Here we go with the rules and instructions:
1. Be sure and log in here on Friday, May 30, 2014 to post your start weight and your goal weight for the challenge.
2. When setting your goal, keep in mind that this challenge is only 4 weeks long (5 weigh-ins).
3. Weigh in every Friday and post your updates here.

GOOD LUCK!
Note for you non-USA folks...even though it is not your country's Independence Day, it is definitely your country's "Fourth of July" (I mean, it's the 4th of July everywhere, right?!?) So here's hoping you'll think of this as a holiday to share with us and join in on the fun here. Happy 4th of July, folks!

I am also 3 months out and have lost 60 pounds (27.3 kb). We are right on track with each other. Good luck.

I too can eat a lot. I almost feel like my surgeon didn't make my sleeve small enough. Ugh!!!
-
-
I didn't have any problems. They had several hoops to jump thru but that was no big deal.
-
So it's been a while but wanted to update since it's been a year since my sleeve-
Hit goal weight last month and kinda bounce between 153 and 157 now as I'm in maintenance from my high weight of 253
Good luck to all of you starting out and keep up the good work to everyone!!
Nice body.

I call mine "Boss" because my boss didn't want me to have surgery. He thought I should lose the weight on my own. Now he's struggling to lose weight himself and keeps asking more and more questions about my surgery. LOL Love it!
-
I'm 9 weeks post op and have lost 32 pounds since surgery. Sounds to me like you're right on track.

I had a hiatal hernia repair and vsg surgery on 03/26/14 and today I had lost 41 lbs since surgery and am down 3 pant sizes. It's tough and I'm hungry most of the time, and I always have that fear or failing but right now I'm happy and I'm working very hard. Maybe it was the cash out of my pocket that has me motivated not sure but I pray I have continued success. Good luck to everyone and best wishes.
I had a hiatal hernia repair and vsg on 3/6/14. I'm down 34 pounds since surgery. I too have been dealing with hunger. The day before yesterday I read that hunger pangs can be caused by excess acid in the stomach. Yesterday I started back on my Prilosec (Omeprazole) and it did seem to make a difference. I wasn't quite as hungry yesterday. Hope this helps.

I'm 9 weeks out and I can gulp it as long as I don't try to do it too soon after eating.

I can't feel that most of my stomach is gone. The only time it's apparent is when I eat and get full quickly.
-
A lot of new sleevers mistake acid for hunger. I did as well. Once I took a proton pump inhibitor (approved by my doc), that feeling went away.
I find that hunger feel different now - it's more like "empty" than what hunger felt like before surgery. I know when I should feel hungry, so when I get that feeling, I pop a Tums and it goes away.
Best of luck to you!
What is a proton pump inhibitor and what does it do?
-
Me too.
