a gas bubble that bothers me, but all in all no complaints. I had a bowl of Malt O Meal for breakfast and some Tomato Bisque soup for lunch. I don't feel any different except for the sorness. It's great to be a full fledged member of the Band World. Good luck to you on this journey.:whoo: Nancy
