Thank you ! And I'm glad you couldn't have guessed that lol . I've been blessed with the height and decently proportioned fat lol . It's hard getting into the groove of exercising but now I have to go, I actually enjoy it ! If you live near DC we can be gym buddies lol

Starting weight ( eek I don't even wanna say this ) was my highest at 385. I included my preop diet I was 365 ( June 28th). Surgery weight was 351. Current is 296. My goal is 200 , maybe 215 . I'm 5'11. I go to the gym 5-6 days a week , do interval training on the treadmill for 35 minutes 3x/ week . The other days I do cardio for 30-45 minutes either on the treadmill , stairclimber , or stationary bike ( usually a combo of all 3). Lift weights ( 20-30 lbs) 3x/ week . There's an awesome app called " running for weight loss " I use to help with the interval training .

Thank you ! I eat grilled chicken , salmon , or tuna . I've tried a lot of other things but I try to stick to those . No bread , I don't want to trick myself into thinking I can have it so I've stayed away . I have at least a protein shake a day with some strawberries in it , throw it in the blender . that will help you with the liquids . I struggled through the liquid portion too it's very hard . My protein shakes are only 4 oz so it's easier to get down . Keep your head up it gets better but it's a hard journey , but well worth it !

What is best TASTING Protein shake?

Syntha 6 . I do the vanilla ice cream flavor with a few cut up strawberries and throw it in the blender . It's so good . Or the chocolate cake batter . For 4 oz , you get 22 grams of protein .

    Birth Control?!

Try sprintec. I was on it for years before my surgery . Then placed on ortho-tri-cyclen lo and it messed my cycle all up after 9 months . I'm back on sprintec again and love it . It's cheap ( no co pay for my insurance ) and it's a low dose one so there's less chance of a weight gain . I've been taking it since January , even through my post op .

    JULY SLEEVERS

If anyone is looking for a good protein shake , I use Syntha 6 protein powder . The best is the chocolate cake batter . It's so good . The vanilla ice cream literally tastes like melted vanilla ice cream . 22 g of protein for 4 oz of liquid . It's around $28 for a 2.91 lb tub . There are 28 4 oz servings in it .

    JULY SLEEVERS

I am barely getting in a protein shake a day . I have no appetite . I'm looking forward to Friday when I can have soft food . I've never been so excited to eat a scrambled egg in my life lol

    JULY SLEEVERS

Yuck , cauliflower lol . I am hoping after all of this that my taste buds change and that I will like more things. I wish I wasn't so picky . I am trying to mainly focus on just staying hydrated .

    JULY SLEEVERS

Hello all . my surgery was July 10th. I am so over protein shakes ( did a 2 week protein diet like I am sure most of us were). Since starting that 3 weeks ago i am down 23 lbs . My doc said she is fine with me proceeding to puree foods. Anyone know how mashed potatoes work for them if they are on puree yet? I only want a taste just to get something different from sweet protein shakes .

    Great job !
  19. I also had my surgery last week on July 10th. I felt really hopeless yesterday, cried a bit because I haven't had any food for 3 weeks and I was sick of drinking Protein shakes, but today I feel better( Just hoping I got enough nutrition and fluids in). I like the Protein shake I bought , Syntha-6 in chocolate cake batter and Vanilla ice cream. Both are good, if you like sweet tasting stuff you may enjoy it. Keep your head up, I am trying to as well with you. My mom had the gastric bypass and she has been with me pushing me each day, and I see how great she looks and feels. My motivation is a healthier me. Good luck to you. The first weeks, i have to assume are the worst. Ashley
