Leaving for the hospital in an hour!!! I'm ready......... I think

Insomnia before surgery this morning & this coffee/protein drink sounds so good! How soon after surgery could you have real coffee? Guess they won't put it in my IV lol....

Same.... My surgery was scheduled originally for 10am, but was moved up to 7:30, which means that we'll be leaving the house at 5:15 am. Thankfully my sister's coming to get the kiddos off to school! One last chug of water before bed.... Cheers to us!

I'm with you & could have written this myself... Including the husband and son part! Leaving at 7:45, surgery @ 10:00. Where are you having surgery? I'm in Connecticut.

I've been on this pre-op diet for 11 days now- 10 days of Bariatric advantage meal replacement shakes + 2 yogurts daily and tomorrow is day 2 of clear liquids. My doctor requires it because it shrinks the liver prior to surgery. Not really sure why it's important to some doctors and not to others...

Oh boy... Flesh eating poindexter... Hoping those children will not have to put that knife class into action! Also did he taint the water supply? Hmmm.

Where are you having your surgery? Good thing I have lots to do tomorrow because the combination of nerves and hunger is not good! One more day...

Having my surgery on Tuesday morning. Whipped up a fantastic meal for my husband's birthday party tonight... Drank my broth, ate my jello... Survived but damn I'm hungry!!! Everyone has gone home so now I'm hungry and nervous!!!

I feel your pain! Day going into day 11 and now broth/clear liquids... Pretty tough night out with the family as they slurped udon & dumplings lol. As hard as it it I've surprised myself with my own willpower to do it right this time! Next hurdle is my husbands birthday party tomorrow with broth & jello in hand!

I lost like crazy for the first 5 days then nothing. I haven't put so much as a crumb of food in my mouth, besides three protein shakes & 2 yogurts each day. Maybe too few calories?

I'm in on the 15th as well... 12 days Protein shakes (3 a day) & light 100 cal yogurt 2x a day. All clear liquids the last two days. Definitely feels like I'm fasting! Lost 14 lbs then nothing for the past few days... Maybe my body thinks I'm starving and is hanging on to the reserves- trying to convince it to let go!

Glad that at least they found an issue and can deal with. If it's gall stones, my good friend had them and they caused a blockage that made her very sick! Glad that you chose to go to the hospital & best of luck to you!

I have been having the same issue so I called my Dr.'s office. They told me that I can take milk of magnesia... I'm having surgery on Tuesday & was concerned about not having gone for like 5 days! TMI, I know.... My diet since Oct. 2nd. has been 3 Protein shakes & 2 diet yogurts... SF Jello/SF popsicles.

I was told no on the coffee, yes for herbal tea.

I've been on protein shakes since Oct 2nd- clear liquids start for me on Sunday. Sunday is also my husband's birthday party & I'm cooking... Broth for me!!! Good luck with your surgery.

I've had this problem for a while (hands sometimes falling asleep at night) and I'm pre op. I asked my GP recently and she said that it sounded like carpal tunnel syndrome. She also said that many of my issues would clear up after I lost weight. I have to say though, I haven't noticed this happening since being on my pre op diet & I also have been on vitamins for the past couple of weeks. Wonder if it does in fact have to do with vitamin levels?
