danaevett got a reaction from Elizabeth21 in Dealing With My Depression :(
I suffer from depression too. My advice would be to get some exercise if you're not already. That alone will make you feel some better. Are you on medications? If so; be sure to take them like you're supposed to. You may want to contact your doctor to get your meds adjusted. Get out of the house some. It helps. If you don't have one already; find someone that you can lean on. Sometimes we just need to feel loved. Speak positively. Say "I feel great" over and over again. Soon your brain will start to believe it. And finally, FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT! Do not let it get the best of you. Give it all you've got. You haven't come this far to give up now. Hang in there. You've got this!

danaevett got a reaction from Debi Amador in Surgery date was 3-12-2014
My surgery was March 6th. I'm down 32 pounds since then. I've been taken off all of my diabetes meds and cleared of diabetes. Also; my blood pressure med has been cut in half. You and I are doing great. Way to go.

as of May 17 and that big girl with the pretty face is gone. I'm so grateful and proud of how far I've come. I still can't believe it's me in the pictures or when I pass a store window. I've lost 102 lbs and now working on the last 10. Festival season in New Orleans is hard on my good eating habits...but I'm getting back on track. Have a awesome weekend everybody and good luck!!!! Hang in there.

danaevett reacted to piercedqt78 in My 1 year post-op appt and body measurements!
I had my 1 year on the 8th but due to a nasty stomach virus I was unable to go, so I went today. I'm down 91 pounds from my revision weight, and 134 from my highest. I had 100% perfect labs, and my surgeon that is normally very to the point called me a "superstar" It just made my day. I also did my measurements and I'm now a 33-28-32. I can wear a size 3 in every brand, and as small as a 0 in some brands. Today was one of the happiest days of my life!!

danaevett reacted to EarthyGoalie in I remember when...
I remember when I thought to myself "I don't need weight loss surgery, I'm going to try this special diet one more time, and I'll make it!"
I remember when I was worried that I would be the exception, the one who would get weight loss surgery and not lose weight.
I remember when I lost my first 30 pounds and thought "I still feel the same, I still think I look the same, and my clothes still fit. This isn't working!"
I remember when i felt that each pound I lost was going to be my last one, and I'd lose no more.
I remember when I wrote down my goal weight and thought "wow, as if! Oh well, good motivation at least..."
I remember when I would look at other people's post in Bea's challenges who were in the 150s, 140s, 130s, and feeling so behind.
Now, I still can't believe, I'm 5 lbs away from my impossible goal, I really did lose the weight, each pound I lost was not my last one, and I'm no longer doubtful of weight loss surgery not working for me (duhh lol)
Although I'm not yet at goal, I'm very happy, and I wanted to let all of you who currently feel the way I did, that you're going to make it, and you're not going to be the exception to weight loss surgery!

danaevett reacted to Debi Amador in I RAN
When I was in High School I loved to run. And I ran every night after work until I got pregnant with my 12 year old. While I was pregnant I had horrible morning sickness that didn't go away until after I delivered him, but the morning sickness always hit worse at night so I stopped running. Yada Yada Yada I never got back into running and got fatter and fatter.
Tonight I decided I was going to try to run around the block and I did it. It took me 15 minutes and I'm sure most runners would have said I was jogging but to me it was a run.
I came home and laid on the floor panting like a dog for 10 minutes but I did it, and wanted to share!

danaevett reacted to adargie in OK gonna do it, finally some pics, been at onederland for a week now!
So here goes nothing! highest weight/surg weight 265 as of today 197.2. Surg date aug 5 2013 so I am 9 months out. I am a slow loser but am pleased as punch with where I am at. My goal is 175 and from there who knows!
My before pics are the first 2 I am the one all the way to the right in both.
the 3rd is me 4 days ago after a new hair do! lol
I don't have many full length pics, still finding myself avoiding the camera a bit like I used to. Hard habit to break!
