Patty - Awsome 3lbs! You are doing magnificent! See you worried about the doc yelling for nothing! I used to do that all the time (worry in advance) I am finally learning to not do that. It was probably one of the changes in myself that I am most proud of. Course now I know who I can give my cares too! Winjea - I have had two fills but can still eat too much volume. But, it looks like you have 2.7 cc...and I only have 2cc. Maybe that .7 makes a big diff. I can't wait to get myself a 3rd fill next month. Thankfully I got back on track yesterday after the browning disaster the day before! Oh, I was wondering if you have ins and which one. I have UHC and it pays for the fills. Janine - It will drive me crazy till I find that thread. I bet that lump feeling has something to do with the band and not your thyroid...but only the doc will know. I will keep searching for that thread. Melissa - Isn't is funny how our kids can torture us! Last weekend after my daughter got home after her month and a half visit with dad..she says, sorry mom but Linsay misses me so I promised her I would spend the night! I'm like not wanting to shatter her 13yr old world by telling her no..but, darn I missed her. I told her, it is fine, but next time, make sure and ask me first. She grinned sheepishly and said o.k. Kids! Blessings, Weazer

O.k. Maybe one day we can go white water rafting! Can you imagin doing it in the Grand Canyon! janine, I have been looking for a thread about that lump in your throat, I know I've seen it before..not having any luck. If I see anything I will let you know. Melissa, Yay, your baby is back....plenty of hugs! They make my day too! Patty, I feel for ya, I am a single mom to and I know how hard it can be. I see you have four kids...my you are blessed. If you like I will pray for you to come up with the funds to get your fill...how much would it cost? Sometimes prayer is all we single girls got! God has been very good to me and I feel very blessed for my home and car and pretty good job. I don't take nothing for granted. Blessings, Weazer

I'm happy in Texas too! 28 pds down and ready to keep on losin! Blessings from Denton, TX

Hello Ginger, I live in Denton. Not too far. I love to shop, but it is usually at resale shops or garage sales. When I have some money to burn, I like to shop at Cato's. They have cute cloths and accessories and are inexpensive. Maybe sometime in the future we will get together and shop and split an entree for lunch! Oh, and I no what some of y'all mean about those dreams about failing. Because I am living. It. I am still not on track since I lost that 4 pds. I am afraid to weigh cause I know the scale has moved up. My problem is at night after I get home. I eat fine all day, then I lose it. I new that there was one big brownie left in the kitchen from the batch that my daughter had made and I kept trying to put it out of my mind...but I jumped up and ate it. I am so mad mad mad at myself. But, I won't stay mad for long. I will beat this! Weazer

Well, I already meet once a year with my Soaring Sistah's that I met on the internet. Why not go for a second vacation each year! Maybe the closer we get to our year anniversary we can start talking about it. I am not a gambler (I am to practickle) (notice I did not know how to spell practickle) but it would be fun to meet you guys anywhere. Maybe we could make it a expidition like the ones where you get excercise, like kayaking down a river! How cool would that be...or mountain climbing...eew no, that's too scary, maybe hikining someplace where they don't have bears or mountain lions (not into being eatin)! Weazer

That is so cool Babe! You may never need a fill! I had my second fill last week but it really didn't help a bit. I will probably go and get a little more fill in a week or two. Sandra, you just keep weighing then! I had to throw out my scale to keep from doing that all the time. It really took will power for me to only weigh once a week.

Hello all, I am catching up from last friday. Melissa - About that hair loss. I have heard that it is pretty common to lose allot of hair up to six months after surg. It is the anesthsia that is the problem. It dosn't happen to everyone. Also if you are not getting enough protein. Also, good luck on the job interview and I must say those refried beans sound so good! I want some for lunch! Raysbabe - 38 pds without a fill is fantastic. The statistics are that 10% of us won't even need a fill to lose the weight. I am on the other side (the 90% that need a fill)! You are a babe! I bet your haircut is adorable. Leg - Congrads on the two pds..isn't it great to see the scale move down! Sandra - My sister went from 175 to 125 (she is only 5'3) and her best friends (both skinny) abandoned her. I guess they liked to be around her fat and felt threatened or didn't like not being the center of attention anymore. It hurt my sister so bad. After all, they had been friends since teenagers (25 yrs or so). So people can be like that. Also, Sandra, I hope you don't mind my advice...don't weigh everyday. It will really discourage you. Trust me on that. I was doing the same thing for awhile and it would really get me depressed. Weekly will be good. Cindy - I'm with you. I am dreading my last child going off to college. Thank the Lord I still have 5 yrs left with her. I love every moment that she is at home driving me crazy! Course, I had my last kid at 36, so I know how fast it really goes. My oldest is 25! Well, Y'all have a wonderful day. I am afraid to get on the scale. I have been very bad for a couple of days. Having some stress's like broken car...etc. Trying to learn not to eat emotionally. Today, I intend to get back on track. Two eggs for breakfast. Blessings, Weazer

Oh Wenjea, How wonderful that you have 6 kids. I am jelouse! And a month at a cabina....now I want to trade lives with you! I think it is a real accomplishment to go on vacation and not gain weight! I mean really, think about that. Those jeans your talking about sound great. Anything that makes the old butt look good! I was looking at mine today in the mirror..(yes, o.k. I was looking at my butt) it looked so big...I was thinking I can't wait for it to shrink! Woo Hoo! I don't care if big butts are in, I want a butt like was in style in the 70's and 80's....no butt at all! Blessings,

Melissa, Now you made me cry! We could just keep passing the teary eyes back and forth!!!! About those pills. I take 10 mg of sarafem. It is in the prosac family. I get PMS really bad...so it really knocks the edge off. I don't have to crush any of my pills. There should be plenty of space for the pills to go through. My doc said it is around the size of a nickle right now. I can take a horse tablet if I want. I confess I am not taking my vitamins. I don't really feel like I need them. I am getting such good nutrician in now. Much much better than before when I lived off of ice cream, cake, and cookies. I take my blood pressure pills each day with the sarafem and that's all I can manage to choke down. I hate pills. I don't know why. I figure when I get down to 185 I will wean myself off the blood pressure meds and see if I am o.k. That was one of the main reasons that I had this surg. I hate taking the pills. Plus those pill (bl Pressure) mess with my head a bit. I am not as sweet as I used to be. The sarafem helps that thoe! I am actually not taking the bl pressure pills for high blood pressure..but a fast heart rate. I sure do hope when I get the weight off that will help. Blessings,

Legster - Oh, I just know after two weeks the scales will have moved down. Let us know when you get back..really rooting for you! Cindy - 203! Hip Hip Hooray! you really are doing fantastic on your weight loss. I'm thinking your are going to look great in your Christmas photo's this year! Melissa - Yippe, 4 pds! Doesn't that feel great! I have PB's all the time. It happens when I don't chew enough. I really have to liquify my food. Is that what happened to you? I know how you must feel about missing your daughter. Mine just got back sat morn after a month and a half visist with her father. I missed her so very much. This morning before I left for work, I went in there and looked at her precious face and thanked God for giving her to me. Sandra - Sorry the scale didn't budge. How often are you weighing? I'll bet it will be down by at least 4 pds by next week. Sounds like you are very aware of the need to be active. You really went for it this weekend. Keep it up. I hate that thight thing too. Usually I'll wear those bike shorts under my skirts at work so it won't happen to me. Soon, that problem will be a mute point for us. Please, will y'all quit talking about muffins, my mouth is watering! Blessings,

Whoo Hoo, I weighed in this morning and I was at 204! That is a 4 pd loss in seven days! Onederland get ready! I am fixing to cross over to the other side. Is anyone else weighing in this morning? Let us know. Blessings,

Cindi, There are 35 cals per pc of turkey bacon. 2.1 gms protein. Did you try toasting your bread for the BLT. I hear some can eat toast easier than soft bread. I am one of the lucky ones and can eat anything so far. No problems except with dry meat like chicken breast. I am going to try ckn thighs this weekend as they are more moist. Another good turkey meat is turkey pepperoni. I love it. I tastes just like real pepperoni. 17 peices for only about 70 cals..9 gms protien. Look at the package, I may have those number off, but just a bit. Happy eating and thanks for your encouraging words! Sandra, You are gonna make that 202 pds this month for sure! You will probably slip right over into onederland. I am running neck and neck with you, somewhere between 208 and 205. I only weigh on Mondays so I'll let you know then. Everybody have a beautiful weekend!
-
Thanks Sandra! I am feeling much better today! Your doing great too! This is such a wonderful experience! I made myself eat some turkey bacon for breakfast today. I want to be sure and get that protein in. I have been living on soup. Plus I have been eating lots of meat. But, I was afraid it would be hard to eat the meat after my fill. But, it went down just fine! Have a wonderful weekend all!

Oh gosh, God is good. Here I have been depressed about the vacation pictures and one of my coworkers just came into my office to ask me if I was loosing weight. I had been talking to her in the hallway and after I left, she followed me back here just to ask that question. She said, I can really see it in your face! Wow! That was just what I needed to hear! It's so not funny to gain weight in your face...but, I don't think that will ever happen again. It will get better and better each day. Also, the doc's office just called to check on me which I thought was very sweet. Blessings,

Hello all. I had my fill just yesterday but am still feeling a bit discouraged today. I think it is because a friend emailed me the pictures that she had taken on our vacation a week or so ago with all of my friends. All I could focus on was how fat my face looks. I am trying to pull out of this slump. I know I will lose the weight but am just having a bummed out moment. But, my body looked much better in the photos. I think when I smile so big for the pictures..it makes a big double chin. That's the answer! No more big smiles!!!!!! See, I am making myself lol. Lana, 39 pds is fantastic! You should be proud! I am still at the 24 pds loss. I had a fill yesterday so hope I will start to lose soon. Agchick, I noticed from my first fill that it didn't kick in for about a week. I have heard that some of the saline stays in the tubing so it takes awhile to shake it all down into the port area. I ate a whole steak last night. I took tiny bites and chewed really really good. But, I bet by next week I will be eating alot less. Sandra, thanks for your positive posts. They are up lifting. Weazer

Dear Leg, Thanks for the tip. I will read it carefully and try to apply! I have been spending several mini breaks reading up on all the back May bandster posts. It feels so good to find peeps that are on the same road as I. As I said, I had my second fill today and have had no hunger. He said I could only have clear liquids for 24 hours. I am not even hungry. I will try and eat some soup tonight. My first fill was 2cc in a 4cc band. But, today he took out 1 1/2 cc and put another 1 1/2 cc in. He said now you really have 2cc's. I don't understand, but o.k. What ever he says. Now in a couple of days I will test the restriction and see if there is any difference. These doc's can be confusing at times! Blessings, Weza

Hello, I am not sure if I have ever posted on this thread before. But, I am going to start. I had my band May 7th, 2007. I had my second fill just today. I have gone from 232 to 208. I am 5'5 1/2 ". I could have lost faster but I am afraid that I have had my slip ups. They are getting fewer and farther between now. I was wearing 18/20 but now can fit into most of my 16's (I have many sizes in my closet from so much yo yoing). But, I too refuse to buy any more 18/20's. There is a big difference. I am feeling much better, even with only a 24 pd weight loss. My face is thinner and I feel much more flexable. I can squat down and place mail in the employee's mailbox on the lower level now and not die trying to get up. I can walk to the mailroom without being out of breath. Feeling much better in general. I can't wait to see if this second fill makes any difference. I have been able to eat anything. I have had a few PB incidents, but that was when I forgot to chew thouroughly. I am pretty much following the rules except having trouble stopping drinking during meals. Also, once a week or so I have been blowing it with sweets. I need to get a handle on both of those. It is great to find this thread. Blessings, Weazer

Well, I just had to come back today and tell you, I had my first PB. Isn't that funny, I never thought it would happen to me! I had made these little home made pizza's out of ww pita bread, and I guess I took to big of a bite. Oh my gosh, I felt like a swallowed a boulder, It was so painful. I said help out loud. Boy would I hate that if that happened at the cafeteria at work? I was scared to eat after that, but I started taking teeny tiny bites and chewed it so fine. It is true what they say about the fills starting to work a week or two later. My goodness, hope that dosnt happen again! Weza

Phyl, That should have said 450 cals are way to low!
-
Eva, Thanks for the welcome. When are you going to be banded? I am so excited for you! Weza
-
Chimboree, Thanks for the welcome! It is good to be here. I only told one friend from the church and she was very supportive. i told one sis and both my daughters. (I am single). I included a couple of close friends at work. I chose not to tell my mom and some others..because I know my mom would moniter every bite that went into my mouth. So would some of my co-workers, I am just not in the mood for that! I get the support I need from some of these great websites that I have found. So glad I found this one. Phyl, down 22 pds, that's wonderful. 450 cals a day is way to girl! Your going to be eating more than that after your band. I average 900-1200 cals per day. you have the rest of your life to lose weight so you can take it slower. You don't want to be unhealthy. Plus, your skin won't look as good if you lose it fast. Shell, wow 47,736 bucks! My goodness, how long were you in the hospital? I was in and out the same day. Mine cost me about 2200 bucks after the ins. Well worth it though. I still have about a month till my second fill. I will decide as I get closer if I really need it. I don't want to be so restricted that I eat too much less than I am eating now. I feel good about my food intake. I know that that is always subject to change though. God Bless this beautiful country. I pray for peace in Israel. Thank you God for loving me so much that you chose me, a sinner, to be one of your own. Weza

Hello, I found this thread last week and have started at the beginning. It is so nice to go through this experience with people who love the Lord. I live in North Texas. Had my band done on May 7th. I have lost 30 pds. I am able to eat anything (but I eat very healthy now). I have had no problems like nausea, etc...had my first fill last week. It went fine. I started my journey at 232, I am at 202 yesterday morning. This is so cool! I will check in tomorrow my sisters and brothers.... Blessings, Weza
