45 years old. Married my second husband Mark in 2003. We have lost three babies, our son Daniel was born too soon in 2006. Our second loss was a first trimester loss. In 2010, at the age of 42, we found out I was pregnant again. Had an ultrasound, lost the baby but found many tumors in my bladder. Had chemo in Nov, Dec, Jan and Feb 2011, and in March of 2011, had a 12 hour surgery to remove my bladder and my uterus. It's been a long recovery. Because of the open surgery, I developed a huge basketball-sized hernia near my belly button stoma. Met with surgeon and he suggested weight loss prior to hernia surgery, and so here I am!

My husband and I have been foster parents since 2005, have had four failed adoptions, and are now almost done with our classes to get us ready to adopt. Hoping I'm not too old for this and that the upcoming surgeries help me get my life back!
