Kathie5353 replied to Crissigus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had headaches too! Coffee withdrawl for me -
I don't because Medicare paid for mine. But if you email his office they can tell you. They did everything for me. I did not talk to my ins once they did it all! They are great and Dr Turton is too! I had very little pain, no nausea, no drain. Here is their link http://wgbariatrics.com/about-us/meet-dr-turton Best of luck too you!

"Ocean Potion" makes a great 100 % aloe gel, Walmart used to carry it, but it is hard to find there anymore. I did find it at Amazon and order it there now. It is the best stuff I love it! -
loose skin treatment
Kathie5353 replied to Jessica25702's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have always used 100 % Aloe Vera Gel intsead of lotion, even on my face. It is a bit sticky until it dries but it makes my skin very soft and healthy. I also use it around and on my incision scars and it has helped with healing and is very soothing. Great Stuff! -

I know when my kids were sick I bought http://pedialyte.com/ to keep them well hydrated, they also make popsicles and they were good. Of course check with your nut first but maybe they will help you. Best of luck!

I will be four weeks post op tomorrow, and go in for my four week check up. I am 53 and always was overweight and healthy. Then with age joint pains, high BP, Pre Diabetic. I am doing very well! The only thing I would do different is I wish I had the surgery years ago. First week was hard but my husband and pain pills made it ok. I am a private person also and told very few people. This is a tuff journey and I needed nothing negative in my mind. BTW.... 37 pounds down feeling great! I wish you all the best!

Kathie5353 replied to liz89's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was allowed very runny cream of wheat and oatmeal and just a little bit was very filling and took my hunger away. Always ask your doctor or nut first. Your stomach is healing and you DO NOT want a leak! Best of luck to you. Sleeved 8/26/13. -

Home from vsg i dont know how to eat (day 4)
Kathie5353 replied to lawree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Protein drinks will make you feel better and heal well. Protein is very important! Not just so you dont lose muscle mass but because you need to heal. I went off protein for 2 days one week after my surgery and I felt horrible! I went back on it and I feell much better and began to heal faster too. I am 3 weeks and 2 days out 32 pounds down. but just going slowly now with soft foods, I make sure i get the protein in first though. I wish you luck -
I cannot seem to sleep as much either, still trying to adjust. I wake up early morning and can not go back to sleep. Very frustrating!

Which Bariatric vitamins, minerals and other dietary supplements do YOU take ?
Kathie5353 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Yes most liquids taste nasty! but not these. Go to the websitehttp://www.wellesse.com/ or call the 800 number and they will send free samples. The iron does not taste great but is is not bad. All the other taste very good. I was very surprised when I got my samples. I ordered them three weeks before surgery, I am two weeks post op and I take them daily. I have healed fast and feel very good. Anyway try the free samples if you do not like them you are out nothing. -

I took a pillow for the ride home, very important! I also took a small soft blankie that smelled great like home. My Kindle, cell phone and way to many nightgowns. They really had everything I needed except the pillow for the ride home.
