I just had my 6 month doctor visit and according to him, all is going well. My blood work came back great and I have lost 46" and 86.5 pounds. I was told to expect up to 4-5# loss each month in the future, at best. I have gone from a size 24 (I think) in pants to a size 16 or 18 and 2x/3x to a l/xl in shirts. I am still unable to "see" how much I have lost, however my daughter showed me a picture from this summer where I was standing in the background and even I am shocked! I signed up to do a 5K at the end of April and would like to be at a 100 pound loss by then and in the onederland by the end of summer. Some days, I get very frustrated...I have been in the 230's for two months now and CAN'T WAIT to get that over with!!! I have been able to keep working hard towards my goal. I have to say, this has been a great journey. Although the weight loss is slowing down, I have still had an average loss of almost .5 pounds a day...AMAZING! Keep up the great work, August Sleevers!

Please add me to this challenge, too! I will set my goal for 228 and use today's weight of 233 as a starting weight. The weight has been coming off so SLOWLY...hopefully I am not done losing. I just signed up to run a 5K at the end of April and have begun training.

Boo! I am up 1.5 pounds...back up to 233. My first gain in this journey (how did that happen?!) I will just keep trudging along I did have my 6 month appointment this week and everyone says that I am on track . I haven't been losing much, but the inches are still coming off, thanks to exercise! I have been in the 230's for a very llloooonnnggg time...and will be leaving them behind SOON!

So....we are all approaching the 6 month mark! Although it seems our weight loss has slowed, we have all been doing great. How has your sleeve changed your life? What are you doing to keep the weight loss going? How many sizes/pounds have you lost? What is your exercise regimen? I know I slipped into some old routines over the holidays, but am back on track and working out more than ever. I signed up for a 5K in April and am hitting the gym pretty hard for training. That is something I NEVER would have dreamed of 6 months ago. My surgery was just over 5 months ago and I still keep asking myself why I didn't do it sooner. I am looking forward to hearing the 6 month success stories!

Just when I thought I was back on the losing track, I have stayed the same again this week....233! I know it is much better to stay the same than to gain, but I am playing by the rules. No one ever said this would be easy, so I will trudge onward! Next week WILL be better.

1/3=237 1/10=237 1/17=235 1/24=233 Goal=222 Another 2 pounds GONE! After a 3 week stall, I am SO happy to be seeing some results again. Now, to keep working to get out of these darn 230's.....I have been here too long! Have a great week, everyone, and keep working towards your goals!
-
I have been stuck for a while, too! I have been trying to intensify my workout, add more water and be more strict about my diet. This is the first stall I have had so I am trying to stay positive. 83 pounds gone...but hope there is more to come!!

I FINALLY saw the scale move this week. I started the challenge at 237 and went down to 235 this week....my first loss in over 3 weeks. I have been playing by all of the rules and getting at least 5 good hour long workouts in each week. I am hoping this is not where I stop this journey! Frustration has set in, but I am still plugging away. ((sigh))

Look at YOU! Great job!!!!

Sounds like everyone is doing GREAT! I am loving my sleeve. I have been a little disappointed with my weight loss lately...only lost 4 pounds last month and 2 of those pounds have been in the last week!! (yikes). I have been exercising and tracking my intake on MFP like a mad-man lately! This is the first stall I have experienced, so hopefully things will start to change. I am down a total of 83 pounds since my pre-op diet, something that would never have happened with out WLS. This has truly been a life-changing event! I am sooooo glad I finally did this for ME! Keep up the good work, everyone!

My first stall My last weigh-in was over 2 weeks ago and I am at the same weight...237. I was a little lax over Christmas, but am back on track. I was really thinking I would have a loss this week since I have been recording EVERY bite and have stepped up my workout. According to MFP, I should be losing! I am going to keep at it. Next week I WILL LOSE (hopefully)!!

Since I was unable to weigh in this week, I don't know my current weight. My last weigh-in, I was 237. My goal is to be at 222 for Valentines day. (And hopefully be at 218 on my anniversary at the end of Feb...which would be a total of 100 pounds lost). I have really stepped up my exercising and been using MFP lately, so I am on track to reach my goals!! Good luck, everyone!

Christmas - New Year Challenge
susan6161 replied to Bea Amaya's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I. AM. BUMMED! I am a teacher and use the scale at work. The building was supposed to be open yesterday and when I went to weigh in, it was locked up! I will be out of town until the 6th and won't be able to weigh in until then. I have been hitting the gym pretty hard the past 10 days, so hopefully that has helped. I guess I will just be surprised when I go back on Monday. I needed to lose 5 pounds this week, so I doubt that I made goal. No worries though...I am much better off than I was last year...over 80 pounds gone. I am thrilled to actually be on-track to an even better year ahead! I have set my goals and will do my best to achieve them. Good luck and HAPPY NEW YEAR, everyone! -
No one ever said..i'm worried about how heavy you are getting!

Only 4 people know I had WLS and today one asked "what will you do when you lose too much weight? How do you stop it?" Seriously? I wonder if they think there is no work involved? This person sees me weigh my food, drink my water (lots and lots of water)and waves when I take my 5-7 mile walks nearly EVERY day! Geesh! -
loosening a alot of hair. ..

I am 4 1/2 months post op and my hair is considerably thinner. Thank goodness I had super-thick hair. I knew it was coming, but was still in shock. This, too, shall pass! -
I LOVE this idea! Thanks for sharing!!

I really have no idea what size I wore pre-surgery. Yep, I was in denial! I literally shoved myself in my size 22 pants. Of course there was only one style that I could wear in size 22. Shirts...not sure of that size either. I was adamant that I would not outgrow a size 2X, but I did allow a few 3X in my wardrobe. Now that I have lost over 80 pounds, I still don't know my true size since I am wearing clothes that are too big (for a change). I recently purchased a pair of new pants..in size 16 (but they are stretchy) and my t-shirts fit appropriately with an XL. How refreshing it is to wear clothes that actually fit, as well as many other perks. Although my weight loss has slowed down and I have given in to some holiday goodies, I am thankful that my sleeve is helping me along the way. As a mother of 5 and a teacher, I usually "do" for others...so glad that I did this for ME!
