  1. My surgery is tomorrow at 10:00 am eastern time in Chattanooga, TN. So far I've lost 9 pounds before my pre-op diet, and 16 pounds on my 2-week liquid pre-op diet for a total of 25 pounds. I've got about 93 pounds to go to reach my goal of 200. If you don't mind, send up a little prayer for me. I'm not nervous, I just believe in the power of prayer. Thanks in advance!

  2. My 2 week pre-op liquid diet ends in 2 days. I've lost 15.8 lbs so far. I weigh 293 and hope to hit 289 by Thursday. The diet was quite challenging at times. Especially when the rest of the family was having dinner. They tried to be thoughtful and not eat in front of me but it was still tough. Surgery is Thursday 3-6-14 and I'll be on Clear liquids for a week after that. Then I progress to full liquids for 2 weeks. That makes 5 weeks of liquids. I'm gonna end up losing all my weight just by being on 5 weeks of a liquid diet. lol Good luck to us both.

  3. I'm March 6th too.

That's good were gonna be sleeve buddies

I am new to the forums and am also a March 6 sleever! =)

Hi Newness yes we are sleeve buddies. A couple of more days.

Not long now. How's your pre-op diet going? I've lost 15 pounds so far. I haven't cheated any but there have been times that were tough. The liquid diet alone makes you lose weight and I'll end up having 5 weeks of liquids only. The first two weeks are for the pre-op diet, then I have one week of Clear Liquids after surgery, then I have two more weeks of the liquid diet before I progress on to pureed foods. I should be down 25-40 lbs just with the liquid diet alone. Heck, I'll be 1/3 of the way to goal after the liquid diet. Good luck on Thursday guys. I know we'll all do great. I'll keep you guys in my thoughts and prayers.

  4. Day 6 down 9.8 lbs..hope to be down 20 total by next Thursday. ...The big day 3/6

I'm on March 6th as well. I'm starting day 8 of my 2-week pre-op diet today. I lost 12.6 pounds the first week. My diet is full liquids; no solid food at all. I have 5 Glucerna shakes a day, chicken broth, G2 Gatorade, Water, and Tomato Soup. I haven't cheated any. The diet was a real challenge for a couple of days but then I didn't feel so hungry anymore. I'm in the groove now. You did very well on week 1 of your diet. Keep it up.

  5. I'm on Day 4 of of a 14-day pre-op liquid diet where I have to drink 4-5 Bariatric Advantage shakes per day.

The problem is that the shakes make me sick (diarrhea and nausea). It's not just the taste, but the smell and texture too.

Anyone else experience this too? Should I call the doctor's office? Any suggestion

I hate Bariatric Advantage shakes too. I paid $100 for them from my surgeon and they are terrible. I had the option to use Glucerna shakes instead and that's what I've done. They are so much better.

  6. Tomorrow I am going to all liquid diet. I am scheduled for surgery on 3/10/2014. I am pretty freaked out about only consuming Protein shakes for the next 4 weeks. I am very excited but worried about how I will do emotionally during the next month. I hope I can keep it together.

I'm on day 5 of my diet. My surgery is March 6th. It's not the most pleasant thing but it is doable. Hang in there. You'll be able to handle it.

  7. Add frozen or fresh fruit, or Torani flavored SF syrups, Crystal Light powder, SF pudding powder. I hated that brand, the BA, and love the Premier Protein shakes bought in bulk (24) at Sam's Club. I also liked the EAS whey powder from Walmart better than BA. The BA, without a lot of ice and additives, seemed slimy and too sweet. Good luck. 3 months post op and still like the Premier Protein chocolate!

    Thanks Linda. Good info.
