  1. I'm wondering the same thing. What's the best approach to minimize excess skin as weight comes off? I've heard one person mention resistance exercises, but I'm not quite sure what that entails. I haven't been cleared for full activity yet... But I'd love to learn about what you're doing activity-wise.
  2. When did you start to lose weight post-op? When did you realize that you were/are succeeding? Needing to feel hopeful
  3. Hey all: Sleeves July 10th... Surgery went great. I'm healing nicely, with the exception that I found out that I am very allergic to the glue used to close my incisions (needless to say, I've been itchy). This evening I stepped onto the scale and noticed that I haven't lost much (-1lbs) since my post-op appointment last week. I'm following the food plan and have been tolerating the foods great. I'm no sure how soon I should feel different and notice a change in weight. I lost 25 lbs from the pre-op diet. I feel a little anxious that I may be the only person in the world that ends up with zero success from having the sleeve. Anyone else encounter this wave of nervousness about 1.5-2 weeks post-op? Thanks!

should I go back to work?

I have surgery on 7/10 and went back to work the following Monday (7/15). My surgeon was a little surprised I went back so soon. I think it's completely up to the individual. If you're tolerating the pain and your job is super physical, try half days or partial shifts to build up your confidences.

    Therapy

I'm a therapist, and in my opinion it's really important to 'click' with your clinician. However, sometimes people think they don't click and it ends up that their clinician is just pushing them to address difficult issues. If your therapist doesn't seem to be able to keep track of your stories, history and general information, then maybe it's best to find someone else. You have to be willing to do the work, but the work is more likely to get done if you have the right clinician supporting and challenging you. Good luck.

    July 2013 sleevers

Hey all! I have my VSG last week (7/10/2013) and returned to work the following week. I'm thrilled to have had the procedure done and have lost 29lbs. since beginning my pre-op diet 3.5 weeks ago. I'm excited about getting released for exercise and full activity in a couple more weeks. Found out I'm allergic to the glue used for incisions... so I am itchy! Any tips for exercises? Any food warnings?
