If you thought this was me "mocking" you.....nonono. Don't try to read into things that simply aren't there. I say what I mean and mean what I say. -

You are absolutely and unbelievably wrong. I was mocking nothing. I was saying that I HAD ONLY BEEN HERE A MONTH. And I DO NOT LIKE ANYONE. Wow. Seriously? -

LOL squishy face. I think I may have joined when the possibility of the Sleeve first came up, but I know I only started posting right before my approval. But yes, I am always confuzzled. But I mean well. -

What's a pantaloon? I think that shall be my word of the day. What a fun word. Oh crap, am I changing the subject again? -

I've only been on this board for a month or less. And I don't like anyone. -

It soothes me to realize that there are others out there just as depraved as I. -

MindiJean replied to cindymaried's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As we're sitting down to dinner last night, at a restaurant, with two foster sons we had for respite.....the youngest starts digging for gold. I pretend not to notice. But then I notice the table beside us noticing. And disapproving. So me being me, I decide to route for the underdog, and start giggling and ever-so-gently encouraging the treasure hunt. The moral of this story is.....live and let live. Let people be who they are. And watch out for the really hard, crusty ones. -

Good Morning!!! How many nose pickers do we have out there on this fine Sunday morning? -
One week and one day after I am sleeved will be Thanksgiving. I will be on a pureed diet on that day. It's just my husband and I at home and I don't want him to suffer just because I have to eat pureed foods. What should we make, or buy beforehand, to make our lives easier? I was thinking one of those pre-made Thanksgiving dinners from the grocery store, but even that seems too large and too much work to reheat and carve, etc.

Thanksgiving ~ One week post-op
MindiJean replied to MindiJean's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
My diet for two weeks post surgery is pretty easy -
My surgeon goes with the theory that the surgery will change my A1C so he's not worried about my numbers before surgery. They are too high for my liking and so I'm trying low carb as much as possible. My surgery is on Nov 20

In your experience, what is the longest hospital stay after the sleeve surgery, for a plain old surgery with no complications?

what are chances of gallbladder problems after sleeve
MindiJean replied to kvdme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked my surgeon this yesterday when I met with him. He is not going to remove my gallbladder during surgery (which I thought would be the answer to any problems). He is putting me on meds for six months to lessen the chance of having any issues. -

He's just one of our three Stooges! All have mushed faces,,,,two Pugs and a Boxer. They say that people start to resemble their dogs...... -
Am preparing for coming home after surgery on November 20. I am to have pureed food prior to leaving the hospital. It's just my husband and I at home, and would love suggestions on regular meals I can make to satisfy my Protein intake, as well as giving my husband a decent meal at the same time. I was thinking white bean chicken chili would be okay pureed? Soups? Maybe spaghetti and meatballs while I only eat the meatballs?

MindiJean replied to cindymaried's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can understand the frustration from having a different plan than others. But my frustration is with people in real life, not on this board. I have a very different pre and post op diet than most. I am having my surgery done at a Center of Excellence, and so I will follow what they tell me to do. I have friends in real life who have begged me to find a new NUT because "you have a really bad Nut". That offended me. I'm a relatively smart individual and have gone with the most experienced team I could find for this surgery. Just because a plan is different than your own, does not mean you have a "bad" team, or Nut, or surgeon, -
No fun. I'm 2.5 years out now and still am a wreck for my scans. I discussed with surgeon what would happen if my scans came back bad. He said the cancer would take priority over the surgery. I hope it all turns out well for you!!

My day started at 8 AM this morning, with EKGs, pre-testing, blood work, meetings with surgeon, etc. End result, I am approved for surgery on November 20! Added bonus? Had my scans and xrays for my bladder cancer today, all clear! What a relief!!

they make you wait a WEEK to get results? I would not survive the wait. I get my scans and xrays and then go to urologist where she's already read the scans!

My pre-surg diet is high Protein low carb regular food, no eating after midnight day before surgery....and post op is pureed foods before leaving hospital.

I have looked and have not found. A lot of people have said that sugar free popsicles helped them out a lot the first days. But I can't eat anything with artificial sweeteners. Does anyone know of some that are sweetened with Stevia?
