    Impatiently waiting for Aetna

Jessica108 I know this waiting game has to suck really bad. My Dr. submitted my request on Friday Oct 11th. I am BMI 41ish now after losing 24 on the required 90 day diet by Aetna. My paperwork was submitted with a surgery date of 10/29. I do not have any comorbidities and that is what worries me. I hope that they get you the in home machine ASAP so you can get to moving on with the process. Praying and fingers crossed for you.

Veggie haters how did you do?

Thanks aliekat55, that was my biggest worry about failing after the sleeve is not getting any veggies. Tomorrow is my next weigh in and hopefully I can set my surgery date!!! GO SLEEVE!
  3. I am 81 days into my 90 day pre-op diet. Hoping for surgery on 10/29. I have eaten veggies, tried them different ways but I STILL HATE THEM. I have lost 20lbs but I am worried about how well I will do post op since this is a life change and sometimes I would rather starve than eat them. I know Protein is first so really I won't be consuming a lot of veggies...but to chew something that tastes bad to me into applesauce consistency now makes me want to vomit. How did you do it if you feel the same way about veggies. The dietician says snack on cucumbers or chew on carrots when you feel hungry....I just can't do it. Don't get me wrong my eating habits have changed a lot and I am concious of other foods and not eating fried, or bread etc., veggies are just my downfall.

Veggie haters how did you do?

Thanks marfar7, I too hope I love them afterwards. I may have worded my diet wrong 90 day insurance required diet. My Dr only makes us do a 1 day liquid diet pre-op. Don't think I could survive the 1 or 2 week liquid diet some folks have to do. I would literally starve. LOL Yeah broccoli for breakfast is not my cup of tea either. I love the V8 splash drinks I am going to have to check it out thanks! Hoping the sugar content is good since the surgeon said no fruit juices....

    Hypothyroids & Weightloss

It is nice to hear all the positive stories of success with VSG with hypothyroidism. I really hope mine stays level throughout the process.

    Scared I'll fail @ this!

I got all choked up when I said those words to my surgeon and PCP. My PCP said one thing to me that made me feel better. This surgery isn't for the health nuts & marathon runners. Everyone doing this surgery is just like us. I am just starting my 90 day diet with hopefully surgery in Oct/Nov. I have a long way to go but I need and want a healthier life. So me as a meat and potatoes gal or pasta...can forcefully eat what needs to be done to make it.

Newbie on the path to a new beginning!

Well, I am a NEW newbie to this site. I am just starting my 90 day diet, trying out the protein drinks and trying to stay on track. Lots of appointments set, and the process moving right along. Hoping for a late Oct. or early Nov. surgery. I am gung ho ready for a life change toward a healthier me and being able to do active stuff with my kiddo. Doing pretty good thus far for the diet for a meat and potatoes person. I hope that my hate for veggies progresses into a love . Current weight 276 --> goal 170.
