Twin Mommy, your numbers look fantastic! Your picture looks great too! No way your not a size 4..you look it in the picture! Manatee - What a nightmare..but you know that we are all rooting for you. Mischy - good for you. So glad that you feel better! you made me thirsty, I'm going to get some water, now that I think about it I have only had a small cup of hot water at lunchtime...that's just not enough water. Melissa (baby blue hint hint) - how fun! A baby! a good old smelly baby! I am jelous! Blessings all and have a beautiful weekend! Weazer

Interesting posts! Mischy - Try the 2.9 and see if that works..you can always have alittle more taken out. I think sometimes..that having the band too tight and not being able to eat the right kinds of food..works against us. It does bother me that I'm not getting my usual amounts of fruits and veges Wenjea - I have a friend here at the hosp who had the band done in July and she is right on track with me for the wght loss (We weighed the same when we started too) and she has only had three rather small fills.. She has difficulty eating some foods so her doctor is making her take a bit of fill out even though she doesn't want too. She is unhappy about that..but he wants her to be able to eat more kinds of food..he says that is how she will loose more wght. Her doctor is much stickter than mine. I am curious to keep watching her and see if his way works..or if my way works (being to tight to eat too much) but, I am being careful...I learned from Manatee that it can be dangerous if to tight. I am being very careful. Yippee..I have managed to get through the last two days and nights without cheating...It really helps me when I pick up overtime at night because I am not at home bored and grazing. I worked from 7a - 11p for the last two days in a row..now that will knock some wght off and my 14 pants seem loose today...5 pds more and I will have to get rid of them!!!!! Weazer

Oh that does sound like allot of fill...I am at 3.25 and don't want to go any tighter....Don't worry about the TMI...it's nothing new on this board..plus, I work at a hospital so you cannot imagine..what I see and hear..sliming and spitting...that's easy! What do you think you want to get unfilled to? Weazy

Mischy - You are younger so you could pull off the hot pink locks...i say go for it!!!!!!! I know just the sound your talking about...it was keeping me up at night while I was sick and my band was so tight after PBing everything....It sounded just like that when I had to walk out of the church auditorium too!!!!! What is your fill level at right now? Have you been PBing at all? Weazer

Sandra, Wow, what a quandry...well, only have a baby if you want one...not because your feeling pressured. You don't think subconciously your husband wants you to gain the wght back do you? But, if you guys have been wanting another child..(I can't think of anything better)...then don't worry, You will still have the band. It will prob be unfilled..but remember when we first got our bands and they hadn't put anything in it yet? Well, I still had some restriction. I lost wght too. I am going to look back to my first posts and see how much I lost until my first fill. You will also be consentrating on eating healthy for the baby. This will be the time that you can put your new skills to work...eating right and exercising you will stay right on track. I just know you can do it. We will be encouraging you! Weazer

Sue and Wenjea - thanks so much for helping me to understand and the tips too! We have one of those hot water spouts on our coffee maker here at work...I will try it y'all's way! I wish i had read this email before I went to the cafteria...I though they would have malt o meal today cause it's thursday...but they forgot to make it...hhhmmfpppttt! So I saw the apples gleaming beautifully from the basket and thought..what the heck, I'll try it. (I never eat fruit anymore unless it's applesauce) Well, I took a bite w/o the skin..and my band started talking to me..so I had to give the apple away. So I just had a big cup of coffee with cream and am no longer hungry. Tomorrow for sure I will try the hot protein drink for sure. You guys are such a good support and I appreciate you... Sandra - you havn't been joining us much lately..are you o.k.? Manatee - How are you doing without the band..I know it must be tough..don't get discouraged.

sue - One other question...what is instant hot? Is it single packets of protein powder, that you can make hot? (not boiling) Weazer

Melissa, So I shouldn't try heating the shakes up? And..your hair is adorable! I got a new hair color myself last week. I have always been a boxed blonde ever since my hair turned dish water blonde...in my teens...I went and had it foiled with lots of browns and just a few blonde highlights. I really like it allot. I get allot of compliments...and I like the fact that my eyes are a prettier color of green against the brown hair. I once went red and loved it too! I was secretly facinated with those hot pink hair color examples they had hanging up to pick you color off of. Oh, if only I was in my 20's again and braver! Weazer

Wenjea Well, I guess the liguid gets stuck on top of my band and just starts making these ridiculously loud squeals while it is trying to get down. Now are you saying I should try heating my shakes up? I never thought of that. I wonder if that would work. kinda like hot chocolate. And I always seem to get my coffee down in the morning. Hmm. is there a mocha flavored protein drink that heats up without clumping? Weazer

Sue - Came to work and made a Protein Shake...first swallow..PB'd it. I guess this is why I don't like to eat in the morning it is so tight. But I am taking tiny little sips and it is staying down now...although..my band is doing the weird squealing thing...and bubbles. Weazer.

Sue - Funny you should say that...after I sent the post...I looked up at my tiny refridge I have in my office and I noticed my whey protein powder on top of it. So, I made one up and decided I should do that every morning. I admit. I havn't been eating breakfast at all. Mostly because everything they have on the breakfast bar comes back up. So I pushed the powder to the front where I will see it every morning. I just got back from lunch...instead of getting the frozen yougert that goes down so easy...I made myself get some soup (o.k.) it was creamy asparagus...but I also got a small bowl of soy beans that I was able to nibble on and I forced myself to eat one half of a canned peach (yuk) and a big bite of watermelon. I used to like this stuff so much. but, boy have I become a picky eater since the band. I am determined to get the right amount of nutriction in. I am working on a big glass of water right now. Thanks for the encouragement. Wenjea - So glad that you are living a fabulouse life now! Blessings, Weazer

Sue, Thanks for caring. I don't really count calories...I don't know if I'm eating enough or not. But, I know for sure i am not getting the nutrician that I need to be getting. I can't eat most fruits or vegetables anymore..and I can't eat breads (ww) I am living off of whatever soup they serve each day in the cafeteria..then when I go home for dinner, I'll usually open a can of soup..or if I have some frozen casserole in the freezer. I make them usually each weekend and freeze bowls of them. I have to make them really creamy so that they will go down. That means lots of cheese. I do try and drink, skim milk each day. But my skin is really taking a hit. It is drying out at a temendous rate. I am getting back on a candy track again too. Chocolate melts so good in my mouth and goes down easy. This is not good nutrition. I know it and I've got to do something about it. I honestly can't remember the last time I had a green or red vegetable. I can't remember that last time I had fruit either..unless I count that cup of applesauce the other night. Weazer

Manatee - I understand how you must feel about thinking about all the foods that you can eat now. It has been so long since I have eaten a sandwhich or a peice of pizza and experienced what it feels like to be really full. I miss it. I can't eat bread at all anymore. Melissa, I dream of a sub or a hamburger! Those days are over for me. I live on soup and mushies. It can get really old at times. Sometimes I can get away with eating crackers if I eat them real slow but it's just not the same as a sandwhich..or did I say hambuger. O.k. I need to stop. I seem to be plateaued in the low 180's..I feel like I am sacrificing so much in the food dept but the wght loss is slowing down. I am not really sure if I will ever reach goal. I may have to settle for this wght..it is allot better than 50 pds ago. I am a downer today. Sorry, Weazer

Laurelli - Wow, you may be stalled (like most of us) but your have done tremendously in the wght loss dept! Fantastic! What size band do you have..how many cc's in it. Could it be time for anotuer fill? Sorry your life is so stressful now. It's understandable that you would be starting to slip back to the old ways. We have all been there. Sue - Your posts always are a blessings. You brighten up my day. How thrilling to be in 12's! I'm still in my 14's and they fit perfect. I can't wait to loose 5-10 pds so that I can wear 12's!!!!!! I love the skinny jeans or the skinny's with a flare because my legs are my best asset. It's my tummy that is the problem. But, I love those undergarments like Spanx..I loose a inch off my tummy when I wear them (I'm never without one). But, I don't like the ones that have the panties in them..I like the ones that are like a camisole. They are long so I pull them over my tummy..wala, no roles or mushroom! Blessings all, Weazer

Laura, I confess that I am a Icecream aholic too! Always have been. I did have some this weekend after a week of behaving admirably! But, I only bought the small containger of low fat ice cream. That way I don't eat a gallon of it. Now, back to my good way of eating during this week. I really want to make sure I loose my next 4 pds so I can for sure be on track with my wght loss goals. P.s. concernign low fat or low sugar ice cream. I'm not going to do them anymore..they have as many calories as regular ice cream..or so it seems to me. I may as well just stick with the regular but only buy one small container a weekend for my treat (if I feel a need that week). Weazer

Metalband - Ha, that's funny Sue11 - I think it was just so swollen from the vomiting while I was sick. It seems to have settled down. I have had a few good days here where I havn't had any pb episodes and my band has stopped making those strange squeaky sounds! I was this close to having some cc's taken out of my band. I think I am going to be o.k now. I have upped my water intake again. We just all need to be really careful when we get sick. Melissa - I am so sorry about the fiasco at the resturante! I am always so afraid that will happen to me. I went out to eat with some friends Sat and had to watch them eat...fried fish and all the accompanyments that go so good with it while I just stuck to some tomatoe soup. They don't know I have the band..and I was so afraid I would barf! This band is a sacrifice..but I wouldn't trade it for the world! Y'all have a beautiful day! Weazer
  22. Vicky, A PB is a productive burp. You could call it throwing up but it really isn't because it dosn't come from your stomac. What happens is that you take a bite of food...within seconds it goes to your band and your band says..nu uh..not gone let you by..and you run to the bathroom fast...because there is no stopping it. It comes right back up just as it went down. Sometimes...even your water or what ever you are drinking will do that. It is supposedly not bad for your teeth because there is not acid in it as it never went to your stomach. You will be doing it from time to time..it is pretty much inevitable. Feel free to ask any questions..now that I am getting close to my first year...I am almost an oldster! Chell, Fortunatly for me...my family doctor had been seeing me for a couple of years and she new that I had dieted..tried her diet pills (Meridian) ove the course of a couple of years..so she wrote a letter to the ins co and I didn't have to do the 6 month diet. If I remember correctly..I started the ins process in Jan..and had the surg by May...it could have went allot faster if the girl at the doctor office would have pushed that paperwork faster. She really had a cavalier attitude about hurrying for me! Good luck. Once you have the band..you will drop the wght fast. Blessings, Weazer

Metalband, You say your not good on the wght loss now...but..goodness 60plus pds! woweeee! I know what you mean about the stomack growling thing though...My band was so tight after throwing up so many times last week..that by Sunday when I went to church...I was by myself and I was tired of laying in bed, so I loaded up and went to church..it's a really big church and I decided to sit in the very last row in case I didn't feel good. Well, fortunatly for me I did because my stomack was growling so loud that I had to get up and leave! The person sitting next to me looked at me and smiled. I had to apolgise to her. I went and sat in this room where they have a monitor of that pastor preaching where the mom's bring the babies that are crying so as not to bother anyone...I felt like such an idiot. Finally, I made it through yesterday and I didn't PB the whold day. I was so happy! Really the growling wasn'st seeming to come from my stomack..it seemed to be coming from above my band. So loud! It has not growled all day though. Maybe it's over because my swelling is down? blessings, Weazer
  24. Vicki - I don't mind getting fills at all. I love having the option of getting one when I start eating more. Plus my PA does a little numbing shot first so they don't hurt. What I don't like is when I have a slightly to tight fill. But, I had to be aggressive with my fills because I am stubborn and will eat too much with out the tightness. It has really paid off. The wght is coming off perfectly. Yesterday I had an entire day without a PB (I usually have at least one a day). I am happy about that. To me it means that it is loosening up a bit on it's own. Also, the more wght I loose...my band should get looser to (that's according to my doctor). maybe i wont have to have an unfill after all. Just be sure that going into this you know that it is not easy, it does take work, persaverence and will power (but the band makes it much easier that it was before. It is a blessings). In years past when I would start to gain wght back...I would never get back on track. The band has made it possible to get back on track each set back. Now the wght loss is really showing! I love my band!!!!! Terry - Nothing better than a person with a sence of humor. Blessings, Lisa

Manatee, I am so thankful to the Lord. I don't even know you but I was really worried. Anytime someone says they are throwing up blood...my goodness. I will continue to keep you in my prayers. Sandra - I'll bet you drop somemore wght. Just keep up the good eating...I learned from the Biggest Looser this week that you have to eat enough calories...or your metabolism will slow down. Maybe you just arn't eating enough? Melissa, Metalband and Sue11 - How ya doing?
