Melissa, I am so proud of you! You did it! I know that must have been hard at the beach and all. I hope I have that kind of strength. I started today on my liquid diet. So far I have just had one protein shake. I am not hungry at all. I will try and get my water in. 64 oz. I better start now! My only obsticle today will be that I forgot, i have to go out to dinner tonight for my son-n-laws birthday party. It is a Cajun resturante. I hope they have some type of clear soup! By then I am sure the smells will be driving me crazy. I guess I should drink a protein shake before I go. I'll bet that will help. Laura - good for you not wghing yourself! I love only weighing myself once a month. It really helps me. Blessings all. Wish me strength today as I try to stick to liquids! Weazer.

Oh my gosh. I lied. I can't start on liquids tomorrow. It is the Jazz festival. There is no way I will be able to go there and stay on liquids. I placed my big container of Protein Powder on my desk and I will start on Monday morning. It is going to be so hard. I don't think I've only done liguids since day one of the surgery! Talk to you guys Monday, Weazer

Sandra, Thanks for the info on the stretched pouch. I also went on line and researched it and it says the same thing. Days 1&2 Liquid Protein Shakes, broth, clear or cream soups, sugar-free gelatin and pudding Day3 Soft Proteins Tuna, eggs, soft fish, etc... Day 4 Firm Protein Ground meat, shellfish, scallops, lobster, salmon Day 5 Solid Protein Chicken, beef Steak (If tolerated) I am going to get on track starting tomorrow. It will be difficult. Especially the first couple of days. Starting tomorrow, liquids only. Wish me luck. Oh, and I can't wait for Peanut to be born!!!!! Weazer

 Melissa, I am afraid I have streched mine too. Do you think that if we only drink liquids it will shrink back. I was afraid I have damaged it forever. Weazer
-
Girl, It's so good to have you back. I was wondering about you! Your little peanut is wonderful. I am so happy for you. Your family is very beautiful. You look fantastic! Before you know it the baby will be born and you will have the band to help you get back on track. What a blessing the band is for you and all of us. Thanks for sharing the pictures. I feel like a aunt! Blessings, Weazer

Hello all, Melissa - I like you hope there is nothing wrong with my band. They put me back up to 3.25 last Thursday but I don't feel any restriction. I can eat anything and I am getting depressed about it. I guess that the first year anniversary coming up and not being at goal wght is depressing me a bit. Plus this is a big birthday for me (50 on May 20th). So reality is sitting in. I am going to be over wght at 50. Never young again. I didn't know it would hit me so hard. Sorry for the downer mood. I can't waith to pull out of it. Also, I am discouraged because I can't seem to get back on track with my eating. I was so hoping the fill would kick me back into the right mode. Manatee you look really good. Blessing all, Weazer

Sue, I wish I could handle a bit more fill..when he put 3.5 in..the water just would not go down..and my band was doing the squeeking and squeeling thing! But, it is a tad disconcerting to think that .25 of my fill dissapeared. I hope that doesnt mean that it will do that evertime. Now that I have changed insurances (since the surgery) my fills are not covered. They are 150.00 cash! Ouch! You are so amazing...I am so astounded by your numbers..how did you do it..how did you loose over 100 lbs! Wow! I am so extremly happy for you! You seem like a really neat person, wish you lived in Texas! We could be exercise friends! Blessings, Weazer

Laura, Hello - Yes, this time last year we were all in the liver shrinking mode. If I remember correctly, I didn't have to do the liquid diet before the proceedure. Good thing because it was hard enough after the surgery! Today I went in and had a fill. I have not had one since Nov 2007. Well, I mysteriously lost .25 of my fill. So he put it back in. I am at 3.25 again. He tried putting in enough to make it 3.5 but it was too tight, I couldn't even swallow tiny sips of water! I wghd in at 184...still two pds more than one month ago when I had my bladder surgery. But i was happy to see that I had lost two of the 4 that I had gained! Hopefully now I will be able to get into the 170's! I can't tell you how excited that will make me! Then the 160s..I think that is when I will really feel like I look skinny. I can't wait. Not complaining though. I look and feel so much better..still in my 14s couldn't be happier..much better than 18s! Blessings..oh, and Manatee..hang in there..with your determination..you will get the wght off again real fast..your remarkable. Weazer

Deb24 - Yes, I feel stalled too. Just hoping the fill on Thursday will get me back on track to loosing wght again. I am tired of hovering between 180-185. It will tickle me to death when I get in the 170's and stay there for a while! Sue - Way to go. I am so happy for you. You had so many NSV's while on your vacation. You are a inspiration! Jenney - Hello. sorry about the band problems. Wow, that was a new one on me. Never heard of something like that happening. I am trying to be so much more careful with my band now. I used to not mind PBing because I thought that I was getting rid of calories. After what happened to Manatee - I try and keep all my food down. (His pulled back through itself i think).Any way, nice to meet you and hope you do well and get reinspired! Metal band - 64lbs is terrific. You relly don't have that far to go. I still have 30-40 to go myself. maybe we will get it done in the coming year! Melissa - Thanks for encouraging all of us. If I was as dedicated as you with the gym and water and eating right. I would have lost so much more. You inspire me too! Weazer

Oh and I forgot to tell eveyone the rotton news. I bite the bullet and got on the scale this morning. Just as I suspected..I gained 4 lbs while off for surgery! I guess it could have been worse so I won't let myself get discouraged. I feel like I am back on track though. Just being at work helps. Weazer

Wenjea, Welcome back. Wow! 80 lbs. what and accomplishment...you must be so proud. I am more than half way to my goal to. Just another 30 or 40 pds! I go for a fill on the 17th...I hope it helps me to loose another 10 pds! The posts on this blog are getting slimmer and slimmer..I guess as we loose wght, we don't need each other as much..but I am addicted to this sight! P.S. I relate to the loose chin. I am not happy with mine. I know that it goes along with age and I will be 50 this year...I can't expect to look like I did in my 20's, 30's and even early 40's anymore..but gosh! If I had the money..I would have one of those lifestyle lifts..look them up on Google. My friend had it done and she looks fantastic..neck like a 20 yr old. Day surg...then you go home. Weazer

Pinenut, Sorry about the subway! It has been fun these last couple of weeks to be able to eat bread again. When I talked to my PA yesterday she said she doesn't want me doing that anymore. Funny thing is I am trying to drink a protein shake right now and I PB'd the first swallow. Strange how it works. I don't like the feeling of my tummy feeling bigger these last couple of weeks. Even though I havn't gotten on the scale there is no denying I have put on a few pounds. The pants I wore yesterday were tight aroung the waist...I was hoping that it was because they shrunk in the wash..but when I put on a pair this morning and they are snug in the waist..I gave up the hopeful thinking. I don't ever want to go back to the way I was. Soup today! Weazer

Cindi, Hello, thanks for the welcome back. Well I called the PA at the filling station and admitted to her that I can eat bread and stuff that I couldn't eat a few weeks ago and she told me I needed a fill. I told her but I'm having so much fun! Well, she talked me into making a appt on the 18th. She is right. I have been over eating. Wonder what my fill will be. I'll let you all know, Blessings, Lisa
-
Hello Pinenut! Yup, I seem to be stopped at 50lbs. Maybe what they say about only loosing about half of what you need to loose having the lap band is true. We are going to have to fight to take the second half off. We can do it if we exercise and eat right. I havn't had icecream in two whole days! Glad you came back for motivation. Melissa! I know the fill will help take you to a new level! Laura, you are doing great. All the right things. Thats the great thing about the band. It always helps to get us back on track easier than anything else that I have ever experienced..well except a date with a really hot guy. Now that motivates me everytime! This coming year we are all going to have to bust our buts exercising and eating right to do this. Let's all stay on the board! Weazer

metal - Thanks for giving the report on where I had disappeared to. I havn't got to read the posts. I can't wait. Want to find out where everyone is on their wght loss almost one year later. I am still at the 50lb point (unless I gained some back)(but I will get it off this week). everyone send a post with just your wght loss...we can keep copying and pasting to it. Weazer (Mini) - 50lbs

Cindy, I'm back! Thanks for remembering me! I have been off for three weeks. Had my surgery. all is well. My surg went great. The only problem is that the three weeks I was off, I pigged out. I was bored and couldn't do any work or lifting or bike riding. I started grazing..then it was a all out pig out for the last two weeks. I am so mad at myself. I can see that I will always have to stay busy. I won't get on the scale for the month of April. I think it would bring me down. I suspect I gained about 5-8 pds while off. It is good to be back at work and back on my routine. I had a vege berger minus the bread for lunch with some swiss cheese, baked chips and a v-8. I am going to pull some overtime tonight so I won't be able to graze. I am back on track. Thank you Lord. I don't like the feeling of being full! Weazer
-
Thanks you all, I appreciate you guys! I am checking out now and don't know if I'll get to come back on the board for a few weeks. If I get near a computer I will! I'll being thinking of you all and anxiously awaiting getting back on line. Blessings, Weazy

Metalband - I still here! Reading the post most everday. Thanks for noticing. This month has been a time of turmoil for me and my family. My precious brother Mark passed away on Feb 29th. I was down in Houston at his bedside. My daughter is getting married this Sat and you can only imagine the planning and details that are keeping me occupied! Next Monday I have my bladder surgery so I'll be off work for three weeks. Just trying to stay focused on the wedding and being caught up at work. I admit, I'll be glad when this month is over and life can get back to normal! Sandra - Congrads on the new baby!!! How absolutly wonderful! Really! And with your new eating skills you will do just fine. I bet you don't need the entire fill taken out...just most of it and it will still help! I pray you only crave healthy foods!!! SElaine - I read your post and so wanted you to know that I feel for you and am sorry for the problems with your band, and the money part. Wow, I know that's tuff. But, I like Sue I am so impressed with your determination to succeed. That is exactly what it will take. I always have believed that everything happens for a reason so just go with it and embrace it. I can't imagine what great things your future holds if you look that way! Manatee - way to encourage SElaine!!! Also, my daughter had wght loss surg and had to have her gallbladder out within 6 months. They say when you loose wght fast that can happen. I am so glad it didn't happen to me. Just what I need is another scar on my tummy. I think that for my surg monday they will be cutting me there again too! Yuk! Well, I've missed talking to you all. But, it is so good to be able to come here every day and read your posts. This site is crucial to me now. I think I will be posting when I am 80! blessings all, Weazer

Manatee - You look great! My own personal choice if I got to pick for you would be to stay where your at...I'm not a big fan of tiny little men that wght 140's or 150's. I like the 170's- 180's (height into consideration of course). But, if you want to go lower..do it for you. It's not about other people. This is for you and most importantly for your health. You look great. You looked great before you lost the weight. Now you look even better. Stay healthy. Weazer

Miss Vicki, Thanks for the advice. I know why I used to overeat. This surg has helped tremedously...I don't think it's a head problem why I am reverting to sweets..I think it's a band is too tight problem. The sweets are just so much easier to eat. I think Denise is right about maybe needing a bit of fill taken out..maybe going from 3.25 to 3 cc's. maybe when I can eat a bigger variety of foods again..I won't need to eat the easy stuff. Thanks friend, Lisa -
Manatee - I can't believe it! how can they be so stupid! What are you supposed to wait till you gain the wght back before they let you have it done again. Are you going to write them along letter and tell them about it! I am so mad for you. Steaming. Weazer

Denise, About the sweets..they are just so much easier for me to eat! But not nutrious. Here is what I ate yesterday...this has not been the ususal for me..but I am afraid I am slipping back into my old habits. Breakfast - coffee w/chocolate creamer - a Hershy's bar lunch - small cup of chili w/side of freeto's - sm cobbler - sm coke dinner - small cup mashed potatoes - Two bowls of ice cream! What an awful day! Where is the nutrition? Why so many sweets? Why the cokes? I ususally only have a coke once or twice a week. I am slipping into bad habits. I just have so much trouble eating meat and bread anymore that I am starting to lean more to the sweets. This is bad. I need to figure out what to do. Any ideas? Lisa -

Well, I guess that when I turn 50 next May..I won't like blogging as much! Nope I refuse...I get really connected and supported on these lap band forums..I'm going to keep looking for you 50 somethings..I want to know if the weight is coming off or slowing down like me. I am still in the low 180's I so want to get into the 170's. I am eating too many sweet things lately. Lisa
