So my doc didn't allow anything but clear liquids 2 weeks out then start full liquid week 3 which would be protein shakes. That is neither here nor there just surprised. Many people find that they have new allergies all of a sudden so you may want to try some different protein shakes. I am desperately allergic to whey though I have no prob with milk, cream, yogurt etc. I have the exact reaction you are talking about I know it is miserable! Try soy, hemp, pea protein. If you are buying online search for "vegan protein powder" and you will grantee to be whey free. Protein shakes are a great resource and I still have a few a week 3 years out. Super supplements in my area sells many vegan options in single serve packets so you can try. If its the taste or texture try spending some time on "the world according to egg face" blog she has tons of shake recipes and has a gastric bypass so she knows how to cook for a tiny tummy. Also try protein shots they are 2-3oz. Of high protein clear liquid like thick kool-aid. They taste very strong but tolerable and you can often get 20g of protein off the vegan ones. Used to get them at rite aid and off amazon. I really recommend finding an option that will allow an all liquid diet for a least a week or two to finish healing and allow everything to settle out. Liquid diet is a tool you will likely want to utilize later for stalls and jump starts so figuring it out now will serve you well. Also make sure you aren't drinking with food. Supposedly to stop drinking half hour before meals and not start again till 30 min after. The liquid triggers the pyloric valve and allows Food to pass through the stomach quicker so you won't feel full. Dr. Alvarez has a great series on you tube that talks about these things you can search by name or search" Endobariatric" which is his practice. Good luck! Also if the texture is what's getting you try -

You poor thing! Absolutely get on what you can. My baby is 10 weeks old and I had horrible constipation while pregnant too. Really didn't resolve until after delivery and the introduction of stool softeners. Not sure if you can take those while preg so ask your doc. I ate a lot if carbs preg because I wanted quick viable energy available and they are necessary for fetal brain development. I had miscarried earlier in the year so I was taking no chances. I did struggle with morning sickness initially bue my sleeve relaxed and I was able to consume about 2x my normal. Restriction is coming back now and the weight is coming off at a descent rate. Best if luck to you and don't beat yourself up. Do what you need too to keep you and baby happy and healthy:) -
I am about 3 years out and it was the best decisions have ever made. I always gained massive amounts in times of pain/ loss/depression and this has really helped. I am down about 110lbs currently and racing back toward goal after having a baby 9 weeks ago. Even with the depression of losing my father 2 weeks after delivery I am able to keep going because I no longer have the reaction to food I had always struggled with. No longer having the ability to binge has haunted that powerful obsession. I wish you luck and can tell you the folks I know with revisions from band to sleeve have said they were very pleased

I know that drinking liquid triggers the pyloric valve to open so your stomach empties sooner and thus you can eat more or more frequently. I know that is one reason for the recommendation... Dr Alvarez addresses it in his book and i imagine online. As for the rest I haven't clue but am interested to hear from those who do!

I am so sorry for your loss. Having lost a baby at 12 weeks about a year ago I know there is nothing that takes the pain away and no words that can make it better. Just know that this is not your fault and you deserve a space to mourn, be gentle with yourself. grief comes in waves but eventually the ocean calms. Sending you love and support.

I had surgery at 33 and got pregnant at 11months post-op (purely by accident they aren't kidding when they say it boosts fertility). I miscarried at 12 weeks but we don't believe this is related to WLS. I then decided I wanted another baby and was pregnant within the month I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl at age 35 in May of this year she is now 2 months old. Not sure if it has been mentioned but my sleeve relaxed during pregnancy and I could suddenly eat more. The hormones of breast feeding seem to have kept it slightly relaxed ( more restriction than pregnancy). I am not worried because after the MC my sleeve went right back into shape. Best of Luck to those trying to change to bring their babies into this world!
